I was so disappointed to have to stay 2 nights in this hotel it was greatly in need of updating. I took pictures of the badly stained carpeting in the hallways. The bedrooms were a bit better but still with peeling wallpaper and tired decor. I learned upon arrival that it was scheduled for renovations but had no forewarning that it had gotten so shabby and dirty. Had service been pleasant, I would have felt better but the staff did not seem happy to be there at check in. There was one server at breakfast the first day. She worked really hard to keep up with the crowd but clearly was unhappy about being understaffed. Barely willing to tell us our choices and refill our coffee cup once. We were traveling around the Maritimes with another couple and I was embarrassed I had been the one to book us here other hotels in this price range or a tiny bit more cost were so much nicer.
