Reasonably priced motel on the highway in Baddeck.
Unfortunately my previous review was for the wrong motel. The Cabot Trail Motel is outstanding. The staff couldn't be any friendly or accommodating and the on-premises restaurant is excellent (open from 7:00 for breakfast and until 8:00 for dinner). My complements to the chef for her fish cakes & beans (much better than it sounds). The location is close to Baddeck and a great jumping off place for the Cabot Trail. Be sure to book a chalet or a room in the back to avoid the highway noise. We had a chalet which was comfortably rustic but very clean and spacious.
It's an old style 1960's motel in a great location. The kids next door were pretty noisy until the posted 11:00 pm quiet time. Nothing fancy but a cool location overlooking the beach.
