Villa Ambrosia definitely delights the senses with its pleasing mixture of stunning scenery, fragrant gardens, and historical relevance. Set in a lovely area just outside of Lucca, the villa enjoys soothing views of rolling hillsides and is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. Once a 17th century convent inhabited by Cappucini monks, the villa has been recently painstakingly restored and renovated back to its Tuscan glory. Beautiful, old frescoes, wood beamed ceilings, and hand-made tiles now complement the modern amenities installed by the present owners. With a fully-equipped professional kitchen, seating for up to 20 guests, and a garden house, Villa Ambrosia is the perfect venue for weddings, banquets, conferences, and meetings. The garden has been brought back to its original design of giardino al’Italiana and is now full of flowers and lemon pots. The large pool, surrounded by cascades of roses, welcomes the guests to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The pool area is furnished with large sun umbrellas, deck chairs, sun beds, and a table with chairs for al fresco dining.

The separate Garden House (100 sqm) is organized for weddings, banquets, and meetings. With tables and chairs, and movable walls, the area can be divided into 4 rooms.

The owners (a professional couple) occupy a completely independent apartment on the ground and first floor in the center of the villa. The attic houses another independent apartment (with separate staircase) for the caretaker/gardener.

The rates include:

The entrance on the ground floor of Villa Ambrosia leads to a large salon/living area with sofas, armchairs, and access to the front garden via French doors. The elegant dining room has seating for over 22 guests. The fully-equipped, professional kitchen offers a fridge/deep freezer, dishwasher and 2nd industrial dishwasher, oven, pizza oven, professional stove with six burners, two sinks, microwave, toaster, two American-style coffee makers, Kitchen Aid mixer, and dish warmer. Adjacent to the kitchen is a service bathroom for the staff, laundry room with washing machine and dryer, and ironing facilities. Also on the ground floor is a study/office with computer, two powder rooms, and an elevator (suitable for wheelchairs).

The first floor of the villa consists of six double bedrooms, of which five are suites. The suites are furnished with two bathrooms, closet, safe, sitting area with double sofa bed, a mini fridge/bar, Wi-Fi, Satellite TV, and hair dryer. All the king size beds can be separated into two twin beds upon request.

The second floor of the villa consists of the remaining five double bedrooms, of which two are suites. Bedrooms 10 and 11 share a bathroom with shower. Again, all the bedrooms are equipped with a mini fridge/bar, safe, Satellite TV, CD player, and Wi-Fi.

Starting the summer of 2015:

There are new flat screen televisions in all the bedrooms.

The swimming pool area, in order to preserve children\'s security, is now all surrounded by a beautiful wrought iron railing in line with the style of the fountain to further beautify the garden.

Within walking distance of Villa Ambrosia is the quaint village of Segromigno in Monte, offering a supermarket, bank, bar, pizzeria, post office, hair dresser, and general shopping needs. Nearby are the towns of Lucca (7 km), Pisa (9 km), Florence (55 km), and Siena (about 120 km). The Puccini Opera Festival, in Torre del lago Puccini, is about 30 km away. A visit to the coast is about a half hour by car (Viareggio). Cinqueterre is about 1.5 hours. And for those looking for shopping bargains, the major outlets (Gucci, Prada, D & G, etc.) are within one hour's drive.
