This Hotel is primarily a conference hotel but it is a good hotel to explore Bern. The room was on the small side but adequate. The location is excellent, only a few minutes from the train station and a short walk onto the old city. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice.
We spent two nights in this hotel and we had a very nice stay. The hotel is located 5 minutes walking from the central station, in an optimal position, close to different supermarkets, a big mall and few nice restaurants. The stuff at the hotel is very kind, the breakfast is big, tasty and with a lot of choices, the room was super clean and anywhere in the hotel you can find only "Rituals" products which are a top choice! The room was quiet as we requested, everything was as expected. I highly recommend you this place!
Coffee and water in room was nice and the bedding was good. The room layout more than anything let it down - small bathroom, a bed you could hit your shins on (and I did). Rather a lot of noise in the street and then at 8am from the next room being cleaned (they must have been moving the beds and slamming doors, I think) The staff were very friendly, especially at breakfast, and breakfast was good. TV rather limited for a non-German / non-Swiss speaker (but UK BBC Radio channels if you searched for long enough).
Good breakfast selection and friendly staff. No Aircon during summer though. Toilet abiT small. Overall good location as very very near to train station and attractions. In room free water and kettle for tea and coffee.
This hotel has a central location being near to the main train station and the Old Town. The free public transport pass was wonderful as it allowed us to travel widely to capture all facets of the city. The room is well proportioned and house keeping is good. However the room temperature is on the warm side even though there's a blowing tower fan provided in the room. Breakfast is good and enjoyable. Reception staff is very friendly and helpful.
We arrived late in the evening. The night shift person was very kind and offered his support changing our booking from a single to a double room. Room itself was very small but super hot. We had 27 degrees inside the room on a cloudy day with outside temperatures of about 18 degrees. Parking in that area is difficult because the hotel is located in a white zone - and then you have to park your car somewhere else at 8 p.m.
The hotel is in a good location, easy walking distance to the main town and public transport. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was disappointing though as it was very small and had no air conditioning so it was very hot and stuffy. There was a portable a/c unit in the room but it was not sufficient to cool the room.
We stayed at Sorell Hotel Ador for one night during our recent visit in Bern. The hotel was conveniently located within 8 minutes' walk from the train station. Our room was small with broken wooden parquet floor. No air-conditioning, only electric fan. The bathroom was smalll too but finctional with ample shelf space. The shower had strong water pressure. The breakfast buffet had good variety. Salmon was great. The food was refilled promptly. Applause to Edith for her excellent service. She worked very hard to check every table and make sure everything was fine. Impressive breakfast service!
Less than 10 min walk from the old town this very pleasent hotel is well situated to explore. The rooms are very small but are clean and tidy. Staff were very polite and helpful. There is an underground car park that is linked to the hotel ( there is a charge ) A beautiful city with many restaurants all close to this hotel. We would be happy to stay there again.
If not for the reasonable breakfast I would rate this hotel 'Terrible'. On a business trip, arriving at 21.00 I asked whether it would be possible to have a room which did not overlook the main road. The receptionist's response was that all rooms overlooked the road (which struck me as odd given that the hotel is a square building) and that if I wanted a quiet room I should find another hotel. When I dropped my bag in my room I found it to be very warm and stuffy. Back to the reception desk I asked whether the rooms had air conditioning? Response: only the 'executive' rooms have AC and they were all fully booked. If I wanted to cool the room down I should open the window and use the 'air cooler'. The 'air cooler' was no such thing - it's simply a fan which moves warm air around the room. Overall I was most surprised by the receptionist's unhelpful and unsympathetic attitude. My room was small and cramped. And the interior decor of the hotel (unpainted concrete) made me think of life in an underground bunker. Dismal. Not recommended.
