We find this hotel the perfect stay for our family , they have really spaciuos family room up to 6 ,a little appartment , or rooms for 4. rooms are quiet ad clean there is a swimming pool which for the kids is a big fun ! as well the bowling ! Breakfast its OK , tipical home breakfast ,I personally would ad some more choice... we eat at the restaurant and we had a a nice experience. Price are in the average . Eating near by in Gstaad will cost you way more . Room price may change depending of the season, check on their website before!
I had 2 nights there the week before christmas. It was very quiet, mellow and perfectly located in the sunny side of the mountain. I went hiking a lot and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and wild life. The staff and the director made my stay very personal and comfortable.
The hotel is situated on the side of the mountain and has an excellent view of the valley. It was previously a medical facility so everything is extremely roomy such as the hallways, etc. The room was very big with a great bathroom and a really nice balcony. Everything has been updated and is in great, new condition. The pool is gigantic as well. The staff was amazing, everyone was so kind and helpful.
We spent 6 nights in this hotel, which is a short drive from Gstaad and the slopes. We stayed in the newly renovated rooms on the right side of the hotel, which were warm, spacious and had wonderful views over the valley. The kids really liked the large pool and spent hours there. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We really liked this hotel and would recommend it to others.
Found this hotel at the last minute on a trip to Gstaad and didn't want to pay the exorbitant prices in Gstaad. Had a room in the third building with large balcony looking down over the valley which was especially beautiful at night with all the buildings lit up. Fabulous indoor pool. Very friendly staff. Well worth a visit.
In the past, I have only felt moved to write a review on Tripadvisor because the hotel was so awful, but this time it is completely the opposite! I booked one night at Hotel Solsana without paying much attention just because we were going to a concert in Saanen and I didn't want to have to drive home on mountain roads late at night in winter. When we arrived at Saanen (by train), I was initially quite disappointed to find that the hotel was some distance away from the railway station, on a steep hillside overlooking the village - much too far to walk with our suitcase. I had assumed that it was in the village centre. No problem - the free hotel shuttle bus collected us at the station and returned us there the next day in no time at all! Because it is so high, the hotel has spectacular views - the huge terrace leading from our bedroom was breath-taking. Everything was spotlessly clean and worked perfectly, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. There are lovely, well-marked walks in the mountains directly from the hotel and (the icing on the cake for us) the pool is clean, a good length, and was a perfect temperature with jacuzzi and massage jets at the side to soothe my husband's sore back! We hadn't known that there would be a pool, but the hotel has costumes in all sizes to hire for a very reasonable fee. Our first visit was just for convenient overnight accommodation, but we will certainly go back for a longer visit, to explore the beautiful region and to experience the sheer pleasure of staying in this wonderful hotel!
Nice Hotel, nice clean rooms with balcony and wonderful mountain view. A very sppecial concept for visually handicapped guests. The food lunch and dinner was also very good. Special thanks to the friendly and helpful hotel staff. We will definetely come back.
We had to be In Gstaad for the WE and couldn't find anything. Then thought about the Solsana. Initially a hotel for the blind ( they still have blind guests, if you come with kids, good to have a talk with them in order not to have unwanted remarks when they see them ), it has been renovated recently. The rooms as good. The people are great. Just the corridors remind you of a past. We were very pleasently surprised. Where other hotels market themselves as 4 or 5 stars and don't deserve it, this 3 star hotel is at the top of the 3 stars. Prices were very reasonable ( for the region ). Beautiful view. We had 2 bedrooms, one for 2 and one for 4. Both were big enough ( the 4-persons bedroom was on split level ). The bathrooms were maybe a bit small ( and all handicap-accessible). All in all, a nice surprise which we'll use again.
Perched high above the valley, the Hotel Solsana is worth the trip. The exterior speaks "history", the interior speaks "contemporary." The room we had faced out over the valley and mountains, an exquisite view, and had obviously been renovated recently. Large and comfortable room, with a large balcony; excellent showered bathroom; great lighting in the room. The pool is one of the nicest indoor pools I have ever swum in! There is a nice walking trail right out the front door of the hotel. The hotel is especially good for anyone barrier-free access or with sight limitations. Recommended.
This property was clean, accommodating and gave us a free upgrade at check in. I am more than pleased with the facility. The pool area was vacant except for us on both days, same with the bowling. Sure, it is a bit outdated. The views are spectacular and the room size is perfection. The bathroom (typical spray everywhere, curtain only) left plenty to be desired and the pool area locker rooms were used instead. Breakfast was included and the service was exceptional in every part of the hotel. It is equipped with braille everywhere, dogs are welcome and more than well suited for guests with visual impairment.
