This hotel used to be called Best Western, but it still has "The Best Western" standards. Our triple room is enough to accomodate us. Our rooms has electric kettle, coffee capsules , coffee maker, and ITV channels... thank you Lord. We were welcome by Vera at the reception. She is extremely accomodating, so is Mariana and everybody. Location of the hotel is 'amazing'. Breakfast is also adequate and their hazelnut bread is the best. I would return again, hopefully soon.
If you stay in this hotel, you will find yourself right smack in the middle of Bern, where all the action is. If you are in the city to shop, you will not be disappointed. Right beside the hotel are a couple of department stores. Behind it are the famous arcades with lots and lots of shopping options. Restaurants also abound in the area so finding a place to eat will not be a problem either. The hotel serves a decent breakfast buffet. The rooms are huge for European standards and quite comfortable. The bathrooms are very nice as well. Staff was very helpful and the hotel and rooms overall were very clean. The only difficulty I had was with the parking. The hotel does not offer any parking so we had to go park at the Casino parking which was about 3 blocks away. But if you come by train, the station is only a couple of blocks away -probably a 5 minute walk.
Large room that had all additions we appreciate (except fridge for those who like cream in their coffee). Quiet and fabulous location. WIFI was reliable. Staff was friendly. We didn’t step foot in the restaurant so can’t speak to that. Fair priced. It even has a gym, and boast 6 different types of pillows available for sleeping like a baby.
Great stay. Wonderful location close to train station and old town. Good sized room nicely appointed with Nespresso machine. Quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money. Would definitely stay here again on next visit to Bern!
I stayed for one night on the 20th of October. Overall, the hotel isn't modern but it is very well maintained and very clean. I've rated it VERY GOOD for the fact of it's excellent location to everything i.e. shops and restaurants. Despite the room facing the street, it was quiet even with the window kept open. I had the buffet breakfast but the selection isn't that much. The reception staff were very professional and friendly too. Overall, the hotel is very good value for money.
I visited Bern on my way to join my daughter in Zermatt The hotel staff could not have been more helpful. The location was fabulous. I pulled my big bag (filled with things my daughter requested) from the train station with ease. I completed Rick Steves walking trip of Bern the first day and was able to pop back to the hotel easily in The middle of that tour. Breakfast was substantial w smoked salmon, eggs and bacon, assorted local pastries and Fresh juices. Etc. great value. I popped over to Murten one night for dinner and the sunset. With the train station close by this is a great home base for touring the area. As an American the furnishings in the room are a tad IKEA but from European standards it is clean and quite comfortable and for the price it is a terrific value.
This hotel is a great value with the included breakfast it was a very good value. The bed was comfortable. The shower had great pressure. My only real complaint was the pillow was a little yo soft. I would come back again.
Excellent location and service. Short walk from the train station. Beautiful room with first class amenities. Complementary coffee and tea in room and lobby at all hours. Lucas, the night manager was gracious and friendly to this weary traveler. Many thanks to Hotel Baren !
We just stayed for one night. Fantastic location can access to every tourist attraction. So convenient. Breakfast is good and tasty. Friendly and helpful staff. It near to train station and many restaurants. Good food can be found anywhere. Price reasonable.
This hotel sits right across from the main railway station. We used Bern as our hub for day-trips to Lucerne, Zurich, Interlaken, and even Geneva. We were very impressed by the timelines of the trains. They were exactly on time, every time for the week that we were there. Simply superb! The hotel room was a little bit on the warm side at night, even for October, but opening the windows a crack helped. We had a room with a view over the rooftops. Very cute! We cannot comment on breakfast at the hotel, as we grabbed croissants and fruit salads on the go at the train station every morning, but the reception staff was welcoming and helpful with restaurant recommendations for supper. Great location! Good, clean rooms. Excellent for visiting Bern on foot too.
