"Don't bang your head," said Mark, as he showed us our room, "people must have been a lot shorter 600 years ago." The King's Head has got history everywhere you turn. The place is quaint, quirky and does a good line in creaking floorboards. Decent beer and the classic full English make the experience of staying there as authentic as you could wish. We paid £72 for a double room which, in this day and age, really isn't bad at all. Canterbury Cathedral is a 15-minute walk away and you'll get a friendly welcome from landlord Mark. All in all, you could do a lot worse. Oh, and I did bang my head....

My love and I went for early Christmas shopping.......a bit too early in the end but nevertheless we had great fun. Cosy little room on the street side which was amazingly absolutely not loud or disturbing. Bed was small but comfy.Bathroom teeny-tiny but. Breakfast in a separate room next to the pub, which was below our room made by a very lovely lady,we felt like we were having breakfast at home. It's a 15 to 20 minutes walk to the city centre so an ideal place to stay for a reasonable price. If you're looking for something different than the average hotels this is a nice alternative.Friday and Saturday evening the pub was nicely crowded with local people.Good G&T's. Friendly staff. Nice B&B for a weekend stay.

Randomly picked one night stay in Canterbury . The landlord and locals made a northerner so welcome. A quick pint turned into a great night of raconteuring and a warm fuzzy feeling. Totally recommended.

Stayed for one night and the place is one off the best inns I've stayed in. The rooms are quaint and comfortable, lovely building and the staff couldn't be more friendly. I would highly recommend drinking or staying here, and I am definitely coming back when I'm next in the area.

Frequented the kings head today as a birthday celebration with the family. Which included two young children (3+18 months). Food was lovely and great portions. Prices are very reasonable and staff are very polite and knowledgeable. Highly recommend and will be eating there again.

I stayed one night during a walk along North Downs Way and enjoyed it. The owner Mark is a friendly and genuinely sincere host. The bar was full of atmosphere with locals, good beer, i had a nice meal of liver and mash. There was darts going on plus two Sky soccer matches but the volumes were not loud and i had a relaxing evening after a long walk. All the staff were friendly and attentive.

Fantastic warm and friendly pub. If you're a lady you will appreciate the extremely clean toilets, always smell fresh and have little extras such as hand cream. All the regulars are very friendly and welcoming. The back garden is lovely. All in all well worth a visit.

A single traveller on a one night stop-over to visit the city. Pleasant old pub fairly close to the city centre. Couldn't have wished for a friendlier welcome from landlord, staff and locals. Good real beers in the bar. No evening food available at the time of my visit due to temporary lack of chef. Room was simple but met my needs. Nice and quiet at night. Breakfast OK. would be very happy to stay there again if in the area.

Very friendly owner and staff, good service. The pub is great, good food, a lot of friendly regulars. Very cozy and classic English pub feeling. Close walk from the Canterbury East Station. We had a great time.

Stayed for 1 night in room 2. The room was perfect. I slept well. If you are sensitive to noise: be aware that there is a busy road in front of the inn. Dinner was good. And the staff was very friendly. Only negative thing I have to say is that at breakfast the coffee could be a bit stronger. Would definately come again.
