Since 2001, for 16 years we have been constantly staying at the Hotel Le Pré Catelan, when in the PACA region - Antibes Juan les Pins. Completely renovated hotel nestles in a large garden shaded by palm trees and offers all the charm of an authentic Bastide Provençale 1920. This is a delightful place at any time of the year! Lovely hosts and staff! When we come to Le Pré Catelan we always feel as at home, in our own family. And we will come again for many more years! PS: Amazing art collection!
Recently stayed at this lovely little hotel on the French Riviera. Thought the hotel was a bit muddled. We had to carry our own baggage up the stairs and the rooms were quite old. Our bathroom had no where to put anything and only had a showere in the bath. The breakfast was fine but you had to cook your own eggs. The location was excellent and we were able to catch a bus or a train to Antibes, Cannes or Nice. Had dinner down in the village twice and loved it. The ocean was very close but a little chilly for swimming.
Visited Juan les Pins for 4 days in August. Reasonable hotel with good amenities. Clean rooms, quiet surroundings, good breakfast, easy walk to beach, restaurants and train station. Staff could be a bit friendlier and helpful. They are just a little aloof.
We've just returned from 6days stay at this lovely hotel. Everything about it suited us so well. It is comfortable, very clean, quiet and the friendly staff make it just about perfect. The pool is lovely and spotless, we didn't try breakfast but it looked good and knowing it's there is reassuring, it's served to an hour that means no early alarm is necessary too. There are some lovely touches that if they weren't there you'd not notice but the fact that they are makes the stay more special (lighting effects on the driveway!) It's convenient for Juan les Pins which has good connections elsewhere with the Riviera. We're already planning when we can return.
Not easy to find. But a lovely, quirky, quaint hotel. Small rooms with small bathrooms. So be it when you travel. Clean and staff very pleasant. The breakfast was great in a lovely setting. Too cool for me to swim.
Well......mum and. I have just returned home from yet another fantastic time at Pre Catelan. The sun shone every day and I was able to swim every day ! The hotel was as always very comfortable. The owners were pleased to see us and our room was perfect, the shower is a bit small and mum does have a bit of a job getting in and out but we cope. It's only a week and the shower is not that big a problem. Slept like logs as quiet,no noise . We hope to return next year all being well. Look forward to it dry much ,we love Juan les Pins.😉
Booked a short break away as holiday to celebrate my husbands 70th Birthday. Quaint little hotel set in a quiet area of Juan les Pins, our room was lovely and just as the owners described. All the rooms are different so rooms in this brilliant little hotel is not a standard clone of a major hotel chain type rooms. All staff are helpful and cheerful all the times, putting up with typical tourists who can not speak french very well. Breakfast is eaten in the courtyard and food selection is very good, with something to please all I feel. In fact this little hotel has only about 26 rooms so feels like someones home that you have been welcomed to share. Some people had small dogs with them and it appears they are welcomed as guests as well, so this hotel would be suitable if you travel with your dog on the continent. Hotel is on the edge of the residential area and sited away from the more bustling sections of the town, but the bars, shops and seafront are a short walk away. There is no lift, so if you need a room with disabled access you would need to ask before booking to get a downstairs room. We really enjoyed our stay here and felt welcome all the time during our stay.
Really enjoyed our stay... Hotel was beautifully decorated, quirky and fun. Staff were all very friendly. Great location, quiet but right by the town and the beach. We will definitely stay here again.
I stayed for one week with my 4,5y.o. daughter. I really enjoyed a quiet holiday. The hotel has a rather old-ish look, but you feel home quickly. The staff is friendly and helping. They print out all the necessary docs for our excursion to Alpha le Boreon. I didn't test the buffet breakfast, but it seemed to be varied and good, was a bit expensive though. Our room was a bit small for two beds but it had a good orientation. There was a coffee machine and a boiler to make tea. There was an empty minibar, which proved very convenient. I appreciated the bio-cotton towels. The swimming pool was also well oriented, with always some seats in the shadow while the swimming pool was in the sun from early in the morning until 5.30p The hotel is located in a quiet area, close to the "Palais des Congres" and the "Pinede". There is a tiny public beach about 5min walk, or else you'll have to walk about 10minutes. Mind the difference in interpersonal distance :) people will lie very close to one another here:). Juan Les Pins is a nice town, there are supermarkets and plenty of restaurants at walking distance of the hotel.
We booked a room directly via telephone shortly before our departure to Nice and requested a family room with a balcony or a terrace. They didn't have any with balcony left but had a ground floor room with a small garden which we accepted. We also reserved a parking space for our rental car. The hotel's exterieur seems well kept and the front garden is inviting. The pool is small but reflects the size of the hotel. We spent time there every day and it never got crowded. Good sunbeds. We never tried the breakfast but it is 16 euros for adults and 8euros for children (smallest ones eat for free), which seems to be the going rate in the area. Parking is 15euro a day and quite convenient. The hotel is situated within acceptable walking distance of the beach and centre of Juan-le-pain but not so close that you get the nighttime noise. We had room nr 01 at the ground floor and we suspect that this is the kind of room they rent out last. Access was impractical and we didn't really get the feeling of staying in a hotel. It did seem clean enough though but the tiny bathroom with no ventilation (did have an airshaft) will cause humidity to become a problem shortly, as I did inform the hotel on their own rating form. Whenever we showered the humidity settled in the entire room. All drying of bathing suits and towels happened outside and we missed a drying rack. Venting the room was not an option as it was crawling with mosquitos outside and they swooped inside whenever we opened the door. The garden belonging to the room didn't live up to the first impression of the hotel and was overgrown, unattended og poorly lit. If that part of the garden had been tended for like the rest it would have been a lovely place to spend ones evenings after the children's bedtime. We had litle contact with the reception but they were forthcoming whenever we spoke to them. On one occasion my better half was stuck in the toilet booth at the pool and the receptionist called for help and the caretaker(janitor?) came within 5min. We would not recommend staying in room no 1 but would love to come back to stay in one of their proper hotelrooms. Our favorite restaurants within walking distance: la Jétee (near the carousel by the beach) and les Arcades.
