Older property undergoing renovation. Had 10 people as we brought our kids and grandkids. Had amazing customer service!! Special shoutout to Armando @ the Magnus buffet & the staff at the Manhattan! They made our stay very special. Restaurant setup is great and you are able to visit a different restaurant every night without a reservation. Common areas are in good shape and dining atmosphere is unique to each setting. Infinity pool was great with poolside finger food available. Pirate themed kids pool was under renovation & opened the last day which was great for all of the grand children. Beach area very nice and no problem getting chairs etc. Been to Mexico a half dozen times over Halloween and seemed this time that numbers were down all along Cancun possibly due to the active hurricane season, Zika virus maybe. Construction remodeling did not take away from our stay here, but can see that might be a concern for some.

This was my third time in Cancun, we have always had a great time. Except here! I booked 11 nights 12 days, I was gone the next day! the bathroom were dirty, there were hairs all over the shower, jacuzzi was also dirty. The kids water slides were rusty, I found 2 bandaids floating in the water, I had to take my 4 year old out. Staff was rude. I booked this hotel because of the water park, for my 4 year old to have some fun. It's not worth it. I know it's Cancun and it's always hot, but there was no air conditioning thru out the building only in the rooms and restaurants. My son couldn't handle that much heat! Thank god we found a hotel the next day! spend your money somewhere else!!!

We had a small family reunion this past week. We had 7 different reservations and all but 2 of the rooms were hot. We had to change rooms twice to get a cooler room and even then they were hot. They ended up giving us fans. The pictures make this hotel look better than it is. The food was not good at all. The hotel need some major remodeling as it's an older hotel. Definitely not worth the price. The only good thing about our experience was the service. The wait staff at the buffet and even at the restaurants were very accommodating. Other than that, I would not recommend this hotel. The only person that truly enjoyed this trip was my 2 year old. Out of the 20 of us that were there, only 1 person did not have an issue with the hotel but he's two so he doesn't really know any better.

If you love your room to be 78 Degrees then this is your hotel. It cant get any cooler than that. We complained as soon as we got there. Went to eat and still after waiting for a few hours, no one showed as they said they would. I had to improvise and used the bunk bed mattress and trundle bed mattress along with the suitcases and believe it or not the hanging picture as well. pictures posted. The hotel is family friendly I will give it that but paying over 2K with no cold AC. Baloney! Only way to combat the heat was stay out of the room till after 5 taking cold showers again before sleeping. By then the temperature in the room dropped to 76!! They tried to give us another room the next day and the temperature was the same as the one were in. Why move when we unpacked. Not to mention they tried to move us 2 floors above the karaoke bar. I read the stories about that. So I wasn't going to let that ruin the trip and be the whiny American. Alot of the restaurants are out in the open. So this means you are sweating while you are eating in a fancy restaurant. Shame, but I will say some did have air like the Maguey. They had air and the food was the best in the hotel. 5 stars for them but for the others no air. It's open air for all except a few. Buffet was tiresome after the 3rd day and drinks are served in 6 oz glasses including the bars. I understand what they are doing but maybe in the restaurant they could of gone to a bigger size. BTW the time share room is freezing

It was raining when we were there and there was tons of leaks throughout the hotel. Hotel does not look as nice like it does in the pictures. Towels in the room are not replaced they leave same dirty towels when cleaning the room. Good luck getting towels for the pools there was plenty of times they said they had no towels or cards. Food is not good either!

I went on vacation with my son Nick that just graduated from Roosevelt University, Chicago. I'm' proud of him. We had a great time.

I would never recommend this hotel! as a business owner I do not like to leave negative reviews but I do not want another family to go through this very unpleasant experience. The hotel is very dated the pictures you see on the Internet is nowhere near what you arrive to. The hotel is dated, dirty and worst of all the air conditioning does not work. I was moved three different times. The beds were stained with yellow spots. As a family of 4 we ended up in a room with a king size bed and a rollaway bed. I was not able to sleep because of the smell in these humid hot rooms. I had to wake up to fan my son as he was sweating throughout the night and I had to rinse my face with cold water. I paid for a upgrade and this was a mistake because the only upgrade I got was a nice view in a musty room. This trip was for my parents anniversary therefore I reserved three rooms. I ended up having to apologize to everyone for a miserable vacation. This was a very costly mistake.

The Mexican food was terrible. That food in general was really bad even the buffet. I was expecting something better.

I will start off this review by saying good things that somewhat negate the bad: 1. Staff is so sweet and incredible. 2. Restaurants are great. 3. Hotel has alot of potential to become a very beautiful luxury hotel, but is not there yet. Bad stuff: My first room was awful. Rust and mildew in the shower, room smelled badly, AC not functional, but i complained and they attempted to fix the problems. AC was still not functioning though, so my room was changed to a better room. It was a more updated room it seemed, i found out the hotel previous management had been taken over so the whole hotel was undergoing renovations. It can be a nice hotel but please get rid of all unsightly rust and cracked/faded tiles. The hotel has alot of potential. I would stay again after the renovations because the food amd staff are so awesome. Bu definitely not now while the rooms and halls look he way they do,

This hotel is very nice , the staff is very welcoming and friendly. My room was beautiful, I had a club room with a beach view. The hotel is next to the beach with great beach umbrellas and chairs. All inclusive is great, and there are many food options to choose from. I had a great birthday trip :)

I usually don't rate hotels but this one is an exception because it is so far below the quality that we have grown accustomed to in Cancun. Before all the negatives I have to say that the staff does try their best and are very friendly and helpful. The food was also pretty good and the variety is good. Besides those couple of positives, there's nothing else good about this resort. It's old, and I mean very old. It looks like nothing has been updated since the '80s. Floors are coming up, walls are peeling or falling off, AC is sporadic. Every restaurant is in the interior of the resort which is depressing because it takes away from that Carribean feeling of being outside in the breeze in the evenings. I don't know what's up with all the blinding colorful lights inside either. I felt like I was in an old Vegas casino. The whole place had a depressing feel to it. The pools are good size but aren't very clean. I actually saw a bartender take a bucket full of discarded drinks and pour it inside the bottom pool by the filter in the middle of the day while my kids were swimming. I was shocked! That was actually the main reson I decided to write this review. We travel to the Carribean and Mexico at least twice a year and I've never wanted to come back from a vacation so bad. A few more points: the room was old and dingy but kept clean; bottled water is not included; no lounges at the water park, just a few plastic chairs; Orbitz rep from taxi company is rude and not helpful.

We usually stay at a "party" resort and wanted something more relaxing. Although this is a family resort, they have amazing amenities for adults!

Good stay. Good selection of food. Lots of activities. Great staff. Manuel st the lobby bar was awesome. The breakfast staff was good. I would say couple things need improvement - we needed to contact our rental car company and guest services would not call ( local number) without charging us, so that felt wrong. Also the Atlantis night bar was not working so there was no dancing place or more fun atmosphere place. Other than that all was great.

We decided to stay at this hotel because of The kids club and kids related entertainment. It's a nice hotel, well located, most of the staff is really nice but two things weren't great. We will not stay at this hotel again. First the food could be better .... not many options and after a couple of days you get sick and tired of eating the same thing. They should really improve the quality of the food. but most importantly we would not come back because we had her phone stolen inside a hotel and the security staff did not give much attention to the matter. We went outside the hotel for short while and recognize the possibility of maybe dropping the phone on the street. It wasn't until a day later that someone in our party remembered exactly where the phone was last seen. We asked to see the cameras and help indentifying the person who stolen my phone but security manager did not care much. He even started defending how none of the hotel staff would never still anything... why? I never accused any hotel staff of stealing...we just asked for helped indentify the person who did it. Nothing was done. Our car seat also went missing after one of the hotel staff forgot to drop it off at our hotel and as we asked about it upon check out.. no one new anything... luckily we found it behind one of the desks in the lobby. This was our 3rd time in Cancun and Overall we had a great time but this was the worst hotel experience. Next time we will be staying elsewhere.

We stayed at this hotel on our latest trip to Cancun. The staff was excellent and very helpful. Great beach area with plenty of seating available. The hotel is old though and needs major updating, especially the rooms and bathrooms! Our bathroom was horrible and there was a nasty smell from the pipes. Mattresses are really old and uncomfortable. The dining options are ok. There are 3 nice options: Big Ben, Samurai, French restauarant (no kids allowed, so we didn't actually try this). The buffet leaves a lot to be desired. Overall, our stay was pleasant enough and we spent most of our time at the beach. Had we had a better room/bathroom, I would give it a better rating.

We loved it been TO lots of resorts this one was perfect for families would definitely visit again

Place seemed unsanitary, main things didn't work in the rooms. I had a " VIP" I didn't get the the perks of them the day we arrived, the shower didn't work. Got the runaround for hours, till they gave us a new room. The hot water didn't run well on the new one. The food seemed very unsanitary, and was not worth getting the all inclusive. Plus the rooms seemed dated, you can tell they focus more on the lobby then anything.

Excellent hotel with perfect location. Very close to the beach and excellent service. I would travel again an pick this hotel.

Our family enjoys the smaller size resorts. This resort allows the kids to do their own thing and yet we can still keep an eye on them.

Great hotel with different food, great stuff. Rooms with Ocean view. I recommend it
