Cheap hotel closer to the nightlife than many of the other resorts. WiFi sucked, no fitness center, and the restaurant is nothing special. The swim-up bar and rooms are great, especially for the price.

This hotel is definitely a budget option. Significant savings compared to all-inclusives so guests may have more money for excursions and other activities. The pool is large and the grounds are well-kept.

The hotel shows some of its age, but the room was large with a full kitchen. The air conditioning doesn't quite keep up because the windows don't seal very well, but it was good enough to be comfortable. The room was a great value for the price and the location was awesome. It isn't on a beach, but it is very close to many restaurants, clubs and shops and bus stops. The staff was always friendly and helpful. I liked the in hotel restaurant and pool. If you are practical, not picky and looking for value, this is a good place to go.

Needed a hotel for a night, since we had an early flight. Decided to book this hotel because of the price and location. The pool is big and clean. Room was spacious and clean although a little outdated. Its close to most bars and restaurants. I would book here again!

Great lagoon location, short walk to beach access. Plenty of nightlife options.

The hotel may not have all the glitz, but the people there are very friendly and wish to please. Maid service excellent, Felipe and others at front desk are very willing to satisfy your needs/settle any issues if anyway possible. Centrally located to easy to go to night life, downtown, beach across street. Huge super market across street.

The hotel is a little tired but clean. Its location is its best selling feature. We were close to everything we wanted. Calm northern beaches were no more than 5 mins walk away (heading past the Chedraui). The Chedraui itself was fantastic for getting food - we got ceviche, pulled pork tacos and bakery goods there. Surf beaches were also a 5 min walk away just past the nighclubs. We had spent the earlier part of our trip at the Real Inn which was very new and modern. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Clipper more simply because of its location.

This was our 4th stay at this hotel (not consecutive) in the 14 years we have been coming to Cancun, so we knew of the rock hard beds. We also know how much all of the resorts charge. The rooms are very clean. The staff was great and very willing to help, the food at the restaurant was good. We had a kitchen that had all of the essentials, and there is a very new store (Chedraui) that is a two minute walk away. The store has two floors of food , restaurants, and general merchandise.

This hotel seems older, a little outdated. The bed's were a little to hard for my liking. But the room was clean and the property was beautiful. It sits on the lagoon and the random seating areas along the lagoon are a nice relaxing touch. The hotel is a block away from food and the night life! Perfect location!

The Cancun Clipper Club is about a block off the main road so it is not as noisy as some other places yet very close to many restaurants and night life activities. It has a small but reasonably priced restaurant. Rooms are clean and a good price given it is the middle of the hotel zone in Cancun. Very Kid friendly.

For those of you who don't want a long report here is my synopsis: Very typical Mexican hotel. Location not beach and big hotels now own all the beaches so getting to beach can be problem. For public beach go to island. If you wanting a safe place to stay and save your money to do things this is for you. If not then look at the big all inclusive properties. We only slept in the rooms and were out the rest of the time see all that the Cancun area has to offer. We really like this hotel but we lived in Mexico for years so we are use to Mexican non-resort hotels. Pros 1. Price: One of the best in area. 2. Rooms: Very very clean. Sheets in excellent condition. Great air conditioner. Bed, well this is a Mexican hotel so beds were old and hard but OK (if you have never stayed in a Mexican hotel it is very basic with hard old beds but normally clean with good general service with generally some type of odd rules. We lived in Mexico for 5 years and are use to these this.) 3. Pool excellent. Really nice large pool and very clean though a little worn. 4. Security: We left our computers and cameras and other out and no problem at all. 5. Staff: Front desk spoke English generally. They were helpful and they have a tour desk. We had them set up one tour for us and it was amazing (all day sailing, 8 hours with lunch for $50.00 per person with small group on boat). Maid and other staff speak Spanish. They have a gate with a guard so car security is good. 6. Breakfast just like every other review said. Fruit and rolls. It does change but not enough to notice. This little breakfast saves you enough to take an extra tour 7. Car Rental: $330 for a week. We got insurance covering everything including medical and zero deductible on accident or damage. Used National Car Rental and they did a good job. Remember to get from airport to hotel and back is somewhere between $50 to $75 so at this location renting a car is well worth it. Tours: We only took the one. Everything else we drove to and saved a bunch of money. Cons: 1. Location: If you want to be right on the beach this is not the hotel for you. 2. Rooms: If you want fancy rooms this is not your hotel. 3. Hot water: Water was warm but not hot. Like all Mexican style bathrooms shower leaked into bathroom. 4. Crocs. Yes they have them in the lagoon that the hotel overlooks so no swimming but if you are lucky you will see one swimming by when you are having breakfast. At night when walking on sidewalk beside lagoon you might see a few either out of the water or in the water. We loved them. 5. Entrance: It is just plain ugly and looks like a dump but once in the hotel area it is nice. MUST SEE AT HOTEL: Crocs, Sign in children play area about the crocs and the pool

It is close to restaurants, shops and cancun center. The hotel has a perfect view for a bay, not beach but you can walk to the beach just across the street.

Good location in the Zona Hotelera, othewise not so great. With a 3/8-inch pipe (really), the shower was unusable. The pool was not bad.

It was a perfect location right beside everything the bars, lakes, and beautiful beach. But that was it hotel was discusting the staff was one rude to my husband and I and our lady that cleaned the room stole money? How classy right but we made it the best of what we could!

Our stay at the Cancun Clipper Club was lovely and an awesome deal for the price. The hotel is situated just a five minute walk away from the beach and centrally located near lots of restaurants, stores, clubs, and markets. There is a city bus stop on the main road just outside the hotel property. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included with our stay which is always a plus. Free wifi was included as well but only works in the lobby. Our room had a beautiful view of the lagoon.

Basic hotel, but in great location! Will recommend to others!

Nice location, near the mall by Coco Bongo. Room was clean, but the beds were a tad stiff. Staff was excellent and helpful. Pool was nice sized, but only got to about 4ft deep. If you were expecting an amazing royal hotel, then this is not the place for you, but if you want something clean and economical, a great place. I would stay here again if I came back to Cancun.

Great location, walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Easy to hop on city bus. The grounds at the Clipper Club are beautiful and kept up well. The rooms are spacious. Our kitchenette was fully equipped. On-site Rays Restaurant offers great food at reasonable prices. I heartily recommend this property and look forward to going back next year.

The Cancun Clipper Club is a great value. It is located within a couple of blocks of great reasturants, shopping, and night life. The internet service is free, fast, and dependable. The price is very hard to beat in the Cancun Hotel district.

Compared to the other Mexican owned hotels in the hotel zone, The Cncun Clipper Club has an excellent location (within walking distance) to many shops and restaurants. The Clipper Club's restaurant, Rays, has good food for a below average price.
