Planning on staying on Isla Mujeres? Don’t even think about Chichi’s ‘n Charlies! The whole place is under construction (they are adding on an entire new building) and doesn’t seem like a safe place to be in and around. Small, stuffy rooms and tiny bathroom. The “private beach” for guest consist of 12 or so sunbeds with filthy and broken (they looked liked they have been chewed on) mattresses. They boost about having WiFi - only works on and off in the reception area - if you’re lucky. Price per room did not match what you’re actually getting! Total rip-off!!! Good location though with short walk to town and great beaches.

Location is good but place is horrible. 2 stars at the best. Manager didnt care. We had to ask for help with our luggage. There was a lot of construction going on which didnt help. The bathroom was full of ants. We ended up going to Ixchel the next day (next door) which was so much nicer.

First I would like to say that the Island is beautiful and the location is excellent, the ocean and views are dream like, unlike anything I have ever seen in my life, crystal clear water, sandy beaches and a cooling breeze. Also the convenience of walking everywhere and having restaurants and small shops nearby is also a great feature The food as well is really good and in some cases amazing. As for the Hotel itself, I have to say that if you are a person that likes state of the art facilities and great service, do stay away from this place, I don’t even mind the fact that the facilities were not first or even second class, when you encounter a friendly atmosphere that makes up for it. Unfortunately, that was not the case, In addition they are doing a construction next door and the noise is from 9 to 5 pm and the construction workers at times stare at the tourist. One more thing that I notice is that the hotel is one of the few passages to the beach from the people that visit the Island on a day trip, and they have to pass by in front of you constantly, this can get old very fast.if you are looking for a more peaceful or secluded place. From the day of checking until the day we left, we felt like our presence there was a bother, for every single thing we requested,we encounter an attitude from the person in charge and the waiters at the restaurant, and asking for anything was like pulling teeth I never felt so unwelcome in a hotel such as this one, I got the impression that the workers there are fed up with tourist and resent them for some reason,it is a shame since tourism is the # 1 generator of income (if not the only one) on the Island. I felt the same way in other places but also encounter a few people that were very nice and provided excellent service and were grateful and kind, overall I would go back to the island but will not stay in the same place for sure

We have stayed here before and we love the location. It's basic. A bed, a shower, a small fridge. We were there 10 days and our sheets were washed one time. We did tip everyday but that didn't help. We did not have hot water if you showered during certain times so we were sure to beat the rush and sort out the best times to shower and have hot water. We knew what to expect. What we did not expect was the construction with adding another building with more rooms. Starting about 7 am everyday was hammering. Workers slept there in the construction hotel. Gravel was brought in daily that you had to walk around. You had to watch for rusty wire to not step on. It was fine for us but some people might want to know this ahead of time. We were told that construction should be done by July 2019.

We stayed for 3 nights at Chichi’s n Charlie’s and the location was great for Playa Norte and the Hidalgo Street night life. The hotel was totally worth the price, simple and clean. Nothing extravagant but short walk to a great beach. Second and third floors have a great view of ocean from shared balcony/terrace. This is not a 4 star hotel but they don’t advertise it that way. If your looking to be pampered go next door or down the beach and spend a lot more $ or spend that money on fun things and be right next to the “posh” hotels using the same beach.

The location is the best part of this place. The rooms are nothing special but they were clean. We stayed in room 17 which had a wrap around deck and amazing views. There is a beach bar right in front and they have the best coconut shrimp on the island. The two for one drinks are good and they are cheap.

Who wouldn't want this view every day. All day 2 for 1 margaritas Food menu is simple and decently cheap for on the water experience. Located on playa norte (north beach) hotel rooms are on water front also.

I read the reviews before booking. I should have known better so I blame myself. We were hell bent on staying at North Beach. Our favorite place was booked (Na Balum). We visit 2 x annually so familiar w island. This place is pathetic. It’s sad that its location is prime but it’s dumpy and smells like sewer. Throughout our stay (5) days, we’d smell sewer coming through bathroom at various times. One night the stench woke us up. 🤢. The water pressure is zilch. It’s a fine mist in the shower and we never had hot water at sink. The hot water side was completely off. AND, There’s construction next door that starts at sunrise and goes through the early evening. The workers had lights on them. 🤦🏻‍♀️ It’s loud. We spent our 2nd day looking for something else but all we could find was pricey 2 bedroom condos. I should have known the place would be a let down when they didn’t even honor our reservation. I booked the rooftop “deluxe “ room w terrace. When I arrived I was told it was already sold. Welcome to chichi’s aka shitsville. We made the best of it—-left as early as possible and just returned to sleep.

Best margaritas you can find in the whole island. And happy hour let’s you have 2 for the price of 1. Definitely a must! and one of the best scenery’s to shoot a nice Caribbean photo with palm trees and clear blue sea.

My wife and I stayed ten nights at the end of July into Aug,we love the whole feeling of staying at ChiChi's,of course the location is a big part of the reason but were treated amazing well by the staff even in the middle of the day when their extremely busy with drink and food service. Our room was cleaned every day and bed changed, the staff works very hard at this hotel. The food is very good and reasonable and above all SAFE,lots of options on the menu,as most have mentioned very close to all the down town attractions, can't wait to go back.
