Days Inn Dalhousie2.5 out of 5.0

Dalhousie has few hotels and the Days Inn was reasonable for a one bedroom suite, so we booked it. But unlike most Day's Inns, no complimentary breakfast. Find it yourself. WE checked in about 5PM and asked about dining in Dalhousie. Every recommendation from the front desk was closed when we drove up except the restaurant in the Days Inn. That was mobbed with locals having a party. That started our awareness of how small Dalhousie is, an industrial town on the EEL river and outlet into the Charla Bay .. Our room was below reception-lobby and dining room on the ground floor which was easier for unloading the car into the back of the hotel. The room appeared drab with inadequate lighting It proved a large suite with a kitchenette with utensils. Two beds in the bedroom made it roomy The living room had sofa and chairs to make easy living. The place although drab was clean and well maintained. The linens and towels fresh and of good quality. Free wifi made an easy evening with cable TV . The ice machine was across the hall so we loaded up for evening drinks and morning water bottles. generally this was a good stay The weather was hot so we used the air conditioning.,
Excellent flexibility with 3 rooms reservation & different arrivals. The breakfasts at Chez Michelle didn't disappoint. Very good with my elderly guest. Definitely will return & recommend.
Rooms were clean. No contenential breakfast. Parking was not plentiful. The staff were very friendle!
We stayed there as we were in the area for a wedding. Jason at the front desk accommodated us through our stay! Great service!! Room was clean! Very good price as well! If you're in the area I recommend this hotel!
Standard hotel setup in Dalhousie, with pleasant staff and plenty of free parking. We had trouble with the card machine when we arrived however this was rectified the next day and our cash refunded no problem. Restaurant attached closes early at 8pm however the hotel allowed us late check in and was clean and tidy. Ample wifi which worked well. We had a pleasant stay and would return again.
The basement apartment we stayed in here is a jeykll and hyde experience. Some of the furnishings and décor are good, some not good at all. The bed and the bedding were comfortable but the carpet was frayed and did not fit properly and the curtain brackets were actually hanging off the wall. How the curtains stayed up I’m not sure. The TV is new and modern and the bathroom is fine but some of the kitchen utensils and equipment were old and broken. The furniture is oddly placed in the room and some of it is very well worn. The kitchenette is old but does provide a cooking facility. It felt a bit like staying in a spare room rather than a hotel. If you are not paying too much and know what to expect, that’s ok, so be aware.
We were very satisfied with the overall experience! Very comfortable bed and staff was great! Would recomment this place!
After traveling a day on the Gaspe, this was a terrific place to stay. A warm welcome by Geraldine on the front desk made us feel like special guests, and our room was quite large and offered a great view of the hills across bay. The great thing about this hotel is that it is host to a most popular restaurant, Chez Rachel. We walked by it on the way to our room and noted it was filled with local residents (a good sign). By the time we unpacked and came down for dinner it was still crowded, but our hostess managed to produce a table where we could watch the sunset and the people have fun around us. Dalhousie certainly makes travels feel at home. After dinner, we retired to our room to enjoy a great nights sleep. Our room on an upper floor was very quiet. The next morning we enjoyed a nice breakfast in the restaurant which again was populated with locals who made us feel as welcome as the hostess. Jemmie, the server, presided over things with a great good morning smile which captured our stay here. We will return.
Beautiful hotel, great location and clearly new renovations. Staff were great, food was great, price was great. Can't think of one negative thing about this place. I'll be staying here every time we go to Dalhousie. Our relatives will be happy we won't be hogging all their sofas anymore.
We spent two nights here on a recent trip around Maritime Canada( NB&QC). A fine place, featuring a convenient bar and resto. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Very nice people, as are the local residents. The rooms were nice, although in my opinion, a bit overpriced. It is located in town, but there isn't much to do here. A wee bit depressing, actually. There are conveniences in short walking distance( Grocery, Rx, Tim Hortons). I would stay here again as it is a dependable , clean convenient motel. I would not stay for two nights. If it fits your travel plans, enjoy your stay.
