My husband and I stayed at the Camden River House in June and had a great relaxing three day experience. The location is perfect , just a quick walk to Camden Harbor , shops and great restaurants and the view of the harbor from Harbor Park. The rooms are comfortable and spotless with top quality linens and all the amenities one would need whether staying for pleasure or business. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The extended continental breakfast was great, offering cereal of all kinds, pastries , assorted breads , coffee, tea, juice , hard boiled eggs, waffles, fruit and assorted juices. In the evening the ingredients for s'mores are set out in the garden off the lobby where there is a fire pit to also enjoy and relax with your favorite beverage. A great hotel to just relax, use as a base for day trips or for your business needs. The O'Briens

We stayed at Riverbouse Hotel 4 times now and we have enjoyed every visit. It’s friendly staff make your stay very pleasant. Every morning there is a great variety of food for breakfast. At night , they even have a fire pit to roast marshmallows for s’mores. The rooms are very clean and cozy. I recommend Riverhouse for your next stay in Camden. You can also pick small red tomatoes from the garden vines hanging over the railings. Delicious. Christine Bruning, Toledo, Ohio.

The Camden Riverhouse is delightful. It’s clean, a little funky and very close to town. Be sure to take the footbridge to get there. The breakfast is decent; one evening enjoyed the fire pit where you can make and toast your own s’mores! We loved the way the building seemed to rise out of a flower/vegetable garden. Staff encouraged us to eat the tomatoes growing on the steps to the entrance. The sunflowers are smile-inducing - take a picture!

Excellent location within walking distance of everything in town; very comfortable and quiet room with plenty of space for 2 queen beds and luggage. Breakfast was continental but had several kinds of bread, fresh bananas, yogurt, juice. Parking was included and was just across the alley that runs in front of the hotel. Hotel manager was very gracious and helpful. Highlight: fire in the firepit outside in the evenings with a full selection of ingredients for s'mores! Sink in room located outside of toilet/tub area; not luxurious but it worked well for us.

This hotel is in a fabulous location and is in walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. This is a pet friendly hotel and that is very important to us. Pets are only allowed in certain areas of the hotel to ensure the other guests are not disturbed. Be prepared for a small front parking lot that is somewhat difficult to maneuver. As you walk through the front door the first thing you see are the terribly dirty, stained rugs in the lobby. I do think the condition of these rugs should be addressed by management. Our room was clean except for the grease stains on the head board and the A/C control. We enjoyed our stay and really appreciated the close proximity to the center of the village. I would give this establishment a C+ rating and I would recommend this hotel.

The only way I think you would be disappointed with this place is if you went in expecting a luxury hotel. This place has the shampoo and conditioner in a big dispenser on the wall of the shower in the bathrooms. If you use that detail to calibrate your expectations, this hotel is about as good as it gets within that mid-range budget bracket. The entrance is bridge of over a creek, with sunflowers and other plantings exploding out from every side. There's fire pit out back where they build a fire each night and provide a cart with gourmet s'more supplies. There's a wall with musical instruments -- electric piano, ukuleles, guitars -- all in tune and ready to use. It just oozes with local character. And it's about 100 feet from the center part of downtown, so the location is pretty unbeatable.

This is our third visit to this hidden Gem that calls itself a Hotel - but really is more like a bed and breakfast that the impersonal aspects of a hotel often exude . From the incredibly warm welcome, to the non-assuming accommodations, to the “S’mores Fire-Pit” out back, to the “Free Breakfast Included” ... I can’t say enough about this place !!! It’s located one short block to Main Street Shopping and two blocks to one of the most picturesque harbors in the state ... It’s one of my True favorites - one that you will look forward to coming back and enjoying when visiting this area.

We are very pleased with our return visit. The staff are consistently pleasant and helpful. Rooms we have had were spacious and well serviced. Location is central with easy access to the restaurants and harbour. Convenient parking in hotel lot.

On our way to Bar Harbor this was a great location. Very friendly check in. We had a handicap room on the first floor which was clean and roomy. There is a great fire pit and s’mores set up in the evening but the patio is not accessible. Very short walk to town and restaurants and shops. (The park and waterfalls are beautiful.) Breakfast was good, loved the blueberry waffles! Would definitely come back!

Stayed at the Camden Riverhouse Hotel in their one bedroom suite/guesthouse at 8 Tannery Lane and absolutely loved the spa-like feel of the bathroom and the beauty and spaciousness of the bedroom and living area complete with quaint riverside balcony for two!
