With Marriott the success is down to the brand and what if offers Good clean hotels with spacious rooms well fitted out , a good spa, good gym and great service This is what you get in Huntingdon Marriott, very friendly staff well done
After a long and busy day of travelling, attending a Trade show, more travelling, getting lost and then finding our booked " hotel " to only stay 15 minutes, the Marriot was a relief. We managed to to arrange to 2 night stay over the phone and found the booking procedure very easy, the welcome at the hotel really friendly and the room was very comfortable. We had also booked breakfast which was excellant on both mornings and had 2 nights of comfort, perhaps the only slight criticism was the poor choice of menu for the evening meal in their restaurant, but this would not deter us staying there again nor complimenting on thier excellant customer service.
When I look at booking hotels I often do it based on location however this happened to be a fantastic value deal and in a perfect location. Reception staff were excellent really polite and more than helpful. The facilities are good there is a gym swimming pool and the hotel was very clean always a good mark of a hotel I find. Kim behind the bar was brilliant, in fact other than the prices and a bunch of young farmers that got a little loud and out of hand the bar atmosphere was good. The only negative was breakfast!! If I was booking again I would go to McDonald's in the morning cause I found it terrible and well over priced!! The whole thing just lacked flavour and the produce just wasn't up to scratch. If I am paying £30 for 2 breakfasts I want local well sourced produce. I will certainly book this place again!
Although in the middle of a business park this member of the Marriott chain provides all you expect from a similar establishment. The staff were kind and the rooms comfortable and well stocked with essentials.
Funny how the experience in a Marriott changes from location to location. Friendly enough front of desk and room service. The meet and greet was extensive...desperate to get into the room and use the facilities! Ground floor room very basic. Needs a refurbishment and modern uplift. Two of the oldest looking chairs I've seen for a while. Wi-Fi has to be paid for if you're not a member which is ridiculous in 2017. Ordered tomato soup (not freshly made and bitter to taste) alongside hummus and vegetables. Hummus sweet and sickly and not a good taste profile. TV channels are basic. Bathroom clean but I had a disabled room so everything was too low down for me. Check out at 6am was friendly and quick.
It was a very nice, comfortable room. They should look after the information materials like a roomservice menu. These were very worn and used. I did not use the Gym or pool but it was always busy also by local people. The restaurant has a very limited menu. When you stay 3 night there is not so much different things to choose of. They also had diffuculties with planning the staf. When it is busy you have a long waitingtime.
Once again the Marriott was up to par. Rooms lovely, clean, spacious, big bed and bathroom with full facilities. Staff courteous, helpful and always smiling. Food best yet,the Carvery for our Anniversary RAF dinner was delicious, service very good. A great weekend.
We found the Marriott Hotel pleasant and the staff are to be congratulated on their performance. They were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was clean and warm but nothing special. For the price we paid we would have expected breakfast to be included but we're charged £15.99 each for a full English. A bit steep and it was nothing special. We also paid over the odds for lunchtime snacks. The main plus point was the lovely pool and clean and spacious changing facilities. If unlike us you arrive by car you can maybe go out for meals but having used the train we were unable to do this.
Nice hotel, nothing spectacular but reliable with perfect bed and cushions ! The service is also very pleasant and helpful (especially Polish lady). Big, nice bar with short selection of English beers - unfortunately mainly international brands :-(. Good value (especially beds) for good price !
Two conferences two weekends on the trot, snd what differences. From a great buffet style breakfast, morning coffee with biscuits and pastries to buffet lunch with a pudding. Not just quality but quantity as well. The staff were helpful and polite The conference room well presented though too much aircon meant some ladies sat with coats on. A good enough venue that we will look to use Marriott again.
