Just returned from a 1 week stay at this hotel. I was very impressed overall and definitely would make a return journey. The choice of food at breakfast, lunch and in the evening was very good and never failed to please. Lots of choice for all tastes. Staff were friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Bar staff were great! Entertainment in the hotel was ok - some nights were better than others. Room very clean and spacious with lots of hanging space but lacking in drawers ( not a major problem). Safe, wifi, mini bar all included in all inclusive. Didn't upgrade to prestige and glad we didn't as very happy with our room, pool, cabana style beds and didn't think for the extra money it was worth it. Paddle boarding was free of charge and seemed popular. Activities included aqua fit, spin, body balance and yoga. Gym was a little on the small side. Had a massage in the spa which was lovely and good value for money. Would definitely go back all inclusive as worth it.
Great hotel. We had a ground floor Star Prestige suite room which had a wet room rather than a conventional bathroom, so ideal for guests with mobility issues. It had its own two sun loungers which was useful as the Star Prestige sunbeds with sea view in front of the room were generally all reserved by 8am. Our room maid, Pacqui, was always bright and cheerful, she did a great job. Service from the staff throughout the hotel was always first rate. The buffet restaurant always had a lot of variety and I found the quality always excellent. The waiting staff were always polite, smiling and very helpful - Umar, Sergio, Ousman and Ousmane were great examples of this. If we wanted to sit at the restaurant's outside terrace, it was never more than a few minutes wait before a table came available and the team worked quickly to clear tables, ready for use again. A la carte lunch options were available in the bars (not part of All Inclusive allowance). The Star Prestige bar service was always excellent. Both Mary and Katarina behind the bar were exemplary, they both deserve pay rises as they're such good role models! The waiters Nicolas and Usman kept people well supplied with drinks ordered and the view across the bay with a coffee or GnT was sublime. Mixed guest nationalities, some East European, Scandinavian, French, Dutch plus Brits too. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
We have recently spent 10 days in Iberostar Suites Hotel Jardin del Sol, Santa Ponsa. On arrival we were met with a friendly porter who took our cases from the coach. We were taken to reception, where we were met with a very warm welcome and served Cava and fruit ( I was impressed, I tell you - little touches make all the difference). From there, our room wasn't quite ready so we were told we could use the restaurant. Again I was very impressed, beautiful buffet style restaurant with ocean views. Again we were met with a friendly welcome and had a wonderful meal - this continued for the entire time we were there. After lunch, our room was ready and again, I was well impressed with our room. Our first evening we had a fab night, but I would say our only 'hiccup' was we were all inclusive and we ordered 2 white wines. Bibi (waiter) served us and spoke to a colleague in Spanish. The next thing a bottle of wine arrived in a wine bucket - all very nice and the wine was lovely. We were impressed - then we were asked to sign a receipt, the wine was €18. So I said to Bibi 'we are all inclusive' he promptly said 'is there a problem with the wine?' I said 'no, it's very nice, however we are all inclusive'. He said 'then you should have ordered house wine'. Then he asked us if he should take it away. To which I replied 'no, we have started drinking it and have already signed for it. However, it would be nice to have the option - and to choose a wine we are paying for'. He acknowledged this - Other than that it was great. Don't get me wrong I don't mind paying for a nice bottle of wine - for me it was how it was done. Talking to other couples that week, he had done the same with them. So great hotel, beautiful setting, overlooking the sea and landscape to the marina and beach. No beach here though, you climb down into the sea - which we prefer anyway (we are not beach people). Wonderful food, good entertainment every night and on a Sunday evening there is an open air cinema (there were a few technical faults, which I'm sure they will iron out), but I thought what a fab idea. Very chilled, very relaxed and a good atmosphere. Staff were great especially, Marina, Alfredo and Ricardo in the bar, Juan and others in the restaurant (sorry they all deserve a mention, but My memory is not up to the job!) Even the cleaners were very pleasant. All in all we had a good time with everyone. Overall we had a fad time. The food was the best food I've had in an all inclusive setting - in fact it was better than a lot of restaurants I have visited. We have enjoyed lobster, duck, paella's, steaks, an array of salads and soups and the deserts Fantastic. Drinks were also great, a lot of branded alcohol is included, ie, Smirnoff vodka, Bombay gin, Johnny Walker red label etc - some weren't included i.e., grey goose vodka and some single malts. However, you certainly can't complain about the all inclusive selection ( I forgot to add, they also stock your mini bar in the room, with a selection of waters, beers and soft drinks - plus crisps and nuts). Iberostar please keep up the good work, you made our holiday very memorable. So 10 days passed very quickly and we had a great time. So much so, we want to book for next year. We couldn't fault the holiday at all. It is situated in a quiet part of Santa Ponsa, so if you like a lot going on, you would possibly be better off down by the beach. However, This hotel suited us perfectly. I would highly recommend 👍👍👍👍👍
On the whole a good hotel with good service. Bedroom was dingy as blind was down due to privacy. Bath in lounge is not practical especially if sharing with other couple. We only used shower. We didnt like Santa Ponsa but that was due to the quality of the English people visiting it, so we wont be going back.
Not knowing much about this place we booked with a very small amount of worry but what a surprise. So we went with a few upgrades, All Inclusive and Prestige service and so glad we did because the service level was fantastic, the room was lovely. The hotel has two sections, one for the Prestige area and the other for the rest, the prestige rooms have their own sun areas,Bar, Pool,Bali beds and more but as Prestige guest you can use all the hotel. The restaurant was fantastic, plenty of outside tables, the waiters were fantastic, very jolly and very helpful but the food was fantastic..........great choice, different styles each day, very enjoyable but their little hidden gem was the Teppanyaki restaurant, we did have to pay but it was well worth the extra......the Chef was brilliant and the food was amazing, I highly recommend booking this if you visit this hotel. They have swim up rooms in the Prestige area but you must book direct to get them as our Holiday company did not have this as an upgrade option. The hotel is adults only so very relaxing, there are loads of levels but the lifts are very good, can be slow at times but wheelchair users could cope very well here. We are looking to go back already, we loved it, we loved Mallorca before but now we are only going to book here when visiting this lovely island.
Just returned from Majorca and had to write this review. Well .... Where do I start. On arrival we informed reception we were in the Star Prestige area. Immediately we were told to leave our suitcases and follow Tidi to the Prestige reception (our suitcases will be taken to our room). Our room was the Suite Star Prestige and we was amazed at the size, separate bedroom, lounge area, whirlpool bath, .... Unbelievable..... And a view to die for. Going down to the bar area again you was greeted by very friendly and happy staff. We could not have asked for anything more from them. They were always happy and showed they loved their job. It didn't take long before they knew our drinks! The restaurant has plenty of choice (even for the most fussiest of eaters ... Me), my husband however indulged in more fish than a fisherman could catch. Fernando made your dining experience more personal and plenty of laughs were had. We had decided to go to this adult hotel as it looked like a good place to relax ....... How right we were - from the relaxing chairs in the bar area, the smooth background music to the gentle noise of the sea. Words are not enough to describe how fantastic this hotel is. If you are looking for lively music, parties and all night drinking this is not the place for you. If you want to relax, de-stress, enjoy company of like minded people then I would highly recommend this hotel. We loved it so much we are hoping to go back in October and currently looking at booking. Thank you Jardin Del Sol and see you soon x
We travelled for a long weekend 26th - 29th of May, 4 best friends celebrating our 40th Birthdays. So glad we picked this hotel. We had upgrade to Star Prestige and it was well worth the extra. We arrived at 11am and we were taken to the Prestige reception , our rooms were not ready but we didn't expect them to be and then we were taken to the bar and received our complimentary glasses of Cava. The rooms are lovely well equipped with what you need for your stay. Clean towels delivered every night for both the bathroom and the pool area. Mini bar restocked each day. The pool area is fantastic, lovely sun loungers, Bali beds and the hammocks in the pool. The waiter Nico was brilliant, nothing was every a problem and by the end of our stay he had our drinks order spot on! The cocktails that are included in the all inclusive are brilliant, very well made. None of the mixed up rubbish that you can get at other all inclusive hotels! The food in the restaurant is one of the best I have been to , there is more than enough choice even for the fussy eaters. Nothing is any problem, the staff in the restaurant , Juan and Jesus always go that extra mile to make dining experience extra special. The views from the restaurant are amazing and this was a real highlight for us being able to eat outside and enjoy the views. There was evening entertainment on in the hotel at night at the other side which was good. We did walk into Santa Ponsa a couple of times and it was about a 10-15 min walk. Over all we would like to say thank you to the hotel and the staff for making our 40th birthday celebration amazing, we would definitely return and cannot praise the hotel enough. Donna, Leah, Louise and Laura xx
Wow some problems the management, a serious sunbed war to find a place to lay out by the pool, absolutely impossible, other guests getting rude and staff dont care, leave you to fend for yourself, others were complaining as well. I emailed back in January to ask for a late checkout due to our flight being late at night, I got the ok from the hotel via email, and then was surprised when I arrived at the hotel, it was not noted on our file. Front desk lady said she would review availability for late check out and would let us know, I followed up and asked every day that I was there and no one could give me a gurantee, I was not asking for a free late checkout, I was willing to pay for it of course. In the end, I was told there was no availability, which I suspect is not correct, again I had asked for this in January and told it would be available.
