We (3 adults and a four year old) stayed in this hotel (club and park) on an all inclusive week over Easter. It was very impressive. My wife and I had stayed there previously so knew it would be ideal for a child centred holiday. The weather was great and we stayed in a very comfortable clean quiet apartment in the Park which was a short walk from the centre of the complex. The hotel was busy enough but seemed to cater readily for everyone in all respects. The food was varied, fresh and there was lots of choice. All inclusive drinks and snacks were good quality. The children's club and entertainment set a very high standard, even at this early stage of the season - with a warm, caring and professional attitude from Lisa, Norah Johan and Parasto. Not forgetting the excellent team leader Super Alex (Alessandro). Special mention too to Lara in the Pool bar whose cocktails were always made with great care and patience. Wi fi coverage was excellent. We hired a car from / to the airport. Much easier, with Hertz, than the proposed two hour coach transfer. I can't think of any particular criticism. Note though that the hotel is rebranding to Zafiro and this is a transitional year
We stayed at the hotel in block 6 for 1 week, we also had access to the club and spa too. The rooms were very clean and spacious with a kitchen for self catering, although we were all inclusive. For our block we had our own pool with no lifeguard but it was lovely and quiet and was away from the busier pools. The staff at the nearest pool bar were very friendly and helpful, Fernando, Juan Antonio, Carmen and Wendy, I was sad to say my goodbyes as they were fantastic hosts and helped us enjoy our holidays. We were allowed to take our drinks to our pool side which was good. The club was busier and we never used the pool, however there was lots to do with the pool bar in view. There was a great selection of food available at the set times and it was gorgeous. The only thing I wasn't keen on was that a handful of waiters would reach over while you were eating to remove the empty plates of your guests, I found this a little rude and would have preferred that they clear the table when we were all finished. Apart from that, the staff are very friendly and are happy to help. The entertainment was not what we were expecting, it was very similar to Haven and I would say it's aimed at kids under 12. I would have liked to see some live bands or tribute acts. The waiter service was excellent as they came to your seats to take your order which meant you kept your seat all night. We took advantage of the a la carte meal where the service was perfect. Be mindful if you ask for steak as I wanted mine well done but it came back medium to rare. The wifi was excellent which could even be accessed from the beach. The beach is gorgeous but it can get large waves on days where you aren't allowed to enter the water for your own safety. It is only a short walk from the hotel. I loved the hotel and the facilities which were available, however I don't think I would visit again as the entertainment was not ideal for us and our 16 year old. I would recommend this to families with younger children though.
Stayed for 1 week in August with 7 & 9 year olds. Had a 1 bed apt and it was clean and spacious. The whole resort offers everything you want from a holiday when travelling with children, food was plentiful and varied, pools - there are many to choose from, drinks and snacks are delicious and the animation team are hard working and do so much to keep the children entertained. A special mention to Super Alex and Valeria- my kids loved them. Another great Viva hotel and we will be returning.
We returned this week from a 7 night all inclusive family holiday ( 2 adults and two children aged 16 and 10). We stayed in a Royal Terrace apartment with a roof terrace looking over the adult only pool looking out to sea, what an amazing scenic view!!! Location - Our journey from the airport was around 2 hours, the scenery we drove through once the coach left the motorway was beautiful and kept us interested. We arrived around 10pm and there was a cold buffet prepared for us with ice cold drinks, great! The location is on a beautiful quiet sandy bay with I think only a few hotels and shops. The sunrises and sun sets are spectacular! That said being somewhere quite remote can have disadvantages. One of our children came down with a tummy bug on the Sunday before we came home and we contacted reception. We were advised straight away that we needed to pay 100 euros for the doctor to come out and this would take around 45 minutes. We would then need to go to Porto Cristo for a prescription should one be needed. We were really shocked that a hotel complex such as this Viva complex so far from major resorts / towns does not have its own medical centre, especially as its very large. For this reason we would think twice about going again because things can go wrong and we take it for granted that we can seek medical attention quickly when needed! So big disappointment. Our thoughts are the hotel really need to address this issue as a complex this size warrants it. Journey - Jet2 flights - no issues, smooth take off and landing, staff friendly. No rep on the transfer coach though but we knew about this as we have been on a Jet2 holiday before. Pools - Lots of fun pools with different depths for different age children and swimming capabilities. The dome you see in one of the pools in the Jet2 brochure is actually bouncy, this was great fun! Couldn't fault the pools, they were well maintained and looked over by lifeguards. You are not allowed in the pool until the lifeguards are in place at 10am. If you like to reserve sun beds around the pool at 6am then this hotel is not for you. Towels and other items used to reserve sunbeds are removed by hotel staff and a notice left as to why this has been done. We never really struggled to get a sun bed somewhere which was fantastic. We did see hotel staff bringing out other sun beds to accommodate demand. The sun beds around the top pools near the stage need replacing for next summer as some are ripping and are not as comfortable as others. Free towels for around the pool if you are on all inclusive as long as you remember to return them on time. Food - Very good food Mon - Friday, poor at the weekend. In the buffet restaurant the kitchen staff I spoke to Mon - Friday were friendly and helpful. At the weekend these staff did not appear to be working and this was noticeable. The weekend dinning experience was not as good and the choice of food on Sunday was terrible, we were so glad there were chips! We ate in the restaurant by the stage one evening and the food and service was excellent, wish we had booked this more often but you had to book by 7:30am otherwise it was full, whats all that about??? I think it is because there are only about 10 tables. The waiters in the restaurant are brilliant! Two members of our family require gluten free food / drinks and the hotel catered for this need well. However consistency is an issue here, sometimes the food on display had helpful labels to say what was gluten free, vegan etc. but then sometimes nothing. It smacks of not being bothered! I don't think there were any labels on the deserts on any day, however there was a lovely young lady who works in the kitchen (possibly a 'junior' chef) who took pity on me and helped me find a pudding or two that was gluten free on several visits to the pudding section. I appreciated this help very much, thank you. Our room - We were in block 8 and was close to an outdoor bar and we accessed ice creams and lollies from here and water etc. this was very handy. Royal Terrace room - Wow! Spacious air-conditioned rooms with comfy beds including the kids beds, which were sofa beds. The roof terrace with the jacuzzi and quality sun beds was brilliant and our view of the sea and beach area was spectacular! The jacuzzi was maintained well with a maintenance chap visiting it at least twice to check everything was OK, very impressive. A word of warning though, the steps down from the terrace start as wooden however the last few as you turn to come into the main room are marble and if your feet are wet from being in the jacuzzi then you will slip just like my daughter did, easy done. Having witnessed this we cannot see why the hotel did this and why they don't put anti-slip materials onto the marble its a no brainer! In the UK this would have an anti-slip coating or wouldn't have been marble in the first place due to the potential safety issue. Staff - I've mentioned the kitchen staff already. The lady who checked us into the hotel was by far the most friendly of them all, she gave a warm friendly welcome to us all. Our cleaner Rosa was fantastic too, she turned our lived in rooms into a show home standard every day. She is a friendly lady who loves her job and she enjoyed our attempts to speak to her in Spanish. In summary we found the staff friendly and this made for a good atmosphere. Weather - Hot and sunny around 32 degrees each day, just what we wanted :-) Trips - We didn't attend a Jet2 welcome meeting but have no idea if there was one or not as we don't recall one being mentioned so we have no idea if Jet2 offered trips or not. The German tour guide we spoke to at the hotel on the Thursday offered us several trips at good prices but we chose not to go on any of them as we were happy round the pools. Jet2 need to do more work on their offering or lack of offering of trips we think. Wi-Fi - It is free and amazingly good everywhere, our kids were happy as they could face time their friends back home or on their holidays in other countries and access other internet facilities / apps.
We had a great stay at Viva Cala Mesquida Park, our apartment was in front of the swimming pool. There is a snacks bar nearby where you can get some food/ fruits/ ice-cream/ beverages. People staying at the Park can use all the facilities at Viva Cala Mesquida Club. Breakfast, lunsj and dinner is served at Club. They have a mini-club for kids just over the street and it was very popular. There are trails around the hotel, very good to go for a walking. 10 min by taxi to the city. Just one thing they could get better, the bar at the beach is not all inclusive, you have to pay extra if you want to drink something there.
I have been in the hotel for 10 days. Despite not having kids, I have enjoyed it due to the fact that the small apartment I was in was in a small building surrounded by green, trees with flowers and the swimming pool. The beach is very close and beautiful, it is within the national park with very high sand dunes which you can easily visit via a small wooden bridges. There is also the opportunity to do small hiking and reach Agulla beach or Cala Torta which are very nice as well. You can take a bus and reach other beaches easily so you can explore the area. Food is good and with a nice variations.
We enjoyed our holiday at viva cala mesquida park. The hotel is lovely and has all you need for a family holiday. We went all inclusive and can't fault the food, the only thing il say is that it got a bit boring eating in the same place 3 times a day. The pools are all lovely and fun for the kids but because they wernt heated my daughter couldn't stay in for long because it was so cold! We had one huge dissapointment with our room! It was directly above the plant room! Which contained all sorts of chemicals and the smell was leaking into our room! Hubby went to investigate and couldn't believe what he found! Pipes from our shower were going straight into this plant room and there were huge holes in the ceiling! The condition of this plant room was diabolical! The door was left unlocked...anyone could have Walked in there, an death trap for any child! The health and safety way below standards. Being pregnant and having a 2 year old we were outraged by this situation as we were breathing potentially harmful chemicals. We were upgraded as a result of this and the front of house staff were very good and we cannot fault them. However to be in this situation really did put a dark cloud over our experience and therefore we would never return to this hotel.
I couldn't believed when I arrived to this amazing hotel! It was my sister's wedding, although I'm from Mallorca, never been there before. You won't find another place like this , with an amazing view to the sea. The staff is professional and great! Is just a walk to the one of the most beautiful beaches in my island. The prices are very reasonable. The mojitos are the best! Try the mango mojito!!!!! I'll be back for a short vacation with my husband this year, as we now live in the USA. The director gave all the facilities for my sister's guests. They helped her also to set up all the wedding stuff and let her use one of the restaurants for the ceremony. It has few restaurant within the complex, nice food and wine! A total luxury at a great price! You can't miss it!!!
Great location, food and brilliant entertainment team. Tanya, Selina and the rest of the team were brilliant looking after my 7 and 4 year olds. They really went the extra mile and made their time special. Isabella was fantastic with the beach volleyball and keep fit. Will definitely visit again and highly recommend it.
What an amazing holiday!! Cannot fault this hotel and staff.....very friendly, spotlessly clean and the location is brilliant!! We had a one bedroomed apartment which had its own kitchenette - perfect for cooking with the kids. The pools are amazing and the restaurant on the beach was so memorable!! Cannot wait to go back again....
