Tropic Towers Apartments

3.5 out of 5.0

Tropic Towers does not have a very impressive reception area, it is small and cramped with a friendly cat and not enough room to swing it. Don't let that fool you tho. The rooms are immaculately clean and comfortable enough to stay in for weeks at a time without feeling boxed in and cramped. A sparkling swimming pool, fully kitted units including laundry and free Wi-Fi (daily limits apply) are a couple of nice features. The elevator isn't the flashest but it beats walking three floors and being surrounded by "virtual reef" when inside is pretty cool. Management have obviously decided to invest where it's most important, in the rooms you will be spending time in, the pool and surrounding gardens. There's not a whole lot of parking available as it's a preferred place for contract workers and their work vehicles get preference

We arrived at 7am after an overnight flight from Perth. We were expecting to be able to drop off our bags and then have to burn several hours before our room was ready. To our delight they let us straight into our room! This meant we could have a couple hours sleep and still make the most of our first day rather than being tired all day long. The room has everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Rooms clean and fully contained very comfortable bed and loinge. Close to town and airport Friendly staff most helpful. Great pool area and barbeque very clean and tidy. Excellent tour booking service.

Spotlessly clean apartment, comfy bed, washing machine and dryer, spa bath. It was fantastic! Very helpful and friendly staff. Carpark available. On a main road but I didn't hear any traffic noise. Lovely swimming pool. Handy to everything in Cairns but you'd need a car to get around but bus stop out the front too.

The apartment has a nice pool but rooms are very basic and apartments are tired poor amenities Road side rooms are noisy from traffic if you have a front bed room no double glazing fitted to windows ..no free Wi fi

Good location, decent rooms (a little dated but clean, well maintained) only for a one night stay. Had everything that you would want in an apartment style stay. Check in was closed at a certain time, which I wasn't aware of (wasn't communicated by the person that booked for me)

We chose tropic towers for its proximity to the hospital but we were pleasantly surprised by what was on offer. Good size apartment with balcony. We were cheering it had a dishwasher. The pool was great, spa wasn't working but that didn't bother us. The reception staff were lovely, as was the gorgeous grey kitten that sprawled himself out over the desk (looking for pats?). The only thing that we found a little odd was how the tv was positioned in between the lounge and bedroom. So if you had someone sleeping in the bedroom you couldn't watch tv in the lounge because if you tried to close the shutters to minimise the noise, they close immediately infront of the tv screen. Plus the speakers for the tv are in the back so if you are trying to watch on low volume, you can't really hear it in the lounge but its blasting in the bedroom. Plus its not possible to swivel the tv around. Very poor design.

1 week holiday in Cairns. Great location for getting out and about exploring the Cairns area . Apt had all the required amenities and serviced every day. Good sized balcony to sit out and unwind at end of the day. No hesitation recommending this apt hotel.

Absolutely appalling!!! Absolutely no sleep with the 'interrogation' lights in the carpark burning through my eyelids combined with the ruckus of very noisy neighbours Air conditioner which did not cool Filthy with the debris of previous occupants in the the bathroom Appalling shower which let water through the place Absent management but a dictatorial compendium stating the rules, regulations and penalties applied to inmates Free wifi in name only

We had a 1 bedroom apartment, it had everything we needed. A good idea was a table in the carpark where people could put their excess food items ie sauce, salt, dressings etc - saves buying a brand new item when you're only there for a short period of time.
