Marlin Cove Resort

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Recently stayed two nights here without a lot of time to spend in-house or in Trinity Beach. The apartment was well equipped and we could have spent some lazy days in the pool. Restaurants a close walk away with others at the waterfront just a slightly longer walk. Somewhere to come back to to relax.

After staying at the Ramada in Port Douglas (which was 2 stars at best), we weren't expecting much at Marlin cove which was 2/3 the price of the Ramada. What we found was a superb resort. The reception greeting was warm and friendly. We were early as we couldn't wait to leave Port Douglas. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, but they switched us into another room so we could relax. We drove around and parked undercover in the dedicated parking spot next to our room.. Our upstairs room had two balconies, one overlooking the lagoon pool. The living area is well designed, with a functional kitchen, table for six, and a nice leather lounge for relaxing in front of the 55" TV. The kitchen has top quality saucepans, cutlery and plates and a great non-stick frypan. There's a wine rack and two wooden stools for sitting at the kitchen counter. All the appliances are high quality Boch (washing machine, drier, dishwasher) and a double sided fridge with two large freezer drawers, and automated filtered ice maker. The air conditioning keeps all the rooms at he right temperature. We had to play with the settings a little as we found when we arrived the room was a little cold! The bathrooms are large with modern tiling, and a big rain and hand held dual shower. The facilities are great. The lagoon pool has a shallow beach - perfect for our 1 year old daughter. There are BBQs, tennis court and a lap pool. It's about a five minute walk to the beach which has stinger nets - so it's safe for swimming.

I booked a two bedroom apartment for 6 nights while I was attending a uni workshop. It was a great little place for my friends and I. Bedrooms are a good size and the beds are comfy. We were on the ground floor and it was lovely to sit outside and watch the wallabies come by. The pools are fantastic. Lots of shade in the lagoon pool. It’s a casual ten minute walk to the beach and about seven minutes to the uni. Would totally stay here again next time I’m up for a workshop.

Spent 2 nights here in a 2 bedroom apartment over looking the pool. The apartment was great, well set up, very clean. Pool was great, kids loved it! Would highly recommend room 205. Wish we could have stayed longer!!!

We stayed in 2 bedrooms apartment for 3 nights and could not fault this place. I asked for ground level and was given corner apartment 216 right in front of lagoon pool which is perfect. Rooms are clean & spacious and lagoon pool is great specialy for my little boy. Great value for money!

This is a wonderful resort and great value for money! The staff are very friendly and helpful with organising day tours. Only minutes to the beach, shops, cafes and restaurants. The onsite lagoon pool is beautiful! We had a 2 bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms- luxury for the family! Thank you, we will be back!

Our apartment was spacious and clean overlooking lagoon pool. Everything was easy to access and we used the tennis court on several occasions. Short walk to the beach and a couple of good cafes even closer than the beach. We found this an excellent mid-range option, the gardens and grounds are really established and well looked after in keeping with the Cairns beaches 'vibe'.

We stayed for 3 x nights in an upstairs 2 bedroom apartment mid week. The resort amenities were great. Lagoon pool is fantastic. Apartment was very modern and well appointed. Very comfy king bed! Very clean and tidy. There were a number of resident wallabies around the grounds which was great for the kids. Marginal walking distance to main beach but we had a rental car anyway so wasn't an issue. Close to major shopping centres for food etc. Bit of vehicle noise during the day due to building works around lagoon out back. Not major. Would definitely stay again.

The apartment we stayed in was very spacious and comfortable, quite modern. Had everything you need for couples or families. Loved the lagoon pool. It was too far for me to walk to the beach but fit people would probably not have a problem with it!

Trinity beach has everything you need for some days of relaxing holiday: a nice beach, some restaurants, fine weather ... We stayed at marlin cove for a week and liked the place very much. Our two bedroom appartment was well equipped and had even two bathrooms. Everything was clean, quite new and in good working order. The living area was spacious and the AC quite silent. The lap pool was great, the lagoon pool might be a joy for kids, the sauna should have a shower attached, one out of four barbecue places was in good shape, the others a bit negelected. We loved the wallabies hopping past our veranda and the birds passing by in twilight. But the "free wifi" is only half of the truth. Actually, you get 500 MB for 24 hours for only one device included. For the three of us that was inconvenient, so we bought a 7 day package with 5 GB for 30 keys. The connection was painfully slow and stopped to work on the second day for about 20 hours.
