Friendly helpful staff. We had a room with a nice balcony; great for early morning coffee. Three easy blocks walking to the 'restaurant row' on the the Esplanade.

The hotel itself is nothing fancy to write home about with its old, outdated, and 60s look. It's an adequate place to rest and use it as a base after day excursions. Don't expect to be impressed by anything.

If you are doing some walking and shopping this is a good location for it. Close to Cairns Central and the Esplanade.

I have stayed at the ibis a number of times and have yet to hear a bunch of racket from kids running up and down the hall like at some higher priced places.

I spent two nights here and everything was very comfortable. good location to shops and Cairns Central. I have stayed here a number of times and it is a good place.

Good location to CBD and Cairns central mall. Easy walking distance to shops.

Good place to stay being close to shops and CBD. Close to the Cairns central shopping mall and the night markets if that is what you like to do.

The room was very large. Probably could have put another king bed as well as a couple of queen beds and still have plenty of room to move around in.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was quiet, good view, inexpensive, had a good pool and a great location: close to the airport, close to beach, close to center of town. We only faulted it for an expensive restuarant which we never used, thinking it overpriced.

The hotel facility is old, so not everything is on order

The Ibis Styles Cairns is working hard to be a 5 star venue. It is a great place with all the amenities. They stored our luggage while we went to Fitzroy Island. They helped arrange an inexpensive shuttle to the airport. Only negative is that their restaurant I found to be overpriced and the food mediocre, esp. for the price! But I would definitely return to the the Ibis to stay there!

Location was good, within walking distance of most of the places you want to go to. One of the few places that had free wifi internet, which was a big plus. Beds weren't that comfy, but livable. About the only big problem we had were ants...lots of small ones! If it was just me, I probably wouldn't have worried much, but I was with my wife and 6 month old. I told the front desk, and they said they'd have the maids clean extra good, and we were extra vigilant about making sure no food was left out or anything, but the ants were still back the next night, and the night after. Also, about parking. The amount of parking the hotel has is *VERY* limited...however, there's some that's usually empty a very short walk away. Overall, but for the ants, I'd recommend this as a cheap place to stay.

Just a short stroll from the Esplanade and a $20 trip from the airport
