This was a great place to stay after a long trip in from the US. Convenient, walkable to everything in Cairns, and close to the beach. Good value for what I paid!

I absolutely loved this hotel and would gladly recommend it to everyone. Great wifi. Very spacious. Big balcony. Easy walk to Reef Fleet Terminal to do tours about Cairns. Lots of great shops and restaurants nearby!

We were going a cruise leaving from Cairns so only needed one night. This hotel is not right in the center but it is a short walk along the boardwalk. We needed a room for four people so was pleased with how spacious it was however it looked very dorm-like with beds in a row. The beds were not that comfortable. The shower was awful. Zero water pressure that dribbled out. Internet was abysmal. Had a pleasant breakfast in the a.m. however the young lady serving us seemed a bit confused. We thought is was very odd that we had to pay before we ordered our meal. Pool area looked pleasant enough albeit very small. All in all AVERAGE.

I will start this with the staff is so very friendly. But the location isn't central, wifi barely works, water was shut off for a day and no gym.not my kind of hotel. Pay a little more to be closer to town.

We stayed at the Cairns Plaza Hotel for 6 nights to go to a conference at the Cairns Convention Centre (about a 20 min walk). The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and well maintained, there was a pool and the hotel itself is right on the water. You could walk out the front door and along the Esplanade all the way into town. If you have kids it's directly opposite a great kids park called Muddies. We really enjoyed our stay and would gladly come back.

Wonderful stay, staff very friendly and helpful in booking diving tours during the busy Christmas holiday. The family room was a nice size with a wonderful balcony.

This was a good location and value for Cairns. The people working there were very helpful with getting around.

We were in Cairns for several days on our vacation in Australia. The Cairns Plaza Hotel was conveniently located to walk to shops and restaurants. The staff were very helpful in local information. The only inconvenience was that there was no wi-fi in the rooms, only the lobby. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay there very much.

My sons and I had a wonderful stay at the Cairns Plaza! The hotel itself is older but has a wonderful charm and very large ocean view rooms! Also have to thank the staff for giving a extra time with [...] you made our Australian adventure!!

Nothing fancy, but adaquete if you don't plan to spend much time in your room. The hotel was nicely located, just off the water and being on the far end of the main boardwalk was a nit quieter.

was very old, room was filled with bugs and the elevators didnt work properly

The hotel has decent sized rooms with a good view. It's a far walk into town but it's do-able (I didn't take any cabs while I was there). It's right on the esplanade so the jogging trail is right in front of the hotel. It took 15-20 minutes to walk to the wharf where all the boats leave from. The rooms are average- good size, old appliances, out-dated decor. The bed isn't comfortable. The front desk is very helpful. In general, it's worth a stay there to save money from the nicer hotels.
