We loved our stay at Cairns Harbour Lights. The staff were welcoming and very friendly. There was a hand written welcome note on the table in the apartment which was a nice personal touch. The unit was very comfortable with quality furniture, comfortable bed and clean bathroom. There was also a washing machine and dryer. The view from the balcony was over Trinity Inlet, the casino and the city area, and there were lots of restaurants within easy walking distance, both on the esplanade in further into town. We made good use of the pool. Thank you to the staff - you were exceptional. I'd definitely stay there again.
The units are spacious , clean and modern , brilliant location right on the wharf , close to a plethora of restaurants and bars and of course the boats for your travel to the reef! The pool is very shallow but warm and inviting and there is a jacuzzi as well that you can relax in. Bathroom is a bit of a squeeze for two but functional , lounge is comfortable and there is a full size dining area for those that want to eat in , the kitchen has a dishwasher, 2 inversion rings for cooking , odd there was no toaster though? You will need to bring your own condiments, omelette for brekkie without salt was not good! The veranda is spacious for those that want to brave the cairns humidity , we had a great view out to the wharf and to the hills beyond, perfect for sitting with a glass of wine. The unit has two tvs , one with Foxtel that pleased my sport mad hubby, overall we had a most comfortable stay and would not hesitate to stay here again.
This place is pure luxury. I had a 1 bed room overlooking the Cairns Harbour on the tenth floor for 2 days. I could sit at the table and look out the open balcony to the ocean below. The small kitchenette is well serviced with a bar fridge, two-burner hot plate, exhaust fan, and dishwasher. The bedroom is separated by a semitransparent floor to ceiling sliding glass door that allows the sunlight to gently illuminate the bedroom in the morning. A soft fluffy bathrobe is provided. Check in and check out were impeccable. I'm giving this place four stars because when we went to the fourth floor outdoor pool at night it was overridden with cockroaches. You can tell how much I enjoyed the rooms to make up for it!
Booked a cheap room online but still had a great view of the cruise ship wharf Close to everything - restaurants, bars, coffee shops, grocery shops pier and dive boats Staff happy to give us crockery etc to help us self cater! Very friendly and helpful and room clean and comfortable
Stayed at this hotel/apartments for 4 nights in September and had a fantastic stay. The location of the hotel is awesome. So easy to get around and walk everywhere. The rooms were big and clean and had great balcony views. Staff are friendly and helpful! Very happy I choose this place for my quick getaway (:
We had a warm, efficient and informative welcome to Harbour lights. The apartment was reasonably well furnished although did lack some of the usual things that make it a bit more like home (cushions etc), but everything was in very good order. Our large balcony overlooked the water. It was a lovely start to our break in Australia
I hadn't stayed here for a few years and was very pleased to find the high standards are still in place. Great staff, great rooms, great views, great location. This would have been a rating of 5 except that my room was brightly lit up all night by the lighting at the Hilton across the road. Time to replace the regular blinds with block out blinds please.
Great units and so central. Just a short stroll to cruise terminal and main street shops. Bonus restaurants downstairs so no need to be driving around all the time. Only downside while we stayed was the 3 false fire alarms during the early hours of morning. Wonderful outlook from the marina view rooms.
Whilst the hotel itself was adequate, I was incredibly disappointed by the aggressive nature of the staff. My partner checked in before me and advised the front desk staff that I would be arriving later. Upon arriving, I informed the front desk that my room had already been checked into and that my partner had called before. My name was even on the booking. Surprisingly, the man wearing a blue shirt (front desk manager) started aggressively shouting at me and accused me of trying to break into the hotel room. I was shocked at the immediate escalation. He was pointing at me aggressively and said “there is no way you’re getting up that elevator”. Another staff member came out from the office and casually mentioned that my partner had called down. The man then blamed a “communication issue” and did not offer an apology. This review comes at the expense of one man, the front desk manager, from an otherwise adequate hotel experience. I am disappointed to be on the receiving end of such aggressive behaviour from an Accor hotel employee. My partner and I travel frequently to FNQ for work and will be staying at the Hilton from now on. I do not recommend that anyone stay here due to the front desk manager.
Unfortunately the front desk manager was incredibly rude and aggressive to my partner. I called the front desk to let them know they were arriving and when the message was not passed on he turned agressive and suggested he was trying to break into hotel rooms. When the receptionist came out from the back and informed him that I had indeed called he did not apologise. This is the second time I have had bad service in 1 trip.
