We stayed at this Boulders because there is one very near us that we haven't been able to justify staying at simply for the experience. A couple 'oops' at the beginning; were told would be easier to get to our assigned room if we drove round to the back and came in that door (as it happened, it wasn't any closer) only to find that while our key card made all the appropriate whistles and bells, the door wouldn't unlock. Back in the car to the front, and were told that the door had been worked on (by a relative of the clerk) earlier that day and they hadn't bothered trying it since, so said they would leave it unlocked until late that evening. But two additional issues struck us as being rather strange for a place charging us well over $100 for one night (with an unlocked rear door for several hours of darkness). First, this place, like the one near our home, has no elevator to the second floor. They answered when asked that if people had a mobility issue, they would of course give them a ground floor room. But really, who wants to hump luggage up to the second floor ever? And then there was the second surprise: neatly placed on the bedside table was a card indicating who our housekeeping staffer was, and if we wanted to leave her a bit of money..... I can't tell you how long it's been since we've seen such an obvious request, and yes, it certainly looked as if it had been printed by the hotel. At the price we paid it is difficult to believe this hotel can't pay the help a living wage, and at the level of service this hotel presumably offered, it is hard to imagine that most customers wouldn't already know to leave a tip if the service (housekeeping or otherwise) was exemplary... really???? We're not likely to return here, and even less unlikely to try the one near us.
On our way to St Louis we stopped for the night in Ft Madison. We chose Boulder Inn and Suites because we had stayed in one in western Iowa that we liked. We were not disappointed. It was a very clean hotel with spacious rooms and comfortable beds our wing being newly built. The shower was strong with plenty of hot water. It was also very quiet in the hotel. That could be because there were very few cars in the parking lot so not many visitors on a wintery Thursday night. I would fully recommend this hotel.
Stayed for one night and was warmly greeted upon arrival. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was also good which included biscuits and gravy. Would stay here again.
I was very pleased with everything starting at check-in. Every employee we came across was very polite, quite nice and helpful. The facility was also very nice. The lounge area, rooms etc... everything. It was great having 24 hour coffee available and the breakfast was better than most other hotels we have stayed at. I'm sure I will stay again when I'm back in the area.
Large rooms with very comfortable beds and extra large TV. The beds are high, though, which might be difficult for a shorter person. Good, but not spectacular breakfast, and often out of things like bananas unless you get there early. Nice workout room, too. Overall, very quiet and clean. Nice front desk and cleaning staff.
After entering through automatic doors the friendly staff greeted me and signed me in. Everything looked brand new. The room was clean with a super comfortable bed and chair. Also, the temperature of the room was easily heated. Great breakfast in the morning!
The staff was amazing to my family and I. Great people, very nice managers. The new addition to the hotel was very nice. We used both halves of the conference room. It was very nice. Would definitely recommend.
very helpful staff; good location; comfortable rooms; newer construction and newer furnishings; plenty of space to spread out and unpack; good selection for breakfast items; eating area was kept clean and much appreciated.
Our stay was perfect. We were on a girls trip and stayed two nights. Lovely clean room, friendly and accommodating staff. Breakfast was great and served in the common room. Couldn't have asked for more. Will definitely stay here again.
Highly recommend this hotel. Recently remodeled. Comfy beds. They had helpful staff, great breakfast and a coin operated washer and dryer available to guests. ( Finding a good place to eat in the town is another story...)
