The hotel has an excellent location (healthy area of BA), walking distance to good restaurants, La Recoletta cemetery and mall, hop-on/hop-off bus. The best asset of the hotel (for us) was Anthony (I hope this is the name, the nice looking young man, having bear), at the reception: excellent advises about where to eat, taxi management; what to visit; and his play list sounded in the lobby was highly appreciated by us. The size and cleanness of the room for 4 was good, and the backside view showed me (European) an interesting mixture of Argentinian living.
My family stayed at the hotel for three nights. The hotel is small but offered everything that we needed. Our double room was quite large and offered two nice queen beds and a sitting area with a small table. The closet area was sizeable and there was a convenient mini bar. Unfortunately they charge for the coffee to make in your room. Small fee but annoying. The included breakfast was very good. We never used the spa area so I can't comment on it other than to say it looked nice. The location was good for us. The surrounding streets seemed perfectly safe and the walk to the heart of Recoleta near the cemetery was short and easy. Watch out for dog mess as the residents don't seem concerned with cleaning up after their pets. The front desk was particularly helpful, especially Marina. She even set up a nice evening at a tango dinner show and arranged for a car to drive us to the airport. We used the hotel to have transportation to the hotel from the airport and I would not recommend that again. They told us we needed two cars at $55 each and the cars were ratty and we could really have just used one. At the end of our Argentinian trip our flight was cancelled so we ended up back in BA and needing to go to a different hotel until our flight the next day. That time we just went to a Remis stand at baggage claim and they had a driver in a nicer vehicle that could carry all of us and our bags and it was cheaper. I would recommend that option. But, still I highly recommend the hotel.
First time visiting BA with our family and this place was great! The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. It included a little fridge which was very convenient. The wifi worked great. Our breakfast was included and it was just as you see on the pics. Numerous choices to satisfy everyone. There were numerous restaurant to pick from within walking distance as well as many sites for tourists to visit. Great location. The front desk was extremely helpful and accommodating giving us tips on the city and calling a cab for us. Checking in and out was a breeze. I definitely recommend and will return.
A great choice if you're looking for a nice simple hotel in BA. Good, spacious and clean rooms. Room service is a bit below my expectations but you can live with it. Quite close to Recoleta (cinemas, restos, shops, museums), convenient location close tu financial and business districts, malls, etc. A very good cost-benefit equation with this accommodation. Recommended specially to business travelers.
Very spacious rooms, good working wi-fi, a complete breakfast and well located on a quiet street in the recoleta area. The showers have excelent water pressure. The hotel itself is very quiet (I thought there were very few guests but I was proved wrong at breakfast) and checkin and checkout services were very prompt. A great option for business or turism in the recoleta area.
Excellent room - large and quiet. Very helpful and friendly staff who spoke good English. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is located away a bit further from Recoleta Plaza than other hotels but is close enough (5 minute walk). So it has a bit more of a 'local' feel. Would happily return.
Nice boutique hotel in Recoleta - very nice neighborhood. Upon early check-in -- directly from the airport we were offered upgraded rooms and were able to get in right away. From the beginning Max at the front desk was extremely helpful, as were other front desk staff. Thanks to to Marina for the great recommendation to the Piazzola Tango show. It was a great show, the dinner was good, tango lessons fun and it was good value for the price.
I travelled with my wife and 2 kids (7 and 5 years old) and the double room was very good, we have enough space, very clean and good service. The staff knowlegable about Buenos Airs and very helpful. Quality vs Price is a very good option.
Our one night stay at the Howard Johnston was great. Nice quiet neighbourhood. Hotel was clean and efficient. Staff were some of the best we have ever experienced anywhere. Especially front desk staff. Location is great for walking around Buenos Aries. $10 cab ride to cruise terminal. About $65 Cnd. From airport
This is a very good place in a good location in Recoleta. It is well maintained, clean and good Internet connection (I was able to watch a couple of movies in Netflix without any problems). The service staff at the hotel are very courteous, very nice and always willing to help you. I definitely would come back to this hotel a hundred times.
