Hotel Etoile

3.5 out of 5.0

The Hotel Étoile has one great quality. It is in Recoleta, a vibrant and secured zone of Buenos Aires. And you will enjoy that. Second advantage, not expensive, 80 dollars for the night. The room is huge, with 2 beds for 4 people! Why when I am here alone. Everything is working, Air cooler, free wifi, the shower more or less. So no critics bUt no charm and totally anonymous, an old hotel renovated without imagination. And the staff is there... but don't worry them, they feel so boring and no energy to attend you. Certainly possible to find a more exciting place to stay!

I've spent four nights at this hotel and while there are a few great things about this hotel, the bad far outweighs the good. The best part of the hotel is the roof sun deck and pool. If you aren't a sunbather or swimmer, I highly suggest booking elsewhere. The staff is also very nice but the rooms are borderline disgusting as are the bathrooms. I don't have super high expectations but's bad. The bathrooms are simply just gross. The shower tubs are molded and discolored. The carpet has stains everywhere and one of our rooms smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. This is hotel is ten years beyond the need for renovations. If they put in the money, they could charge a lot more since the location and pool/roof deck are simply amazing. It's just a shame, really.

Very well located: with view (most of other good hotel were surrouned by other buildings, with a view on the town direction rive, parc, recoleta cimetary. The near by surrounding is constituted of the Biela Restaurant-Bar, pharmacy, other restaurants for tourists, a shopping center and metro station at about 700 meters. Yellow touristic bus departure at 300 meters. The desk personal is very helful. Good inexpensive laundry. Good fitness center and swimmingpool with skylight-sun on the last floor. The prices are correct. The rooms are spacious. Very varied breakfast. One young waitress was particularly cheerful. The hotel is not new, needs some renovation, but this default is largely compensated by the above mentioned qualities. I would return there.

Great location overlooking the cemetery, but found the whole hotel very tired and in need of total renovation, the rooms were good sized and the staff very helpful and friendly. However the bathrooms were very poor even in the Presidential room which we stayed in, and the same story in two other rooms friends stayed in. The tiles were coming off and black mould and enamel corroded in the bath/showers and all the sinks were cracked, just looked sad and dirty. The breakfast area was the same unfortunately with chunks of ceiling missing and damp brown walls/ceiling around the empty dusty centre fountain. The pool on the top floor looked great but lots of tiles missing so decided not to use it! Shame as it could be really nice but just neglected, would I return..... yes if I heard it had been renovated.

Despite its great location, spacious room and good breakfast, there were big issues that made my stay less enjoyable as I had hoped for. Hotel is totally run-down and in serious need of renovations. Executive suites were very dated and the bathrooms were full of mold spots on the ceiling and walls (It was very difficult to find a clean one). Really disgusting! Besides, carpets were stained and faded, Frigo bar was broken and smelling, WIFI connection did not work properly and staff was very unhelpful. Rooftop pool was cool.

We always stay at the Etoile when we are in Buenos Aires, as it is located just across from the famous Recoleta Cemetery and next to La Biela cafe. The rooms are huge and there is a spa, gym, and lovely pool on the 14th floor. This hotel is a great value, but do not expect luxury! The rooms desperately need up-dating! The staff is very helpful and we were so pleased to see Nestor, our favorite front desk manager!

Elegant hotel with a great location! Spacious rooms, good breakfast, helpful staff. The rooms need a bit if renewal, but the overall impression is good. The internet is breaking down depending on where you're standing.

Had booked to stay here - and when my girlfriend and I got to the room - we found stains all over the carpet and furniture (and one on the blanket). We then checked the bed and found many red stains on the mattress as well as ACTUAL bed begs. We turned around and left for another hotel despite prepaying for the hotel. The man at the front desk didn't seem to care at all when we mentioned the dirty room and bugs - we said we were going to leave and go elsewhere and he said 'OK.' Would NOT stay here or recommend it. We shifted to the Epico Hotel - same area and much cleaner - same price range.

Block that the hotel is on badly in need of upgrade and hotel in bad need of same from the lobby to the rooms .we were upgraded to a top floor with a balcony that provided a great view bedroom large and very sparse. bathroom fixtures nol in great shape and tub could be dangerous for older guests. tub and toilet badly lack of amenities not even stationary,,bath gel (ok there was a small bar of soap on the basin)We asked twice for an ironing board and iron but it was never received. breakfast ok . Unlike other comments I always put a do not disturb sign on and use the room safe. with a greta location but proiperty needs some tender loving care.

It's not safe. Take Care of your belongings left in the room and in the safe. Aside from that, I did not get the "do not disturb" sign in my room. Anyway, the hotel is in a Good localization and with a Good view. Não é seguro. Cuidado com pertences deixados no quarto e no cofre. Vista bonita. Boa localização. Perto de bons restaurantes, bares e cafeterias.
