It's ok for one night for budget traveling. The room was very small. The bathroom was dirty - didn't clean well. The breakfast was ok. There is just one elevator for so many rooms and tourists - we were waitng very long time to get down with our luggage. Very close there is a bus stop - where you can get a bus to the city center.
The small reception area & the rickety lift may at first keep you on tenter hooks, but never fear. If you are not the one who expects luxury & can do with the basics, this is a great place. Clean & maximising on the limited space available, it provides all that a traveller needs for his holiday. The breakfast is good, with a sufficiently wide choice. Staff may not be overly friendly, but are helpful enough.
I didn't expect much, since I knew it was cheap hotel, but it was much worse then I expected. Elevator was more not working then working, light in most of the hotel halls is missing, so you need to use flashlight from your phone and it was very noisy even during night. Worst part is that people working at the reception are barely speaking english at all, and even if you try to get some information they tend to be very rood
I was travelled from Thomas Cook and they shared the details of the hotel before 2 days of travel date and I found very bad reviews, but actually I found every thing better than expectation, Clean bathrooms, hot water for bath, Good tap water to drink and very friendly staff, even they help me to pick my luggage, and I also given 1 Euros as tip to them which was not mandatory, I wish to visit again...
Thus hotel is a nightmare in every sense starting with the people at the reception, the single elevator (tht you get to see in old horror movies) and the room us soo tiny tht it's just useless, the mattresses were in a pathetic condition as well as the linen. The breakfast is horrible.. Nothing about thus hotel is positive even if you think. Pls never ever go to this hotel and especially with family.
Pls don't go with family or even frds its very wrost hotel in Budapest.. low quality rooms breakfast nd net is not working anywhere. If u r with family so don't even think of it. Ones u enter in hotel u feel u r not in Budapest u r in seriya or Iraq..
It is an okay place to sleep at night and not much else. Bathrooms were outdated and didn't seem very fresh. The hotel is not well maintained. The roof in the hallway was damaged and closing the windows was tricky. Location is far from city center. It took 15 euro by cab to reach Chain Bridge. Public transport options were complicated and we did not try. The only good thing about the location was a Tesco market nearby where we could buy provisions for our onward journey.
I slept there well for a night with family. Shopping center is near, city/downtown is far away. Breakfast was below the average, but I managed to find something to eat. For coffee you need to pay extra. No WiFi. Parking, TV, air conditioner.. are all for an extra fee.
Have been here for weekend visit. Hotel is decent ONLY for one night and very cheap. There is a bus station near and mc donalds (if you love fast food). I didn't like breakfast but stuff was very nice.
I had weekend escape with big group from my work. We stayed in hotel Polus for only one night. Check in was at 2 pm, we got our key as quickly as it was possible. I stayed in one bed room, which was quite nice, I can't complain. Just, wi-fi signal is so bad in rooms. If you stay in Budapest more than one night, its better to get some hotel more near to centre of the city. Polus is quite far, you need to go with public transport at less half hour.
