At least this looked and acted like a hotel compared to the despair hotel we'd been to in Prague. But basic facilities. Could open the window for fresh air. It was clean and comfortable bed but aesthetically it was lacking. Don't pay extra for breakfast unless you want a hard boiled egg, slice of bologna and toast. It was in a desolate graffiti drawn area with absolutely nothing nearby. Subway ride into town for a bar. 20 minutes minimum. Good lunch if you stay.
Spent 10 nights here during April/May. Location is a bit out in the sticks but it is only 10 minutes walk max from Nepliget underground on the M3 line. So easy access everywhere. Staff very friendly and helpful and spoke reasonable English, some good and some OK. Rooms were clean but furnished in an old fashioned manner so looked a bit tired but had everything one could need. There was fast wi-fi in the rooms which was helpful. So summarising 2 star hotel, helpful staff and great value.
Nice size bedroom that was the only good thing about bedroom The Carpet was dirty No fridge/ safe /aircon /as advertised Asked about fridge they said it was broken no replacement Bed was rock hard quilts where cheap and nasty pillows so flat Furniture needed changing old marked Electric Plugs where loose Telly was as old as me and only 4 channels Bathroom tiles cracked spongy back splash marked and damaged skirting needs replacing Shower head holder missing took 2 days to replace then put up over 6 /1/2 ins high which is normal but you couldn't adjust it it just went straight across over top of shower screen had to wet my self first then soap and shampoo myself then rinse and repeat for conditioner And the so called BREAKFAST it was served between 7 to 10 we went down 9.25 had choice of coffee cereal asked for more bread for toast WAS TOLD WE HAVE PUT ALLOTTED AMOUNT OF BREAD NO MORE Asked for more milk still waiting Only hard boiled eggs left no bacon sausages etc left And for this they where charging 5€ Eat elsewhere after this did.t pay so €5 It was in an old part off Hungary so it was nice to see the original buildings but very far out had to either taxi or tram to go anywhere nothing much in walking distance And they don't change money that's a first every other hotel I've stayed in have Needles to say I WON'T BE BACK
One of the worst three star hotels I'v been so far. No heating in bathroom to dry your towels, tv is from last century and has no reception, no ventilation in the room. Overall it more like 2 star or less! I understand that as we are staying here turing our tourist tour in Hungary and travel agensies make their own budget deals with the hotel, but I haven't heard before that clean and try towels are a part of any deal. Because the hotel didn't want to give us new towels even though they were soken wet, as there is no place to dry them. Also the wifi was time to times off. Only good thing about the hotel is the breakfast with small buffet.
There were 8 of us, and when we arrived there was a problem with the rooms we were shown into breakfast room and told to help ourselves to something from hot drink machine, before we finished our coffees rooms were sorted. They were tired but cleaner than was expecting. Some of us slept well on the very hard beds others not so well. Breakfast was nice plenty of continental stuff and a good coffee machine for capuchinos hot chocolates etc (although if used micro and toaster at same time tripped electric) it's in a quiet area of close to the metros and stadium. I would go again very friendly staff. If your expecting the ritz don't come here pay for that 😀this was a good friendly hotel for the price
The locality of the hotel is brilliant. Come out of the hotel and turn right, walk all the way to the end of the road up to the T junction then turn left, at the end of this road is Nepliget Metro station which takes you to the city centre. Also you can get the metro from there to Kabonya -Kispest where you can get the bus 200E to the airport. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Its a real shame about the state of the hotel rooms which boils down to poor cleaning standard. The room furniture needs updating. We are a couple but were given a room with two single beds pushed together and separate single duvet covers, this was the same in both rooms and of course kept dropping in between the two beds at night. Breakfast was adequate though if you are vegan like me there was only apples, sliced cucumber, tomatoes and pepper and bread. NO smoking signs in the hall way but could smell smoking in the hall way. We still stayed the full two days but will not be returning to this hotel unfortunately. .
We stayed there during December, paid 39 EUR for a standard double for 2, include breakfast and all necessary taxes. Price was include wi-fi (working properly, speed around 20Mb up down and 5Mb up), parking (small garden at the backyard), breakfast (buffet style with sausages, eggs, Hungarian salami, cheese, yoghurt, etc, hot and cold and coffee was great!). Metro M3 is just a short 5 min. walk from the hotel, downtown (Deák sq) easily reach by a 10 minutes ride. So location is quiet.
Stayed at the Gloria , very easy to get metro to town . Breakfast was cheese , sausage , bread and jam with boiled eggs . Thank god I took a spare kettle as not provided I can't go without my tea . Tv no English not even the news so bring movies , wifi good in all not bad at all and found it very good for the no 1 tram and metro station
We only stayed here two nights, and despite the comments previously, this was a sweet hotel which was very clean and comfortable. Slept like a log here and the service was very good. If you want privacy, this is the place. Breakfast and dinner available and you can pay in Euros.
Stayed here for 4 nights and must say we enjoyed it. Yes there's a few silly little things that we could find fault with if we wanted, like you can in any hotel but for the price we paid they're not even worth writing about. Location is good, quiet peaceful area and metro about 5 min walk and easy to get to everywhere we wanted to go, breakfast simple tasty continental style and always kept topped up. Had been suffering with back injury on arrival and was little apprehensive about unknown bed, after 4 nights stay feeling much better so beds must be ok. And probably one of the best things about the hotel are the helpful friendly staff, mentioned we were a little chilly so someone went out and bought 2 new blankets for us, that's 5* treatment. I see the management reply to posts so I would like to thank you and your staff for a lovely 4 night stay in Budapest.
