The hotel was excellent , the problem was the location , far from the city center . Excellent hotel good service . excellent breakfast . near of a great mall , also near of good casino , the weather was also good
We stayed here for 2 nights having come to Budapest to see the Xmas Markets. The hotel staff were very helpful and the hotel is not too far from the Metro which you really need to use to get to the markets. If you turn left outside the hotel there is a shopping mall and some nice restaurants and bars. The room itself was clean but basic. Our net curtains were ripped and the pillows very flat. Breakfast was OK just seemed that the staff were struggling with the volume of people and not replacing dishes very quickly. The toaster is not suitable for hotel use and slowed the whole process down.
From where to begin, first things first, the hotel is by far the best one I've ever been to. The staff was very helpful with everything and was easy to talk to, something not very common in Hungary apparently. Secondly, the hotel was not the most luxurious hotel IN THE AREAN but for the price I paid for 12 days, believe me I got what I paid for with more to spare. Also, the hotel's location is so convenient it probably saved me hundreds of dollars moving around the city with my fiancée. Corvin plaza (a decent size mall) is a minute walk from the hotel, which means coffee shops, pharmacies, supermarkets and all kinds of stores were easy to get to. Another available facility was the metro station and the tram lines which were 5 minutes from the hotel. Lastly, the one thing that was the most useful and helped us a lot with getting around the city was the the travel buddy, "Handy Smartphone" (google it), the hotel provides in all rooms FREE of charge.
The staff were consistently helpful and accurate, providing a gluten free breakfast for my friend. Normal breakfasts were more than ample, cereals, yogurts, cooked sausages & eggs. The room was kept clean with tea and coffee. The hotel provides a smart phone to act as a local guide and it worked well. The location is between two stops on the metro line M3, about 5 minutes walk to either. Close by are trams 4 & 6.
We recently stayed at the Hotel City Inn on a 3 night break and it was wonderful from the moment of check in to checkout, the staff are very attentive and helpful and the hotel boasts operating a 24 hour bar. The location of the hotel is excellent with bars and restaurants nearby as well as being adjacent to a shopping mall and not far from the metro station. Barny on reception was exceptional and took a great amount of time explaining where to go and how to get to places of interest. I would 100% stay at this hotel again and would recommend visitors to Budapest to do the same. Only one downside they have a 10am checkout time which needs to be extended to 11 - 12am.
Having read other reviews I am a bit confused by the 'excellent' ratings. For me it was only average. On the plus side: Good sized, clean rooms. Good bathroom facilities (non fogging mirror and powerful, hot shower) Friendly, helpful staff. On the minus side: I did not like the location...area felt scruffy and run down...a disappointment, and it's quite a hike to the nice parts! Turning left out of the hotel provides a nicer route and takes you through a shopping centre rather than a series of scruffy side streets. Poor breakfast selection. Tiny duvet! More bedding provided on request though. Double bed was 2 singles pushed together like in a lot of hotels, which never seems very comfortable, but that's a personal preference. On the whole, it was ok...good value but for me the location was a major let down.
The room was warm and clean with en-suite, beds made daily and mini bar and coffee/tea making facilities. Breakfast gave numerous choices and tasty food, but didn't do evening meals, however there were several good restaurants in a nearby square and shopping centre with a food hall. The hotel was within walking distance of the metro and the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. There was a sauna which could be booked for private use.
Very good Hotel for the money, close to underground and trams to get you more central. Staff friendly and will help if any problems. Also right next to modern shopping mall, lots of food choices on top floor and clothes etc and essentials. Very good.
The hotel was in a good position , room warm and comfortable with kettle etc and fridge . The staff were friendly and helpful . Breakfast had good choices , not great coffee but that's not the end of the world . We got a taxi back from the centre which was about £4 between us . Very enjoyable stay and would recommend it .
We booked this hotel because it had good reviews, and it didn't disappoint. We were in room 113, and it was a nice size, with a nice shower. The room was very modern, as was the bathroom. There was a manual in the room as a guide, and it was in English, Dutch and Hungarian. It was located right next to a shopping centre, and this was a great centre. The location was great, and it was three stops, five minutes maximum to the centre of the city. The only downside was breakfast, it was an odd selection. I wouldn't have paid for breakfast, but it was included within our cost. The wifi was questionable at times, but other than that, it was a great hotel!
