Some may not know that Budapest is in the throes of a heatwave. This hotel has airconditioning and cold beer. OK, the beds are comfortable, the rooms quiet, the breakfast fine, the staff v helpful, the location great for public transport and shopping and dining but the air-con is all that mattered to us. We'd stay here again.
The staff are definitely four star, they are friendly, helpful and above all professional, nothing is a problem for them, breakfast was good and plenty food available. This hotel itself however is not four stars, there were two buckets standing outside the ladies toilet by the dining room in the lobby, that caught the drip down from the ceiling that remained in place for the duration of our four night stay. The bedroom was extremely small, plaster was falling off the wall behind the main bedroom door, you literally stood in the bathroom and just turned in a circle. I would also have like tea and coffee facilities in the room. There was a fridge in the room which was handy for keeping our bottled water cool. The room was clean but not cleaned every day during our stay. The hotel is located right next to a bank, shopping centre, and an array of restaurants, it is also close to the Corvin Negyed metro (M3) if you walk right through the shopping mall it is only a 5 to 7 minute walk.
Stayed at the City Inn for 4 nights. Was originally given a double room for my son and myself but was able to switch rooms the 2nd night. Very helpful staff and good choice fr breakfast. Quiet location but within easy reach of the city centre
We stayed at the Hotel City Inn in Budapest for four nights in July. The hotel staff were brilliant, always helpful and ready to give recommendations. The hotel room was large, the beds comfortable. The room had a safe, and plenty of space in the wardrobe for clothes. There was plenty of storage overall. The room had a dressing table, with a large mirror. The bathroom was large, specifically the shower which had a towel rack inside. The towels were changed regularly, and the beds made daily. The room was clean and smart. The room had air con, which was much needed in Budapest in July! The breakfast buffet was fine, but the choice was not extensive. The hotel has a bar with plenty of seating in the reception area. The hotel provides everyone with free wifi. The hotel is close to Corvin metro station, which links to most major areas in the city. It is also next door to Corvin Mall, and a plaza with some restaurants, bars and cafes. However, the choice is not extensive, and the 'inner city' part of Pest is not within walking distance, so you may miss out on a range of bars and restaurants if you are not willing to use the metro.
This hotel is in a great location, only 5 minutes walk from the nearest metro line (M3, Corvin Negyed). The rooms are quite spacious with a hairdryer, mini fridge, tv, bath, shower, wardrobe and dressing table. Hotel staff were always polite, approachable and helpful! Only negative would be the breakfast. It did have a variety including cereals, fruit and a limited amount of hot food, however it wasn't the tastiest food. Tip: Buy either a 24 hour or 72 hour travel card from the metro station and you can use any public transport. Very cheap too!
I have stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during a city break in Budapest. Yhe location is great, near to Corvin metro station and the mall. I had a room at the 1st floor facing the backyard. It was clean and warm. I did not like the noice the doors did at night. The breakfast was amazing and the staff very helpful.
It was a good hotel but definitely not a 4-star! It was clean and smart but the room was small, the bathroom has no ventilation and breakfast was average. The staff was really friendly and helpful but that doesn't make the hotel a 4-star one!
We booked two premium rooms for four nights. Our rooms were clean and modern. The problem was that the toiletries and tea/ coffee were not replenished after the first day that we used them. On the second day we asked the reception for coffee only to be told that house keeping will replenish it in the following morning. They did not. Even the toilet roll was not replenished and sheets not changed even though we put the sign for our rooms to be cleaned on the door. So house keeping has let this hotel down and surely the receptionist could have given us some more coffee? We also had a problem with the key card for our rooms. They would not open the door until we tried a dozen times and had to go up and down to reception to ask someone to let us into our rooms! Location wise the hotel is good. Plenty of shops. restaurants and close to the metro station. This hotel lacks in customer service. We paid for premium rooms with a kettle that was useless without tea/coffee. We had to buy our own tea/coffee and milk and shower gel. Disappointed is the best way to describe our stay
Hotel is located in a new building, surrounded by malls, cafes and shops and only 20 minutes to walk from city center. Rooms are big and clean, bed is very comfortable. Breakfast also is very good, big variety of tasty dishes. Perfect for a weekend in Budapest!
Nice personal, good food at breakfast. The room was clean, towels change every day. The location is a little bit far from the center, but you can take the subway, corvin station it is at five minutes walk.
