Great Buffet Breakfast. Clean Rooms. Double Pane Windows. Old Style Charm. Perfect spot to enjoy Budapest. Transportation close, restaurants, historic sites and pedestrian street just blocks away

Great location. Bare bones hotel with no charm. Interior is nothing like the exterior.

Staffs are very helpful and polite.Room was very clean.I recommend you ask for the room where you can see the spectacular view of Buda section.Highly recommended and price are very reasonable.

Great hotel staffs particularly Gabor and Belo. They should get promotion and a raise!!

Not the easiest place to find, but well located and right in the center of things. Rooms were clean and in newish shape, but finish and fittings were cheap but functional. Entrance was quite run down. Staff weren't the friendliest but were competent. No surprises with the place, but I it wasn't what I expected in terms of value for accommodations of this price in this part of the world.

It ıs a very nıce 3 star hotel. The resturant below ıt ıs very good. The hotel ıs ın a ıdeal locatıon.

Although air conditioning was lacking, opening a window kept the temperature pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable, though dated. The breakfast buffet at the adjoining Matyas Pince restaurant was adequate, but not a standout. The location is near the pedestrian shopping street, tramlines, and subway, practically at the riverbank. A great base for seeing the city, at a good price.

Excellent service, I had bad luck because right now there is a construction just inf front of the hotel. The elevator it's just too tiny, and the shower uncomfortable, also they use a dispenser for shampoo and hands soap, and it's not the best. I can tell the location is perfect I walked in downtown all the time.

The hotel was located in a great location on the Danube, easily accessible to both the Buda and Pest sides of the city. Also minutes away are the Gellert baths and a shopping district full of street vendors and restaurants. Overall the hotel experience was well worth the price, considering that a number of much more highly priced hotels are located just blocks away.

The hotel is a converted apartment building in the heart of Budapest by splitting stories into two. This resulted in half-size windows, but with great view of the Castle Hill, the Erzsébet bridge and the university church. Room was very nice, clean and surprisingly quiet. Neighbours were noisy and rowdy which dampened enthusiasm. Staff friendly and helpful. Great value for the price!

For the location and price, I can't complain about Matyas. We had a double twin room and the beds were tiny with one pillow each, TV was tiny and only had one English channel (CNN) and shower was pretty small - but hey, it's Europe. No amenities but the adjacent restaurant (where breakfast is served) is one of the city's more notable ones. Probably not worth it to pay for the breakfast though, unless you plan on gorging yourself and skipping lunch. Hotel is super close to the Elizabeth bridge and Danube promenade and walking distance to most attractions (if you like to walk).
