We spent one night at the Parker Hotel: • Reservation: smooth transaction, nice and polite sales person • Parking: enough space and the barrier was always open, so no extra cost to pay. Good news as the parking in this area is pretty expensive! • Reception: beware of the pics on the hotel website: it gives a false feeling of modern and style decoration. Since years and years, this hotel fell under different ownerships and nothing really change, except the name. So, it would be time to undertake a serious refurbishment. The receptionist was friendly though. • Room: situated on the ground floor. Nothing spectacular, it looks nice and welcoming at the first glance but the bath room needs renovation as well. The carpet on the floor is absolutely terrible (feels like back in the 90ies) and not engaging. Furniture is old-fashioned and the general feeling is average. Besides, the internet connection was not working efficiently. • Breakfast: extremely disappointing. As we entered the restaurant, we were surprised by the numerous tables full of dishes and leftovers… No waiter to clear the tables, nobody to check if there was enough food at the buffet, nobody to check your room number. No one actually cares about the breakfast area. The chef however came in 10 minutes later, having a look at the buffet. So I asked him if there is orange juice available but he didn’t seem to understand and endlessly said “no”. Then, he took some croissants, some bread and went back to the kitchen to hide himself... Although there were some nice decoration features, the breakfast room is really dark. That’s fine in the evening to create some kind of cosy atmosphere but in the morning, better to get some light. I can understand that one-day commuters book this hotel for the night but as far as the tourists are concerned, there are definitely nicer hotels not only in the neighborhood but also downtown. Parker Hotel called itself a 4* Superior Hotel. Well, no one ever said you should believe it…
We checked into Parker Hotel with the family for two nights over a weekend whilst in transit to Holland. The hotel is conveniently situated for the airport as well as road connections leading east with plenty of parking. The staff were the highlight of our stay, extremely polite and accommodating. They ran just the four of us in a shuttle to the local train station for a trip into the city and also loaned us umbrellas. The kids were especially appreciative of the service. Overall a fantastic stay!
Arrived at hotel unexpectedly when flight delayed 24 hours. I cannot say enough about the competence of the staff, quality food, stylish common areas, cleanliness. While the room was plain, everything worked unlike the high priced airport hotel where we stayed 2 nights. The shuttle was fine. Recommend!
Near BRU AIRPORT Free shuttle bus Price around 134 / room ok and clean Don't take room 108 there internet doesn't work Bar under renovation Restaurant only buffet euro 29 If you like a la carte just forget it no way
I used this hotel in the past when it was still the Golden Tulip. First time back in 2 years and under different ownership. Really gone downhill from what I can see ....... bedroom and reception/ breakfast areas appear to have had nothing spent on them since I last went. Breakfast is pretty poor, room is dark, furniture really old, no staff visible anywhere from when you arrive to when you leave. My room is like an 1980s throwback ...... tired, old, in need of a complete refurb. It is a mid priced hotel by Brussels standards but really not worth it. Won't be back.......
We chose this hotel as a convenient and reasonable option while travelling this summer. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with the level of service and do not recommend this hotel to any guests who expect to be treated with professionalism and respect during their travels. As we were pulling in to the parking lot, we were met by a gentleman who nonchalantly said that there were no spots available in the (rather large) parking lot because of a wedding taking place at the venue. Very minimal efforts were made to accommodate us with an alterative spot--and only after we insisted that this is not acceptable to guests who had reserved a room far in advance. We were repeatedly told that even alterative lots nearby did not have space and that there was nothing that could be done--which is not exactly comforting given the somewhat remote location of the hotel. Inside the hotel, the halls and corridors were quite noisy due to the wedding, and while we were informed that efforts were being made to reduce the noise level (additional doors in corridors), we do not feel that they were sufficient. Guests should also be aware that the hotel has no elevators; this is certainly an inconvenience when travelling with heavy and bulky baggage. Our experience in the hotel's restaurant for dinner was also unpleasant. The waiter and bartender were in a rush to leave and rudely told us that we only had "3 minutes" to order before the kitchen were to close (of note, the waiter said this during a very arbitrary time, not on the hour or even half hour, as could reasonably be expected). When the food arrived, it was bland and hastily prepared--not to mention VERY expensive--31 Euros for two sandwiches and 8 Euros for two teas! The one redeeming factor of this hotel is the breakfast buffet. The food was good and the setting was comfortable and convenient. However, we still left very disappointed by the level of service and lack of accommodation.
The restaurant is not open in August ! ! so if it rains you're stuffed,,,,,as you have to walk to the next hotel and that's a Holiday INN.... not my favourite by a long way. Pretty average, OK room and bathroom with good desk to work at and two comfortable armchairs as well as a desk chair, Comfortable enough but nothing to get excited about. did not have breakfast.... paper cups for the coffee in the room !!! Free shuttle was appreciated.
The hotel is still making bookings under the name golden tulip and that's how your email confirmation arrives. We started driving from Bruges at 8pm and we took an extra hour to reach the hotel because the navigation of the car took us to some other place when we looked for golden tulip. Another hotel helped us reach them. Then we learnt that they are Parker. This change happened a year back and customers are still receiving emails from golden tulip. The employees are frustrated, tired and troubled. They say that they have hundred times over given feedback to the management for incorporating the changed name but to no avail. The rooms are dirty, stained and ill managed. The mattresses cave in and you wouldn't want to touch the carpets with your bare feet. I was in and out of there in 7 hours. It is the most ill managed place I have seen in a long long time. If you have another hotel closeby, book that.
This hotel is conveniently located close to the airport. I've stayed twice recently the first time the staff were friendly, the second time they weren't. The rooms are a reasonable size and fairly well laid out. The furniture and carpets are a bit tired and a bit of a refub is needed. Parking is expensive, when it's almost essential
We found the free shuttle from the airport fast and easy Warm welcome at the hotel the room was comfortable for family of 4 clean big shower with bath Next day swimming pool and gym was super with nice jacuzzi Recommended
