If you like dirt, noise and expensive price , this is the place to be ! I asked for a private room , I ended up in a 5 square meters room with a bunk bed , toilets blocked, shower dirty, all that for 130 euros what you can pay in a 3 star hotel ! To be avoided at all cost !!!!
If you’re in Brussels for a mini break, this isn’t idea. Pros: It’s cheap and affordable, which in Brussels is rare as it’s an expensive city. Cons: This hostel is miles away from the city centre and will require busses to get there. The extra 7 euros you will spend each day travelling would be better going towards a hostel nearer the city itself. This is also a hostel for homeless people. I didn’t see any other backpackers there when I went, it was people who literally either live there, or have been given somewhere to stay while they don’t have a house. While o have no problem with this, in fact I think it’s good that something like this exists...it’s not what id want to stay in while on holiday/travelling. The area isn’t the nicest area either. Outside the hostel, just close to the bus stop there were people begging with a little cup. This is a common site in Brussels, but right outside the hostel??? There were originally 2 of us travelling but one dropped out a week before. I emailed the hostel to tell them and heard nothing. A couple of days later I emailed again, and then I emailed Hostelworld who also contacted them. It was well before the 72 hour limit so should have been fine. Turned up and they said they didn’t know. In the end, I was only charged for one person, but this hostel never checks its emails. The hostel wasn’t that bad inside. I’ve read horror stories on this site, but when I arrived the bed sheets had been washed. The toilets were ok, but the showers looked a bit grubby. The kitchen wasn’t the cleanest either. The staff are also residents, and most of them found speaking English difficult.
This is my first experience in Europe, and my friend booked for me a bed in a 4-shared dorm. The price at that time was around 20-22 euros per day. As I was used with good hotel facilities in Indonesia and especially its hospitality, it was a shock for me to find the situation in this youth hotel. Indeed it was a bit culture shock, but it was okay. The wifi is really good, but don't use download manager as it will crush the wifi itself, and would cause a wifi restart for as long as 15-30 minutes.
We booked this hostel for 1 night and it was enough. We stayed in a room with double bed, in terrible conditions. Bahtroom and toilet were disguating, really small l, you could barely move there. Bad location, far away from ciry centre. The only good thing was the staff, they were really helpful.
It is not really a hostel. It is more like a shelter where homeless people stay for some time until they find a job or a place to stay. The place is very dirty and it smells bad! When I told the guy at the reception that it was not a hostel he answered: 'they (homeless people) also pay to stay here'. I think it is not very honest to keep the place running as a hostel.
This is really not up to standard at all for a City like Brussels in Europe! Do not go there! Staff are very rude, the shower was broken. Bad, bad, bad. We booked for 4 nights but we left after 1 night! Its aweful
Nothing luxurious but it's quite cheap and it's OK for a short trip (1-2 nights). We spent here one night, arrived at 10 pm, left at 8am, we could take a shower and have a nice sleep, the water was nicely warm, so as the room temperature (especially for a cold winter night)! Rooms and bathroom could be cleaner but for this price it was OK.
This hostel is located in a great place with excellent connections to other parts of Brussels fairly easily. The tram stop is just across the road and a fair number of food joints are just around the corner. The staff is very helpful and the cleanliness is appreciable.
Disgusting, mouldy, the staff Are so incredibly rude. They were swearing at my friend because she didn't hear them say hi. They tried to scam us for "city tax" DO NOT STAY HERE! It is so disgusting i can't even believe it still gets business. THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN!&!!!!!!!
Right... It was really cheap. It looked really cheap. Everything was really, really, REALLY cheap inside there. In fact, you have what you've paid for. So... no regrets in the end. Not bad location, near a bus stop who brings you in 13 steps in the middle of Brussels.
