The Islander Inn

There was a lot of construction in the parking lot Rooms aren't very soundproof. We could hear our next door neighbor. All doors were hard to open and close.

Generally, I would recommend the Islander especially with off-season rates. However, on the 3rd floor where I was, the shower water pressure is low so the hotel needs to address that. Some little things like the clock missing digits on its display and a loose towel bar need to be fixed.

My mother in law got sick and they were very helpful and friendly.

It was our first time going to this beach and this hotel. Everything was great. However you need water shoes on the beach and getting into beach. There are many shells. We stayed in the dog friendly room and it was very clean. I will go back to this hotel again for sure.

Check-in went very quick. Lobby was at one end of seven buildings. Our room was on the top floor in the sixth building. Buildings are connected by walkways with a set of doors on each. The elevator is near the lobby so you either have to take the elevator to the third level and cross six walkways or walk up the stairs from the ground to the third level to your room. Parking was always available under or next to the building. The room was nice and appeared to have been renovated sometime recently.

This was my 2nd stay after having such a good experience the 1st time (1 month ago). I had no complaints even in the off-season. I did have to go off-site for meals and drinks but expected that this time of year and gave me a good chance to explore the area. That's the only reason I didn't give the amenities a 5 star rating. I just didn't get to try them all. Staff was helpful and personable, housekeeping did a great job and the location is excellent.

Comfortable, clean. No issues. Great off-season rates.

We prepaid for two nights but left after one. The room was not clean and made us feel uncomfortable. The walls were so thin that we were disturbed by every movement in the building. The tv in the first room didn't work, so the staff moved us. Nonetheless the equipment itself was at least 10 years old. I say that because I have not seen a tube TV in at least that long. We checked into a B&B nearby and had a fine time.

The Islander Inn was a great choice. It's location was right on the beach, with an indoor and outdoor pool. The continental breakfast was nothing fancy, but was nice. The rooms were clean and I never had to wait for the maid service to clean the room. Had a great stay. Would definitely recommend and come back again.

I think that many hotels in this area could be more comfortable for the guest not only this hotel and also a good renovations wouldn't be a bad idea. There could always be room to progress

The hotel and rooms were nice. A nice extra touch would have been to provide beach umbrellas like the hotel beside them.

February at the beach! While you can not linger on the sand, you can enjoy the relaxed feeling you get being near the ocean! And dream of those warm sunny days ahead.

We had a great time here. The hotel staff was super friendly. The room was really clean. Definitely will be returning here!

Was accommodating. Breakfast bar had good variety. Rooms were clean. Staff was approachable and friendly. We had a timely response to our heating system in the room, was fixed promptly

I have been going to this hotel for many years. The location is excellent and the rooms are pleasant and clean. The amenities are excellent.

Great place to stay. Beautiful view. Will definitely stay again.

It was good wish we could have stayed longer. It's right on the beachside

The beach was great and very accessible . The amenities not so great. My closet was bigger than their workout room. The room was comfortable but would have much preferred the ocean view. The staff could have been better informed. We asked for dinner suggestions -one said I'm not from here the other said Sharkey's would not go back there - not so fresh and not great atmosphere.

Our biggest problem was not having enough towels. I don't know if they had a towel shortage or what but we could only get 3 towels and one of those was to use as a bathmat since they did not have any. no matter what time we went to the pool, there was never any towels there either. Don't know what the deal was but I would suggest getting more towels for your guests comfort. Also hot tub water was way too hot, to the point it was uncomfortable. Tiki bar was poorly staffed. And cleaning service comes by room way too early. So if you are not up by 8:30- 9 you may not get room cleaned.

I rented the room for the location...on the beach. Everything was average. I didn't like that I could hear the folks walking in the room above ( a first for any hotel I've ever stayed in) and the water pressure sucked but other than that it was OK. On the plus side they did allow me to leave the car there after check-out for a little extra beach time. =)
