The room was nice considering the remodeling that is taking place. I would recommend this place to other travelers. I liked the proximity to the beaches. The breakfast was very good. I will stay there again when I'm in the area.
My overall experience at the Comfort Inn in Shallotte NC exceeded my expectations. It proved to be a five star rating hotel without having to payout the five star hotel money. It hotel and personnel was warm and friendly and did everything right to make our stay there pleasureable.
I have been staying at this Comfort Inn for 11 years when my brother and I go down for a week of golfing. We always stay there because it's location is remarkably convenient to the first golf course we play in NC each year. The staff, accommodations and breakfast are fantastic and it is the best Comfort Inn I have ever stayed in. I would recommend this location to anyone traveling through North Carolina.
We stayed here during peak summer season because the hotel prices in North and central Myrtle Beach were twice as high the normal rates. Shallotte is less than an hour away from the Myrtle Beach area and prices were significantly lower. The hotel hallways were dimly light and a little scary, but the rooms were spacious and showers had good water pressure. Beds were comfortable. Parking was not an issue. Breakfast is standard food and was OK.
When I walked in the stale cigarette smell hit me. (I'm highly allergic) I checked the window above the extremely dirty and dusty air conditioner and sure enough, opens right up. Perfect for someone trying to hide smoke. I should have asked that question about the window before booking. The carpets are gross, torn and full of stains. My feet stuck to the bathroom floor. The bed and bathroom counter however appeared clean and the staff tonight at check in was extremely nice. Too tired from traveling to complain. Besides I'm sure all the rooms are this way. I just need to sleep. But definitely won't stay here again due to the cleanliness and people smoking. Someone even put a cigarette out on the window. It's hard to tell feom the picture. Place just needs serious renovation.
Relatively frequently I stay at Comfort Inns. Overall this particular one is below average. For instance the breakfast items that we're supposed to be warm were cold and the cold was warm. The pull-out bed for my 11 year old son was unusable. The two beds were double beds not queen beds as we expected. Most importantly when my wife was looking at the charges, we discovered that we had been charged an extra hundred dollars. After 2 phone calls we were able to find out that we had been accused of taking 5 towels. Upon speaking to the manager about this, we were told that the manager needed to speak to the general manager and that we would hear back from the manager. The manager was about to hang up when I suggested she probably could use my phone number to get back in touch with me regarding this matter.
This was a quick one night stay for a family reunion. I have stayed at this property on other occasions, but I do not remember writing a review. This is a very clean property near US 17 and NC 130. The night guest services person went out of her way to assist me and, Sherry, The Front Desk Manager, was very helpful on checkout. The property puts a $1.50 charge for the safe in the room, but if you ask, it is cheerfully removed. Everything else met or exceeded expectations.
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The morning breakfast was good the rooms were very clean and very comfortable. We would stay there again They gave us a great discount for our stay since I was participating in the Run Holden Beach Half Marathon and 5k
We recently stayed two nights for a bowling tournament that took place right across the street so the location was absolutely ideal for us. The hotel is a little on the dated side, it could use a bit of TLC, but it was incredibly clean. The room itself was large, with two double beds and a separate sitting area including a sofabed. The beds were very comfortable with many fluffy pillows, and lots of big towels were provided each day. We did use the pool, which is small but very clean. Breakfast the first day (a Sunday morning) was overwhelmingly crowded, so I opted to hit up the Bojangles right next door. I will say that the rooms' walls are paper-thin. The hotel was very crowded our first night and anyone speaking in the hallway sounded as though they were standing at the end of the bed. I'm sure we had running children overhead all night! On Sunday, however, the place literally cleared out and it felt as though we were the only ones there. Monday morning I enjoyed a solitary hot breakfast of eggs and sausage. The fare was plentiful and helped fortify us for the drive home. We have two more tournaments coming up soon and will definitely stay here again.
The room we had was okay, we were out and about and just needed a place to sleep and shower. Breakfasts were typical hotel fare. Not on the beach, but not that far away. Maybe 20 minutes. Close to many good restaurants. Maid service was iffy, first day what would be expected, second left a lot to be desired.
