I did not find out until we got there that the elevator was out of service. I was grateful we were only on the second floor, but no one seemed in a hurry to fix it and who knows how long it has been like that. I have fibromyalgia so it was a bit painful to do all the extra stairs while I was there. Breakfast was "ok" no frills, bread for toast, muffins, boiled eggs and make your own waffles. The location was good, right off of 95. There was a Cracker Barrel right next store. It was about a 20 minute ride to St. Simons and Jekyll Island. The neighborhood and surrounding areas were a bit sketchy. I would spend the money and stay on the Island next time. The room was a bit musty when they had turned off the air in the room when they made the bed.

This hotel is walking distance from 5 other hotels so it baffles me why they would be so willing to say, "if you prefer to cancel your room, we will not charge you!" After calling me to assure i was really coming and telling me the elevator was not working today, they assured me a room on the first floor. I advised I had several items i needed to secure and could not leave them in the car. After arriving, they sent me to a first floor room that was already occupied and I fear I woke somebody up and probably scared them a bit. Sorry! After returning to the front desk, i was told there were no first floor rooms and that I had to take the stairs. I was also advised the elevator would not be repaired until November. After reminding the front desk clerk about the call and assurance i would get a first floor room, I was invited to cancel my room. I have used LaQuinta 3 or 4 times in the last month. This hotel had the cleanest and nicest facility and the weakest customer service. In the background.... a car alarm was going off when I checked in. I pointed it out to the front desk clerk when I checked in at night. He said he would handle it. The next morning, it was still cycling in and out of alarm mode. Its all about the people.

Stayed the night for a day trip to Jeckyl island. Was a 5 minute drive to the island, but worked out good. Was right next to Cracker Barrel so we got up, checked out, got breakfast and went to the beach. Awesome and easy day.

We made a quick overnight trip for college orientation. The rate per night was about $100 including fees and taxes, and we had two rooms for our family. The parking lot was very small and ferel cats (at least four we saw in a short time) were all over the place. The lobby was very small and dingy. The attendent that checked us in was very pleasant, especially for our 11PM arrival, but upon checking us in, we were informed they were short on room keys and could only give us one per room (and we really needed two, for one of the rooms). How does a hotel run out of keys? The room itself was not worth $100 rate. It was small - the beds were not even what I would consider full and certainly NOT double. They were wide twins at best. Whatever sort of cover or protector they use on the mattresses reminded me of a vinyl waterproof pad you would use on a crib mattress! The bed was very hard, uncomfortable and you could hear it everytime anyone moved in the bed. It was a long, uncomfortable, sleepless night. There were hairs (not belonging to our family) on "clean" towels, and in the shower. The microwave/coffee nook was filthy and dusty. The air conditioner did not sufficiently cool the room even on the lowest settings - and we were only there from 11PM till appx 745AM, not even in the heat of a June day in south Georgia! Overall, it was a decent place to lay our heads, but for the rate I expected a lot more!

The mildew/grime on the shower curtain and knobs for the shower was disgusting and paired very will with the unknown black marks in my refrigerator.

I am learning to travel with my dog and this was our first night! As an elder, I was happy to have indoor entrance to my room. Dog found the elevator interesting! Greeting was unenthusiastic, but when my tub wouldn't drain, Ken came right up and helped. Turns out, my checkin registered as the wrong room, so I had a break in when the manager was inspecting for cleanliness. Profuse apologies, but it shows they care. Quiet room, minimal disturbance for nervous dog. Cracker Barrel is right across the parking lot. Breakfast nice with waffles. I know with free dog welcome I'm not getting fancy, but it was certainly adequate to good! Free WIFI, tissues, comfy bed, tv, phone, service, hot water, ice, frig, microwave. ..what else do you need?

Very comfortable room and the employees were just lovely.

When I arrived they had me down for two double beds when I made reservations for a king. I showed them my email receipt but they informed me they were booked solid and apologized but said there wasn't anything they could do. I was irritated, what's the point in making a reservation if you don't get what you want? Since I had already paid online there wasn't anything I could do so I checked in and went up to the room. It was a king! I don't know what that deal was checking in but I was pleased. The carpet didn't look like it had been vacuumed at all, the mirrors were dirty, and the toilet and tub weren't cleaned well. Luckily, I bring cleaning products with me so I cleaned the shower and it was fine. Since I was traveling with a dog and going to the beach I knew there would be sand and fur on the floor the next day. Other than the room cleanliness, we had no issues. All of the staff was friendly and wanted to pet my dog. They have lots of waste bag dispensers and grass for walking. There is a Starbucks within walking distance as well. Yay!

second room was a disappointment, shower smelled awful. But it is close to a lot of awesome places

Convienant access from I-95 and easy to locate. Clean facilities at a reasonable price. We can always depend on quality service at La Quinta.

This was a great place to stay with two pups. We stayed here as the places on St. Simons were considerably more expensive and/or not pet friendly.

Didn't realize it was "pet friendly". Prefer not to stay in these hotels.

Second stay at this location and it was just as good as the first! We prefer La Quinta because of allowance of pets with no extra fees. Rooms are always clean and smell fresh. Comfortable beds and stocked amenities. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Definitely enjoy the noon checkout time as well!

Easy access off I95 and convenient to travelers. Clean rooms and available non- smoking rooms. Quiet atmosphere to support a good nigh sleep. The complimentary breakfast provided a good selection before you continued your journey.

Everything was great Pam was so nice on over checking in and all of the staff were very friendly.

Last minute reservation that met our needs for sleep and a nice Waffle breakfast.

The staff was very friendly and helped make the stay a pleasant expierence. The room was very clean and confortable however the immediate area surrounding the motel was wanting for stores and food service. The motel is a little dated but all-in-all it was a good stay and a nice place to spend the night.

Hotel not too bad and meets its price point. Not a great exit off 95 to stay as restaurant selection very much lacking so would not stay on Exit 36! again.

Nice Place. Only problem was the time to get to St. Simon's Island. Otherwise great.

I am a pet owner and love my dogs, but I did not realize LaQuinta hotels are pet friendly. I am allergic to cats and would not have stayed in a pet friendly hotel if I had known that is what it was.

Thank you for your review. We are very happy that the front desk agent was pleasant upon check in and location convenient during the stay. However, we are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the hotel in general. This is definitely not the kind of experience we want our guests to have. Providing a clean, comfortable room to our guest is important to us. The issues you described regarding the bed is truly regrettable. We will make sure your comments are shared with our Management Team, so we can use them for further training purposes. We do hope you choose us for your future travels. Respectfully, Lacey
