The outside of the hotel is beautifully decorated. The room is super basic and the bathroom was smelly. It was okay for a night stay and restaurants nearby. Walking distance to most attractions. May come back in the future.
Ideal for somewhere to put your head for 3 nights, clean and friendly staff. When I got there they gave me a discount card so my friend and I could get money off museums etc! My room was large, TV in room, no WiFi (no issues as I used my data), bathroom is compact and needs an update but perfect for my needs. Warm shower, obviously had toilet, sink, towels, what more do you want when you're hardly in the room anyway! Would stay again.
The hotel is very well located, especially if you are driving to Brugges as the main car park is directly accessible just outside the hotel. It's convenient to get right into the heart of the old city, with plenty of bars and coffee shops really close by - especially recommended is 't Santpoortje - great ambience and lovely beer! However, the hotel is quite basic. Our room was small, the bathroom was very small and the two single beds didn't like being pushed together that much and had a tendency to move around a lot! There was also an unpleasant smell in the lobby which found it's way up to the hall on the fourth floor. And thos same convenient bars could get very noisy late into the evening on the weekend.
Hotel is well located and with the price it was too good to be true. Service seemed fine on arrival, however in discovering our twin room was a double I went to reception to ask for this to be changed. The man on reception was instantly unbelievably rude and hostile and constantly interrupted me. After refusing to do anything I eventually persuaded him to have someone come up separate the beds for us. This was done as requested shortly after but the whole interaction was completely unnecessary and left a sour taste in my mouth. Bathroom was tiny like a cruise ship bathroom and shower didn’t drain so it flooded. The room stunk of cigarette smoke and was loud all night due to nearby bars. The beds were very squishy and therefore not very comfortable. P Overall would avoid at all costs
Did not enjoy our stay at all. Both beds were very old and awful to sleep in - broken, thin and dirty. Woke up every morning with a back in pain and barely slept because of poor beds and noise. We are a young couple and the two single beds were both appalling , never experienced anything like this. The room is tiny and has no airflow or air con, therefore if you put the heating on when it’s cold, you end up sweating ans then have to open the window if it gets too hot. When you open the window, you are sleeping what feels like above a night club and the sound is inbareable. So unsatisfactory beds, very average dirty linen, no air movement, loud music until 6am, shower drain clogged each morning leaving bathroom full of water (tiny porter loo looking bathroom) and to top it off, you couldn’t use the cupboards because the bed was so close, they couldn’t open. The room looked nothing like the pictures and we may as well slept in a car or a hostel. Only bonus was that it was close to central market square but I’d rather catch a bus in everyday then stay here again. It was a very unpleasant experience - I wouldn’t recommend staying here for anyone at any budget. The hotel has had a chance to respond, I did email them directly for feedback, non received in return. Been 1 month now.
We came during a very busy week, and were incredible happy to find a hotel that wasn’t fully booked (I should have booked in advance!!). The room was cheap, and we even got 15euro of the price if we paid cash. But room is super basic, bathroom looks like an airplane bathroom but with a tiny shower added, and the beds aren’t very comfortable.
There was a group of us who travelled to Bruges for a Birthday weekend and the hotel was in a great location, however it is very basic. If you're looking for somewhere cheap, in a good location just to put your head down this is the place.
We decided for this hotel because of the good price and location and it's exactly that, good price for great location. The room was small and the toilet it's a prefab one similar than the one that must be in the International Space Station. Anyway it's not a bad option if you are not going to stay longer in the hotel.
The best thing in our visit was the location, however the big square right next to the hotel was under construction works an they wake us up at eight with the machinery. The rooms small but clean. The restrooms very very tiny, like the ones in a train.
Not all the experiences have to be as a guest but also as a potential client, so i will tell my story with Lace Hotel: Tried to book them through booking.com. I've added my electronic credit card as i always do and it was rejected. Added physical credit cards from people who will come with me, without success. Funny how it worked with all the other hotels and all the other 50 bookings i have in that platform. Their responses were always cold as 'credit card rejected. no valid credit card, we cancel the booking' even after i tried to ask for alternatives (other payment methods, paying in the hotel, whatever). They just don't care, they didn't answer my questions and continue do send me messages as "second credit card refused"... and if that's the way they treat potential clients i'm glad i didnt became an actual guest... There is no polite answers, there is no costumer service at all, there is nothing more than being cold as a rock (which is the worst you can do in this kind of jobs). They act as they are doing their guests a favour for staying in their hotel when the truth is: without guests no hotel ever survives... Fortunately not all the hotels in Bruges act like Lace Hotel and we're glad we've found Snuffel hostel who did the job with a warm welcome as the one below and no complications whatsoever. "Hi bruno, I can assure you that all four of you will be staying in the same dorm. I made sure of it! We look forward to welcome you in our hostel. Kind regards," Simply, just think twice after booking with this Lace Hotel guys. They don't seem to care of their guests.
