Not impressive. The check-in time was 2 pm. I reached at 1 pm. They didn't allowed us to check-in. Though kept our luggage in the hall. No separate luggage room. Went out to roam around and came back again after 2 pm. Got the room key (physical key), not card. The room was very small, with a double bed. Bathroom is extremely small. Triangular shape at one corner of the room. No coffee/tea making in room. WiFi only works in the reception area below, though it is free. Though my room was overlooking the empty field outside. The lift is very small. Barely 3 to 4 people. The breakfast spread is very minimal, Not many varieties of bread. Cold cuts. cheese. simple cereal, milk, tea/coffee, fresh orange juice, yogurt etc. Outside many places to eat. Most of the restaurants open till late night. So no issues for lunch/dinner. Definitely not planning to stay again.
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life. I checked in at 14:30 which is on time, and they gave me the key, and went to the room but it wasn't ready🤢 dirty toilet papers were on the floor like a horror movie and they changed the room. We stayed one night. The new room was dirty as welll, no toilet papers, beds are moving and noisy! you can not sleep all night! Do not go there!
Public areas are well maintained and modern... the bedrooms are adequate and perhaps a little tiered .... everything was clean and tidy. We had a dog with us and so were limited with choice but this hotel suited our needs for a one night stop-over. The central location allows you to park up and explore on foot. Car parking is available but there is a labyrinth of levels...5 in total... for this hotel you need level -1 and park at the opposite end to the entrance. The parking is subterranean with lifts and stairs up to street level. The self service breakfast was first class with a well stocked counter of fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, hams, cheeses and pastries and more. Coffee is a real winner with a bean to coffee machine that provided one of the best coffees of our 7 day trip... out of approximately 20 coffees.
After reading the earlier reviews, I was mortified and dreading to stay here but once I arrived in the room, it was nicely renovated and beautiful. So charming and nothing like the earlier review said, I guess those were staying here before the renovation or paying a very cheap price for an old room (do pay a little more and it will make your vacation nicer). Check in was very quick (if the staff shows up quickly) ... good location but I do recommend to take taxi here if you are arriving by train.
To say this hotel could deliver more than it does is an understatement. It is affordable and within the confines of the old city and easy walking distance of the centre. Our room was great. Large and airy with adequate facilities and a large shower room. The reception area is cramped and impersonal and the desk (hatch) tiny. We thought we had booked using a room rate that included breakfast but found that was not the case and we had to book it the night before if we wanted it (we left it and boy were we glad we did, check out kottee kaffee) The hotel had no sole and it felt more like a hostel than a hotel that said it suited our needs and was more than adequate. I'd probably use it again.
We booked this hotel because it was cheap and in a good location. On those points it done the job, we could easily walk to the central sites of Bruge (5-10 minutes away). But the room was awful. Musty smell, cramped, noisy, bed was far too soft, bathroom was very basic and not very clean. We booked a double/twin room, so it had two beds pushed up against each other (which we know happens) but there was another single bed at the foot of our bed, which made it very hard to move around our room. The manager at the reception desk was extremely rude. He told us off for arriving at 9:20pm, saying that check-in is before 8:30pm, but the sign next to him says 10:30pm ! There is a cafe/bar/restaurant at the front of the hotel, so it was open late anyway. When we checked out, we were just a few minutes after 11am but again we were told off harshly, the manager said he's not happy with us!! Cheek! We were paying guests who didn't make a fuss but we arrived a few minutes later than HE thought we should have arrived and left 5 minutes late. That's all we got wrong and in return got attitude and rude comments back. If you don't care about service, fine. But in this hotel should anything go wrong or you need help/flexibility from the management, then this is the worst place to be.
We had a clean bathroom, but a double bed that consist of two beds. It happebed quite often that the beds went apart. Besides that the hotel is very good located and everything is easily accessible. Unfortunately there was no internet inside the room and we had to go to the lobby for that.
Booked a night away in Bruges. Lace hotel looked quite nice and in great location booked with them and they took the payment of £45 great price. When I got home I checked my back and they had taken this payment again on two separate days. I never used my card in the hotel I only payed for the booking when I booked the room and everything we had out there was paid with euros. I went to the bank to ask about this and they said to contact lace hotel to see why this has been done. I have rang lace hotel over 5 times and it just goes straight to voicemail. I have also spoke to booking .com and they are going to try to also get hold of the hotel. The room wasn't great , could have been much cleaner. There was 3 beds cramped into a tiny room when I booked just for myself and boyfriend. Spoilt our break and definitely put a downer on coming home knowing I have spent £90 on a poor room , if I could afford to spend this much I would have booked a nice hotel. I would not recommend this hotel or booking.com.
We booked this hotel based upon the location and were nervous following many terrible reviews on trip advisor. Let's start off with the good points: Central location, next door and above many many bars and restaurants. Extremely close to the underground car park, only €8.70 for 24 hours. The Sunday morning market is right outside your door. The staff in the lace restaurant were very pleasant and happy to help. Now the bad points : The room was old, dated and damaged. Scratch marked on all the furniture, walls and the sink. The pillows were made out of what felt like tiny cotton wool balls and also had marker pen over them. The shower lead to many a towel being placed on the floor due to over flowing. Late night party goers, as in 3am or later reside out the lace restaurant even though it isn't open. I think they were just people from the bar and DJ next door. The market I speak of was lovely however; be aware that there is a 7am trumpet call to make the open announcement. Normally I'm happy with a clean room and shower but this time it didn't even hit that standard.
We stayed in Lace hotel for only one night. It has a very good position, close to the center and close to the shops, but the bathroom was a disaster! The bathroom was almost triple size of an airplane toilet. The w.c. was dirty, not sealed, the sink was smashed, the shower curtain dirty/ the toilet door has a small hole. It was dust in the room all around/the furniture was old and very scratched. The windows had mold on the inside.
