We came during a very busy week, and were incredible happy to find a hotel that wasn’t fully booked (I should have booked in advance!!). The room was cheap, and we even got 15euro of the price if we paid cash. But room is super basic, bathroom looks like an airplane bathroom but with a tiny shower added, and the beds aren’t very comfortable.
There was a group of us who travelled to Bruges for a Birthday weekend and the hotel was in a great location, however it is very basic. If you're looking for somewhere cheap, in a good location just to put your head down this is the place.
We decided for this hotel because of the good price and location and it's exactly that, good price for great location. The room was small and the toilet it's a prefab one similar than the one that must be in the International Space Station. Anyway it's not a bad option if you are not going to stay longer in the hotel.
The best thing in our visit was the location, however the big square right next to the hotel was under construction works an they wake us up at eight with the machinery. The rooms small but clean. The restrooms very very tiny, like the ones in a train.
Not all the experiences have to be as a guest but also as a potential client, so i will tell my story with Lace Hotel: Tried to book them through booking.com. I've added my electronic credit card as i always do and it was rejected. Added physical credit cards from people who will come with me, without success. Funny how it worked with all the other hotels and all the other 50 bookings i have in that platform. Their responses were always cold as 'credit card rejected. no valid credit card, we cancel the booking' even after i tried to ask for alternatives (other payment methods, paying in the hotel, whatever). They just don't care, they didn't answer my questions and continue do send me messages as "second credit card refused"... and if that's the way they treat potential clients i'm glad i didnt became an actual guest... There is no polite answers, there is no costumer service at all, there is nothing more than being cold as a rock (which is the worst you can do in this kind of jobs). They act as they are doing their guests a favour for staying in their hotel when the truth is: without guests no hotel ever survives... Fortunately not all the hotels in Bruges act like Lace Hotel and we're glad we've found Snuffel hostel who did the job with a warm welcome as the one below and no complications whatsoever. "Hi bruno, I can assure you that all four of you will be staying in the same dorm. I made sure of it! We look forward to welcome you in our hostel. Kind regards," Simply, just think twice after booking with this Lace Hotel guys. They don't seem to care of their guests.
The receptionist was very helpful, we lost our printed train ticket and he was more than happy to help us print another copy. Room was spacious. However, the aircon/heater doesnt seem to be working very well. The bed was also too small for comfort.
great location, surprised to find we had a v large room with great view, all clean, nice big shower, good value for money. only negatives would be poor toiletries (one sachet of shower gel/shampoo for 2 people) & telephone didn’t work. would stay again.
The hotel itself was in a good area. One night stay was ok any longer and wouldnt have been happy. Dirty run down rooms, old, dusty, things broken, bathroom very smelly and dirty. Toilet unacceptable for a hotel, sink cracked, floor dirty, plug socket wouldnt allow for plug, switches coming away from the walls. smelt bad! Continental breakfast ok. very overpriced. Fight for the kettle. Hotel itself clean. Owners not very welcoming. Felt like you were intruding. our friends however upgraded and their room was new and perfect (the balcony room)
Not impressive. The check-in time was 2 pm. I reached at 1 pm. They didn't allowed us to check-in. Though kept our luggage in the hall. No separate luggage room. Went out to roam around and came back again after 2 pm. Got the room key (physical key), not card. The room was very small, with a double bed. Bathroom is extremely small. Triangular shape at one corner of the room. No coffee/tea making in room. WiFi only works in the reception area below, though it is free. Though my room was overlooking the empty field outside. The lift is very small. Barely 3 to 4 people. The breakfast spread is very minimal, Not many varieties of bread. Cold cuts. cheese. simple cereal, milk, tea/coffee, fresh orange juice, yogurt etc. Outside many places to eat. Most of the restaurants open till late night. So no issues for lunch/dinner. Definitely not planning to stay again.
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life. I checked in at 14:30 which is on time, and they gave me the key, and went to the room but it wasn't ready🤢 dirty toilet papers were on the floor like a horror movie and they changed the room. We stayed one night. The new room was dirty as welll, no toilet papers, beds are moving and noisy! you can not sleep all night! Do not go there!
