This hotel is about a 10min walk from the main train station. The young man at the reception was lovely as were the other staff. The breakfast had everything that you need to give you a good start for the day. The rooms were clean. Our room however, had a wide sink in the bathroom that made access to the toilet quite difficult. We enjoyed our stay here but it did have a sewerage smell in the ground floor where we were. Perhaps an air out would help. Tea making in the room would be a perfect addition to this hotel.
This is a small hotel but with the necessary services to have a great stay. The rooms were ok, not very new. They don't have air conditioning, only fans in the ceiling. This may be kind of uncomfortable during summer. The bathroom is big. The staff is really friendly and they speak Spanish, french and English. The breakfast is really good. The location is next to the historic area of the city and 5 min from the train station. Recommended !!!
Hotel Floris Karos is a great location if you are traveling through Europe. It has limited car parking space, fortunately, there is a large car park in Central Square only 80 metres away. Friendly helpful staff, clean rooms. Our bathroom was a little dated though and needs a refurbish. An excellent breakfast in the morning to help you on your way.
We arrived on Sunday night and was told our booking been cancelled so I had to repay for a room I already paid for .it took 3-4 hours over 2 days to sort out .and get a refund The front office staff well 3 of them where Great and very helpful in sorting out this problem Room it was at street level dark and not sure how secure it was not grills on the window Breakfast was good location was good staff great Would I stay again yes but unlikely to go back to Bruges
We booked in to the Karos hotel, we took a taxi from the station, it's about a two minute journey and costs about 7.50 euro, good value by Irish standards. It is basically a B&B HOTEL, it serves a continental breakfast, but has no restaurant for dining in. That being said, there are so many restaurants in Bruges, all very close by, that it is not a problem. Dining out can seem expensive, when judged by our experience in Italy,China,Jordan, Spain or Portugal, but in Irish terms it is not really that more expensive. The room was spacious and always clean, beds changed every day. The welcome, is what would me to recommend this hotel to fellow travelers. On arrival we were greeted by a young French lady, whom I will call ' The Lady from Toulouse ', she was brilliant, no request or question was too much for her, she deserves a raise in salary. Bruges is a wonderful old medieval town, surrounded by a very large canal, there are tours daily[ more of that anon ]It is proud of it's history and rightly so. There are too many restaurants to mention in this brief synopsis, except to say that The Lady from Toulouse would encourage us to plan a return visit. The museums are many and excellent, horse drawn carriage's and the boat trip are to be enjoyed. But once again, our huge vote of thanks to The Lady from Toulouse who made our trip so memorable.
Hotel Flores Karos in Brugges was just a terrible disappointment and it centered totally around the front desk staff. I stay there two nights and each of the individuals I had to deal with got progressively worse. I asked the first one about parking on site as the info about the hotel on Hotels.com indicated there was on site parking for a surcharge. The girl almost laughed at me saying that I had to reserve a space in advance. So............... at their suggestion I parked relatively close in an underground facility under construction up the street. All was fine until checkout. I specifically asked where and how do I pay. She advised there were human beings located there who would help me. I would ,however, need coins to pay the bill. Then requesting change for the lot she bemoaned the fact that I might be taking all of her change. Anyway I got the coins, left my bags at the hotel, and walked up to the lot. When I arrived there was no parking lot official there to help me. There was also no place to put any coins which meant I could not get out. Finally a couple came by and I asked them if they could help. They used their credit card to validate my parking card and I paid them with the coins I had. My debit card would not work on this machine since it did not have a special guarantee feature many European only credit cards have. I returned to the hotel to get my luggage and told the front desk girl the information she had provided was incorrect. She accused me of being the one that made the mistake and would not take any responsibility regarding getting out of the lot. I can speak German and English fluently. She chose to use English but unfortunately did not have the language skills to adequately communicate with me effectively. A nice trip to a beautiful city was tarnished due to the management's clear lack of training with these individuals. DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL. In addition to these specific issues mentioned the hotel was rather tired and there were clearly a multitude of other choices.
The communal areas of the hotel were excellent - seating areas, swimming pool and kids play area - made me wish we'd brought the kids! The breakfast was excellent too. Room was ok. We had 2 single beds pushed together as a double which isn't ideal. And only 3 coathangers in the wardrobe. The shower was a little dated, but it was hot. Staff were very friendly. Bus stop right outside hotel which goes straight to train station.
Great Great Hotel! We drove to the location so I cant comment on the transport but the location of the hotel was great to see the best of Bruges! Hotel was clean and staff were helpful. We had free on site parking, the receptionist was helpful even though we arrived and a very unhelpful hour.
Firstly and most importantly, the staff in this hotel are so friendly, helpful and quite obviously would be very happy to provide advice about staying in Bruges, it's such a nice hotel to enter, if nothing else due to the welcome at reception. The rooms are adequate, I'm not sure if it's typical of the whole hotel but mine was quite large, everywhere was clean and presented well. There were just a couple of places in the rooms that need a bit of attention, bit at the end of the day, it's a hotel and it's obviously used which is a good sign. If you want a perfectly acceptable hotel in a good location with an amazing welcome this is perfect.
Checked into a lovely hotel foyer and greeted by a lovely warm member of staff. We were directed to the car park at the rear which had been booked. Due to an early arrival we checked in and paid invoice due to a very early departure and went off into Bruges. Came back and room was very shabby up in the eaves. Wouldn't stay again
