We booked one night on Easter Friday to get an overnight break away with baby and selected this hotel based on the reviews and family friendly feedback. The reception team were friendly and we were pleased with the welcome. Everything that follows didnt match the welcome. We paid €260 for a family room as we were travelling with a travel cot we just wanted that little extra space and were so disappointed by the room. Basic 2 star room quality with a double and single bed (no space for travel cot once opened, baby slept in our bed). Tired and faded deco, which we were told was recently refurbished? The hotel is old and has been upgraded but its just paint over jobs and it really shows. The hallways were particularly sad and the lift smells like wee and stale kitchen smells, it really isn't pleasant. The bathrooms again are old with chipped tiles and the bath has been resealed I don't know how many times so it just looks awful. Not at all what you would expect for the price. The bed was comfortable and that was a huge relief. The breakfast was really basic and totally unappetising. I managed a yoghurt and a tasteless pastry. My husband didn't finish his coffee. The continental meats and cheeses had simply been taken from whichever cheap supermarket brand provided them and they looked like coloured versions of the same processed food stuffs. My personal irk was that the milk was out (no fridge big enough for the jug) so it was warm. The coffee machine didn't have a decaf option so I enquired with the breakfast staff who told me I could get one from the bar for a supplement of €2.50. So although breakfast is included in the price, you don't get much and you have to pay for extras. The real issue we had with the hotel was a very dissatisfactory experience we had with the parking. I had reserved a parking space on booking. Upon arrival my husband got instructions to park and I paid our bill. The bill wasn't itemised and I thought nothing of it. My husband returned to inform the receptionist that the alley way to the parking was blocked and we couldn't access it. He want out to check and confirmed it wasn't their van but there was nothing to be done and so we parked on the street. We dropped our bags and on the way out, again parking blocked. Upon return to the hotel we met the same receptionist who told us the parking was now accessible but seeing as it was after 8pm it was free to park on the street. At check out the next morning I explained this to the receptionist who confirmed that we had been charged for the parking the day before. As I couldn't see it on the bill I asked for an itemised bill which I was told wasn't possible and in any case a refund wasn't possible. I was told that the only way to do so was to make a complaint, which I did to the management via email. Having explained all of the circumstances the hotel management refused such a refund as we didn't 'explicitly request it'. Having both requested it, discussed it with the staff in detail and having made a formal complaint there isn't much more you can do. They weren't in the slightest concerned with the quality of service or charging clients for services they couldn't use. Very disappointing lack of customer care all in. There are much better hotels in Brugges.
We were upgraded to a wonderful room, courtesy of the nice man at check-in when we told him we had stayed before. That was a nice touch. Our room was very comfortable and the bed was huge! Breakfast room could do with being larger and possibly with a larger selection, but we did not go hungry and did manage to find seats. Free WiFi throughout is a bonus. The hotel is great for children, as there is a well-stocked playroom for all age groups (within sight of a comfy lounge area, where adults can relax with a drink) and the indoor pool is great for adults as well as children.
A nice sized room, clean and bright , plesant and helpfull reception desk, good choice of breakfast. Car parking is a challenge as the space is tight and the other cars do not always parkbetween the lines.
Stayed with 3 friends in the Floris last week and really enjoyed it. The hotel is a short walk to the centre of Bruges and what a great city to visit. We did the canal tour and the bus tour and enjoyed both. We were pleased to be able to park our car in the small car park at the rear of the building. The beds were comfortable although the bathroom could do with an updating. The buffet breakfast was good and the staff overall very friendly.
Good hotel with pleasant staff and ambience. Noticed a good space for children to play within sight of comfortable lounge area. Location could be a bit nearer centre of Bruges but was easily walkable.
great location near main big square in bruges, very modern hotel, fully modernized over the years, there is even limited parking, its only a short stroll in to the centre of town, this hotel offers a fab breakfast, plenty to choose from, all freshly prepared,we found all the staff very polite and helpful.our room on the first floor was great,we had a large twin room, free wii fii and cable tv,,we are an older couple and found the lifts very usefull to get to our room,,yes a great place to stay,
Really quite impressed - staff lovely, breakfast was a buffet with a good variety and the room was fine. Good location as well with an easy walk into Bruges. Would have been more impressed with tea & coffee facilities in the bedroom - had to buy a cup each time we wanted one.
Nice hotel between the train station and market square. Price was right but the welcome from the front desk check in was so special. Amina gave me the best rate and a fabulous room and lots of tour information and local information. Told me about a great restaurant and gave me discount coupons for everything. I returned back to the hotel and she was still working the front desk and was now also the bartender! She really made my stay enjoyable and made me feel so welcome. Hope you will enjoy this nice little hotel as much as I did!
Lovely friendly staff 10/10 for staff. Good breakfast and swimming pool. Paid secure parking very close to the hotel . Good location near to all attractions. Nice and quiet. Again lovely friendly staff
I stayed one night with family. Very friendly and helpful staff, private parking at the back which was 15 euros extra but worth it as it isn't strictly timed. Room was large and spacious and you can borrow a kettle too if you want to make up your own hot drinks. Very good and filling breakfast and extremely convenient for the historic centre of Bruges which is a short walk away. In an expensive city, this hotel offers great value for money. Highly recommended if you want a decent and reasonable 3 star hotel. Particularly good for those with their own car as it's easy to drive to and park the car on site.
