Everything about this place was excellent except for one small thing- the internet policy. Practically everywhere I've stayed lately from business style hotels through to budget motels and AirBNbs have offered free wifi. It's become standard over the past couple of years. This place no. No wifi at all in fact but rather a LAN cable to plug into your laptop with just half an hour of free use a day. I had an iPad which was unusable as there was no way of plugging it into the cable. Come on guys! It's 2017. Free up access thanks! Despite the excellent rooms I simply won't be able to stay there again as I need fast and free internet to get my work done.
The Oaks resort on Robinson st, in town, is well above an average place to stay. Beautiful big rooms with 3 person spas, and king size bed a dream to sleep in. The pool is huge, clean. The reception staff were very helpful and polite. The food in the restaurant although pricey as expected, was a standout as the 100 day grain fed steaks were agreed upon by my colleagues as among the best steaks we have ever eaten. So for prices very fair by quality received. A pleasure to stay at Oaks. This sets a high bar for other establishments in Broome.
I have stayed at the Oaks on many occasions and it is consistently welcoming wonderful from the grounds to all the people whether they are the ones that make my room clean and fresh or sweep the paths and tend the gardens then there is the face of the Oaks the reception to the in Reasterant they all make the Oaks and such a pleasure to stay at, as you can tell I heartily recommend the Oaks. Cheers Ian
The Oaks appartments in Town Beach, is the perfect location for a relaxing stay in Broome. The staff were extremely helpful, we were offered a free room upgrade on arrival to a two room, self-contained apartment. The room was very spacious, well appointed and perfectly placed with a great view from our balcony. The Oaks is walking distance to the central hub of Roebuck & and the famous China Town district. Well worth considering. Yes, Cable Beach is fantastic but this location is so much more convenient for shopping & sightseeing.
The apartments were great. Only had 1 coffee cup in room. Apartment serviced everyday but a 8yr old could make a bed better. I was shocked. The swimming pools are beautiful and clean. Lovely area to relax. Unfortantly between 9.30am and 5pm no Bar or Restuarant open. No where to get a cold drink if it is hot. The chef , and there seems to be only 1, very below standard. Waited over 1 hr for breakfast and it wasn't busy. Food below standards. Only good thing... good coffee at breakfast. I understand that they are apartments with kitchens. But if you don't rent a car there is no where to shop in walking distance to fill your fridge with cold drinks. This resort could be so much better if they opened there bar all day. I wouldn't stay here again unless I rented a car. I would go shopping to fill my fridge with drinks and food because nothing is open or available between 9.30 and 5 at this so called resort.
Good location but housekeeping is certainly not what you expect from a 4 star hotel, beds were very poorly made & on day 3 the room was not serviced at all despite the "please make up my room" sign being on the door. We had dinner at the restaurant one night & it was the worst pizza we have ever eaten seated at a table in almost darkness we could still see it was burnt beyond recognition I am sure the poor girl was embarrassed to be serving it & did apologise when we complained. Certainly expect more for the cost of this establishment.
The Oaks in Broome is well located but a short bike ride/car ride to ChinaTown and the centre. It has excellent young staff (particularly Alice & Sonita) who were very friendly and helpful. All wet areas were clean as was the room etc. Opposite the Oaks was "18degs" restaurant" (near the Broome Museum) it was great for all meals, the museum was fantastic and definitely a must cause it gave a very comprehensive history of Broome, as well as a cool spot to rest in the heat of the tourist's day.
After camping for two weeks, Oaks was a clean and bright place to wind down and clean up after camping. Facing out to Roebuck Bay it is in a good halfway position between Broome downtown and Broome Town Beach, making it easy walking or taxi distance between the two. It is also on the bus route. The hotel facilities are modern and clean with two pools to choose from. Laundry facilities are shared, clean and well maintained. Staff are polite and helpful.
This was a lovely hotel to stay at in close to Broome town. It is just across the road from the IGA but has a lovely restaurant. The rooms are nice and clean with aircon and fans, tv (cable) and a DVD player. The pool areas are also really nice. Front desk were very helpful.
Fantastic place to base yourself while in Broome. 24 hour reception is very handy. We stayed in a pool view 1 bedroom apartment. Lovely comfortable room with kitchenette. It was also very quiet at night time.
