Old brownstone brought back some good memories. Very pleasant.
If your looking for a 5 star hotel, this is not your place. If you are looking for a quiet, safe, and romantic place to stay, this is for you. I saw a few negative reviews but after staying, those people had too high expectations. This was perfect for my wife and I to catch a game at Fenway. Train stop to the city is literally across the street. Fenway is 15 min walk. King Room was large enough to move around and relax and had all the historic feel you could ask for with modern amenities. Will definitely be back.....
Overall nice inn. Liked building, room, and staff. Parking was difficult but needed. Breakfast was bagels, croissants, oatmeal packets, and bananas. Convenient to metro.
This is a perfect location especially if you are looking to go to Fenway. So many restaurants and coffee shops that are walkable and accessible. Staying here is a very unique experience given the history in the area, the room themes are very cool and they are very spacious also. It is not the most accessible friendly place as we did have to go 4 flights of stairs to our room each time, so something to keep in mind if you struggle with this area. This is not a full service hotel so it is important that you assess your expectations when booking here. Amenities (iron & towels) and staff are not available 24/7 like a regular hotel. It was difficult getting in touch with the property but once I did they were very helpful and accommodating. The continental options could be enhanced for the breakfast but perhaps I got there later in the day when items had ran out. There is a ridiculous door stopper under the table where I kept hitting my toe. terrible placement and very inconvenient. Sharing for your awareness as i'm sure i'm not the first of last to have come across this.
No breakfast
Will never stay at Beacon Inn!!! Slept in room 7 with no air conditioning working, reported it to staff Mary from 1087 and she told me there was nothing that they could discount off our stay. Highly disappointing. My husband and I were up most of the night sweating. Room 7 is an oversized closet. Mary would not even give us the managers name so we could call. Very very unprofessional to say the least. 👎👎👎👎
I like the location. It has potential to be charming, unfortunately it wasn't clean. The mattress and linens were dirty and bad quality.
Lovely old building
the property is in a very old style building. given the price before tax was just under 100 a night right on beacon street across the street from the green c line you cant argue the price for the area. be that as it may their is no breakfast option (due to covid) in my particulair room (7) the TV did not get a signal and my private bathroom was not in my room. (unsure if this is the case with every room or just the small rooms). during the (first time) i tried to use the shower i had a hard time getting anything but ice cold water. it was a little hard to get in and out of the shower due to how high u need to step, and the window ac did not seam to get the room all that cool. the room and facility was clean enough and staff was friendly though not their after 8pm or before 8am so if your out and about during the day dont lose your key. also if your driving plan acordingly as they only have 3 parking spaces in the back 30$ a night and parking on the street can be hard to come by. lastly this is not a place that is handy cap esceesible as their are stairs but no elevators.
My room was on the 3rd Flloor, the bathroom was across the hall. Was private, was the same key from my bedroom. The room is super small. The girl at front was nice. I don’t have phone, or like I said bathroom. Linens where ok . But the blanket was dirty. No please to do breakfast. I got my pastry a coffe and went back to my tiny room for $255 dollars a night!
Reasonable price for the area. Great neighborhood and right next to the green c line of the t.
Room and amenities were okay in this historic converted home....but the awkward bumper to bumper parking situation in alley and necessity to leave keys to a rental car with the office manager in case it had to be moved was not a comforting thought. The unexpected $30 parking fee (!) and considerable steps to navigate front porch and what was originally to be our room) were not what we had in mind. We were given the option to switch to the downstairs room which greatly helped...so thankful for that.
Comfortable. Nice neighborhood. Located next to Subway stop. The hotel rooms have nice hardwood floors with high ceilings.
Very friendly staff, beautiful room, close to coolidge corner! Cute names for the rooms, too, based on various famous locations in Boston. One heads up/ thing to be prepared for: there's no elevator here and there are stairs leading up to the main entrance as well (no ramp).
