Have stayed here now 4 times in last couple years as its close to Queen street mall and in heart of Brisbane CBD. Used to be a good value for money, but the service is starting to fade and the hotel doesnt seem to be taken care of all that well. Rooms are fairly modern. But beware trying to book a room with bath or special requests. They seem to get lost in transit fairly regularly. I asked for a bath last 2 times I have stayed there and they "lost" the booking. Very frustrating when you really want a nice hot bath. They also fail to announce if you book by phone that the parking costs you $25 per night additional. They also forgot to tell us when we phoned to book that the spa and the pool were out of commission. Double blow as we really wanted to relax and chill out and now had no bath OR a spa or pool. We paid $50 for a porta bed for a family member ( He weighs 66kgs) and they said it was very uncomfortable to sleep on. If you want inclusive or a special getaway probably not the best place to stay. If you just want a place to crash close to the Queen Street Mall and the surrounds and aren't that fussed about the amenities, then this will be adequate.

Disappointing the pool and spa areas were closed for upgrading. Main reason this hotel was booked as we had 4 children with us. Maybe look at doing this in the winter months! Great location and nice room, cleaning could be improved.

The location is very handy for walking to the South Park, shopping and restaurants. I loved the king sized bed. It was also interesting seeing all the photos of famous people who have stayed there in the past.

Great location close to Queen St mall and restaurants.I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment spacious with 2 bathrooms and very clean.More information regarding location of carpark on the website would be useful.

Excellent location with restaurants, Queen Street Mall, QPac all within walking distance. The room we were in had a great view of the river. Fully self contained and serviced daily. We would stay again and also recommend this hotel.

Kitchen basic, chipped mug and no oven gloves, cooker not clean. 30mins only free wfi. Staff were helpful but not with your bags. Reception didn't want to know that i would not be using my room for a few nights, as was going to a wedding, thought they would need to know in case of fire or bomb etc. but they did not. Location good for sites.

We had a very nice modern appartement, but felt like management is cutting too many corners to save costs: - the cutlery, plates and kitchenware are kept to an absolute minimum. E.g. Even only one pack of dishwasher detergent, you will need to hunt down a cleaning lady to get more - front desk experience was rather slow at times, not the most efficient processes either. E.g. I had to leave my passport to get the temporary key for the car garage during checkin. They asked me for it again when I came back to do the check-in instead of doing it right away. Great location and nice appartement at fair price, with some drawbacks in service

This was the 3rd time we having given the Oaks a go, twice out of the three stays the cleaniness has been very poor, my wife had surgery and the room was not cleaned in 10 days, replacing cheap soaps and toilet paper is not value for money.

Excellent location, and I like the glassed in dining area on the high floors (I was on the 24th floor). Great views down to the city area. The apartment is spacious and not too affected by traffic or hotel noise. On the negative side - this Oaks property is still charging for wifi - only 30 minutes of free access per day and as a business traveller I needed more and paid through the nose for it - $18 for 24 hours! I'd also suggest it's time for an update to the bathroom and kitchen fit out - all looking pretty old and tired. And finally, and probably because of the age of the apartment, it's difficult to find any powerpoint in the bedroom to plug in mobile devices. It's the 'move the bed' approach to plug in. Overall - it felt pretty average. My room was apparently going to be serviced each day, but it wasn't....

I booked accomodation through Virgin Holidays when we travelled to Brisbane for business. As I was travelling with my 3 year old, I organised for a cot to be put in the room. I send an e mail to the listed email on the website and got a reply after 24 hours. At which point of time, I was advised that I would need to pay a fees for it. It did not matter to me as its normal to pay the fees for a cot and I was expecting it to be organised. I had replied to the e mail requesting them to go ahead and organise a cot. When I arrived at the hotel at 9:30 pm after a 2.5 hrs flight from Adelaide my daughter was already very tired. I expected the cot to be in the room. But it wasn't. When I spoke to the reception, the receptionist advised me of a different fee. At which point of time I advised that it really did not matter as all I cared was to get my daughter to bed. The receptionist advised me that "She will need to follow up on the paperwork", instead of taking the time to organise it. At this point I had given up. The cot arrived 10 minutes later. I was disappointed because I did not want to come in at 10 pm in the night to organise something that I had done in advance. And again they forgot to provide a blanket or pillow or a sheet to cover her. I am also not very sure of how you plan to cater to business clients when there is no bottled water in rooms.
