This hotel is Clean and Quiet. The biggest drawbacks are that it lacks Air Conditioning (it was turned off during our stay and our room was too warm). Opening the windows brought in too much street noise... and a Bar Fridge for extended stays.
On our way to Portugal I was taken ill and after being checked in hospital in Brest, the lady at the airport found us L'Amiraute where we stayed for two nights. The staff were absolutely charming and helpful and our room, although quite small, was more than adequate for our needs. One of the receptionists sorted out for us that our best way to get home was by train from Brest to Paris and then by Eurostar to England. She printed out the train timetable for us and explained how to book them. On the second morning we had breakfast which was perfectly adequate and we then booked for an evening meal in the restaurant. This proved to be the highlight of the stay. The room is delightful and the two course meal excellent value. We chose a lamb dish accompanied by creamed potatoes, sun dried tomatoes, carrots and mushrooms with a delicious sauce. I can honestly say that I have never had more succulent lamb. To follow I had a warm chocolate cake with cream and my wife had a creme brûlée. Absolutely wonderful. Considering that we weren't supposed to have been in France, and, basically, our holiday was ruined, L'Amiraute saved the experience from being an absolute disaster. We are very grateful.
Hotels ok but was charged 20 Euro for a Yorkshire terrier, she spent 8 hours in the room at the most, wow.rest of the hotel was quite good and if you don't have a dog I would recommend the hotel but dog friendly.....no.
Very good hotel in a quite good location. Nice and clean room, good wifi and very good breakfast both quality and quantity. I visited Brest for business and I was satisfied in any aspect of my stay there. Good personel also.
Very good hotel, very clean rooms, unfortunately no safe in the rooms. Central safe at the reception can be booked. No car park in the hotel, you have to drive 2 blocks around the hotel.....but easy! Service is good, breakfast is typically french, open til 11 a.m. (perfect!).
The Amiraute Hotel is a very nice hotel. The rooms are a good size with every amenity. Everything is attractive and in order. The staff is friendly and available. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Brest train station, and in easy walking distance to most of the sites of the city. The main shopping district is one street over. Our stay was short (one night), but plenty long enough to know this is a quality hotel.
Had a 3 day stay there for business. Very nice room (superior), very helpful staff, excellent facilities. Good breakfast too and in particular I appreciated the proper orange juice for breakfast. The staff were very accommodating to my many requests throughout the stay.
The hotel is very quiet and the location is good for my purpose of the visit. Work related. Been at the hotel several times in connection with work. Quiet, clean and tidy. During last visit the internet connection was slow.
Friendly and competent staff, good location, secure parking, perfectly clean room, nice bedding (instant coffee in the room could be better), nice handy breakfast... Good wi-fi connection. True 4 stars standard! Highly recommended!
The location is good but it is not charming. Bedding is clean, breakfast is decent (meat, yogurt, eggs, bread, fruit, cheese, cereal, coffee/tea). The rooms have plenty of towels, shampoo, lotion, soap and hair dryer. No conditioner. An iron can be loaned out from from front desk as well as wine bottle opener. Staff is friendly and helpful- they helped me book a massage at nomads spa. There is underground parking and hot water kettle in room. There is a grocery/Walmart like store 2 blocks away. Lots of food and pubs options around. No exercise room but running/walking outside is safe or you can easily move bed over to do DVD workout. Overall, it's fine for a short stay in brest.
