The Swissotel is a modern, arty, and wonderfully welcoming hotel in the middle of Bremen. Stayed for 2 days in March and could have stayed for a month. The staff are so courteous and friendly. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and modern. The bar and restaurant are relaxing. There is a wonderful work out room, with a sauna/steam room with all the mod con showers and ice baths you need. Its walking distance to everything and if you want to just sit and enjoy the surroundings of this wonderful hotel- you can hang in the bar and enjoy live music during their Sunday brunch. Will stay here everytime I am back in Bremen.. Enjoy !
Stopped here as a change as my normal hotel was full, nice hotel. Efficient check in, nice room, good WiFI and shower, quite well appointed for a 4 star hotel and it is also very handy for the airport tram. Breakfast very German, but good as well, I now have two hotels I like in Bremen.
I was on a business trip and chose this property base on location. Not disapointed 5 minutes walk from train station. 5 minutes from main atractions Comfortable and amplíe room, in general nice facilities. Would be my first option when in Bremen
I have just returned from a 2 night stay at Swissotel in Bremen and it unfortunately did not live up to my expectations. On a positive note, it’s location is excellent and the no. 6 tram to/from the hotel to the airport is almost door to door. €2.75 for an adult from the airport and you get tickets on board. They run every 20 minutes. There are shops/bars/restaurants all on the doorstep and some amazing historic sights. The hotel entrances and reception are all very nice and clean although there is a tobacco shop leading into the entrance which leaves a very distinct smell. Reception staff very friendly and helpful and allowed me to check in early without a charge which really made my day much easier. The room was a little disappointing. Very dated and lacking the modern touches and decor I would expect. Poor lighting, a paper TV guide, only 2 English channels and a small understocked mini bar. The kettle was poor and leaked and the was no English tea bags and very small pots of milk (7.5ml) I requested English breakfast tea bags but none were available. The beds very plain and the pillows very soft. We were given a firmer pillow on request but have no idea what the ‘pillow menu’ was that I saw on the booking site. (Hotels.com) The free WiFi was up to standard and fast enough to avoid frustration and 2 Pc’s are available for use in the lobby. The bar was comfortable and the staff friendly although €10 for 2 pints of Becks is a little steam as was the €2 Kinder Beuno in the mini bar but that’s hotels I guess. I didn’t use the restaurant or the gym so won’t pass judgement. To summarise I was a little disappointed. There was no one at reception at 4.30am to check out and during my wait a little mouse ran across the floor. 4.5 stars? Certainly not in my experience but pleasant enough for the right price. Would I go back? Possibly for the right price. My tip... take some tea bags and buy milk!
Room size and fittings, view and silence all good. The staff were very good. Bathroom shower over bath poor and awkward to use. Bed topper not too comfortable. Limited weekend dining facilities in hotel and not very good quality alternatives in the immediate vicinity. But Breakfast was good
Stayed at this Hotel for two nights 9th / 11th January and had a great stay. I used this Hotel many years ago and it has got even better. The bathrooms have a walk in rain shower where as before...the shower was over the bath. Great helpful service from the staff as I had difficulty with my new smartphone. Lovely breakfast selection..please ask for great eggs to order. Rooms are spacious with plenty of English speaking channels. Highly recommend this Hotel at this time re attractive room rates... If you ask...they will supply a travel ticket.
Nice clean hotel near the center of Bremen. Parking is 5min walk Only thing is that the shower was leaking but not too bad to take a shower. Breakfast is served at the first floor. Didn't look for other facilities as I was there for business
The wonderful staff here really looked after me when I arrived, feeling somewhat 'deshabille'. The breakfast was most welcoming, and I enjoyed my rest. I was, sadly unable to visit the in house Pipe studio. The square houses a great sporting goods shop, with a good 'security products' section. See the Musicians of Bremen statue. There is a small petting zoo a short tram ride away.
Never, ever book a room in this hotel through Booking.com. It will screw you and give you a rate that is non-refundable, based on Swissotel policy. They are like vultures in trying to get your money. Their breakfast is totally overrated and overpriced. You can find much better deals in Bremen. Stay away also, LOUSY decorations, crude wooden art, and no parking
A friend and I spent a couple of nights at this hotel in the fall. It's a clean, well-run, nice hotel in an excellent location for exploring the old city and Schnoor. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was well-stocked. They even had German pretzel bread rolls! Reason I did not give an excellent review is because the bar/restaurant area is understaffed, and it took quite a long time to get drinks and to pay the bills. They need to assign more people to the bar.
