While some prefer the homely feel to this hotel versus other more minimal business hotels in Wolfsburg, the corridors and carpets seemed to sigh as you walked past. There was construction happening outside when we visited, but they did offer a drinks voucher to compensate. This wouldn't be my first choice in Wolfsburg. There is a pool but it's a half size so not the best for exercise, and the breakfast buffet isn't bad but again compared to nearby hotels could have a bit more. My stay wasn't bad but I'd try a few other hotels before I'd go back here.
Stayed here for 2 nights in business. It is currently getting extended which I didn't know when booked. Consequently nowhere to park and we didn't know in advance which was disappointing. However even with large building works the disruption to guests was minimum. The overall service was good and the rooms well presented. Would stay here again
Booked this hotel for a surprise for my partners 30th. I sent the hotel a request to see if they could put a balloon in the room when we arrived. The hotel is going under some construction but not noisy or messy. When we arrived the gentleman on the front went the extra mile. He came round to us and shook my partners hand and said happy birthday, also upgraded our room and gave us a bottle of fizz! Was such a lovely surprise wasn’t expecting. All the staff are very helpful and friendly couldn’t do enough for you. Thank you so much for having us and can’t to stay next year! Love Laura and jack x
The hotel is really good. Excellent Wi-Fi, fast and stable. Rooms with good space, well organized and clean. Furniture and bath dependency well conserved. Amenities for bath available as a courtesy and you can ask at reception for personal hygiene items in case of having forgotten them. The breakfast is paid, good, but not excellent. Great location, 5 minutes afoot of downtown by Prochestrasse, main commercial street in the city, and 10 minutes afoot of Design outlet, Phaeno, Autostadt and train station. The hotel is facing a lot of construction in both inside and outside areas, impacting litle evaluations regarding place and conditions, but all employees are doing a fantastic job to mitigate these impacts during a guest stay.
The hotel is under major construction. No information was given on this when making reservation. The place was dusty, walls covered with plastic, you never know which door is in use or where is the breakfast room tomorrow. Drilling since morning did not allow working in the room. Room and location were ok, but the price of 170 e/night was way too high. Half-price would have been fair. We felt cheated.
Stayed there for one night on a business trip. The entire entrance area was a huge construction zone what of course can happen. However, the prices were incredible high and the construction obviously not taken into consideration. 179 Euros for one night is really a number and the rooms were very average. Cleanness was okay. The toilette flush didn't work properly, the water temperature fluctuations in the shower might burn you what is solved by a little yellow warning sign. The breakfast was okay but also nothing special what I would expect for a price like that especially in a city like Wolfsburg. (Have lived there for some time)
My wife and I first came to this hotel as the Holiday Inn back in 2006, and it was the first holiday she had ever had, we had 2 teenage boys who came with us at the time. The hotel was perfect for us, it wasn't the most modern but the people were amazing, especially in the bar, Thomas and Sally where the biggest reason we extended by another week and returned the following year. Since then we return every year if not twice a year, and during this time the hotel rooms have had a make over and unfortunately some of the staff have changed, but because of the staff like Sally training the newbies up, the atmosphere is still as good as 11 years ago. Every year we book our room, 926 as it's like our room now, and the hotel always accommodate us, which adds the personal touch. Every night we eat and drink in the bar, spending a good €100 per night, but it's money well spent! It's not like eating out, you feel like your dining and drinking with friends, the people who work there become like family and will do anything to help, the food is fantastic and I've never seen the bottom of a beer glass - it's always topped up before it runs out! All in all, the hotel is fantastic, and that isn't down to the decor or how it looks, it's down to the people, and that's why we return every year and always look forward to the next holiday! We are nervous as to what the new bar looks like or will look like, I think that's down to the fact we love the place the way it is, so if anyone has any pictures they can send of what it looks like, that would be great! But.... the best place you can stay in Germany and would definitely recommend!
We were so pleased with this hotel. We were very tired after a flight and a long train journey and we booked this based on other TripAdvisor reviews and we are so glad we did. It is an easy 10 minute stroll up the high street to this place. There was a small problem with our booking when we arrived, but this was very quickly sorted out with no fuss or bother - all done with a brilliant attitude of openness and helpfulness. The big surprise for us was the mini bar is free! This really made our day! My son was so excited with his little glass bottles of apple juice. We had a beer each and a glass of Coke each, all beautifully chilled in our little fridge! I think we'll probably smile at the memory of our son's face when we told him he could help himself for the rest of our lives! It was so funny! (We are always telling him not to touch the hotel mini bars in every other hotel! Ha ha!) He was delighted! The building work going on downstairs did not bother us. They kindly give you a voucher for a free drink each downstairs in the bar but we didn't use it as we felt happy enough with the drinks provided in the mini bar. The room was spotlessly clean and the bath is huge, and filled quickly with lovely hot water. We used this as a base to visit the VW factory the next day and it was perfect for that. If we ever visit Wolfsberg again one day (& I hope that we do!) we would definitely stay here again!
Within easy walking distance to the centre. Clean, modern room with a good breakfast variety. Offers on-site parking that we had to pay for which was a surprise. Hotel was in the middle of constructing a new wing which currently impacts the hotel facilities and open areas. Looking forward to seeing the hotel after the construction work.
In walking distance of Autostadt, outlets and science center. English speaking staff. Pool department with a nice sauna. Pool towels and bathrobes provided free of charge. As we visited there was a big construction going on. We stayed during the weekend so the construction didn't affect us. We booked a room for three and ended up with a room with two 120 cm wide beds. This was little hard but we were able to push the beds together in order to get more sleeping room for all of us. The room was on the 9th floor and the elevators were little bit on the slow side. Sounds from the neighbour room could be heard from the bathroom. Nothing too disturbing though. Room had complimentary coffee and tea. Also air-conditioning.
