This review is is to highlight what a great hotel this is.Not 100% perfect but not far off.We stayed for a couple of days looking at properties in the area for possible retirement. Our stay was very good, as it is our second stay at this good hotel.l must say our room was extremely clean and staff must be well commended for this.Nick the senior member of staff who greets us for breakfast is so very friendly and so willing to help everyone and make sure the guests have everything they need.Nick remembered us from our last visit and was very keen to recommend possible good locations to find properties to look at.Keep up the good work as the way the breakfast is organised is ☆☆☆☆☆.
Stayed here for 3 nights, staff were friendly. The swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna & steam room were excellent. Room was nice if a little on the small size, binmen woke me up early in the morning. Breakfast was very good with fried bread for a change. Only problem is it gets very busy and you have to wait in the lounge for a table some mornings. WiFi excellent.
I am a regular visitor to this hotel and enjoy my time here finding the staff friendly and helpful. However what is the point in giving the leisure facilities, in particular the gym, a much needed upgrade if once the work is complete no care is to taken to maintain it to a decent standard. New gym needs cleaning regularly and changing rooms are often dirty with both under stocked with basic items. With a bit of frequent TLC and attention to detail it hopefully won't end up like the previous one!
We have stayed at the Connaught on several occasions and have never been disappointed. My wife loves the spa facilities whilst I enjoy a relaxing time in the bar/lounge ! Breakfast is amongst the best I have had over many years of staying in hotels all over the world. Bar staff and breakfast staff are helpful, efficient and always smiling. Conveniently situated for the centre of town or the BIC - thoroughly recommended
Thank to the wonderful staff, we had a room for the night. Our reservations that we had made a few months before our visit got lost in the computer systems. But a phone call the BW showed we did indeed have a reservation. We had room 3. It was very comfortable for one night. I don't think I would want to spend more time in the room than that. It was small, had a very comfortable bed, a desk chair, an arm chair, tv and an armoire for a closet. The bath had a nice size shower. The hotel has two restaurants, bar/lounge, swimming pool, business center and a spa. We only used one of the restaurants that was in the bar. It was very comfortable with lots of tables, sofas, tables and chairs. It is within walking distance of the beach and The Square. Very convenient to everything. Car park is small.
Just returned from a 2 night break as we were seeing a show. Had a standard double with balcony. Normally we would book a suite but as they had no availability we opted for a down graded room. The hotel on a arrival was very modern clean and the welcome to the hotel was great. The room was slightly dated but to be honest I slept very well everything in the room is there. We have stayed in so many hotels now over £300 per night but I'll be honest it was just as good as a 5 star. The only thing I could say is 1. The rooms are not very sound proof ( cleaners outside your room very noisy and feels like there in bed with you ) 2. Rooms need refurbishment. Other than that would definitely go back again.
Stayed for 2 nights. Bed and breakfast. Convenient location 10 minutes walk to pier. Good choice of full English breakfast. We had a room with a balcony but weather was not too good so couldn't use it. The balcony view was poor. Just looking on the back of buildings. We would recommend this hotel and would stay again. The only negative was the car park. Not enough spaces and no available street parking.
The staff were friendly, helpful and appeared to really enjoy looking after the guests. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they always had a ready smile. The Hotel was very clean and welcoming with lovely flowers in the reception area. Really enjoyed the excellent spa facilities but think that possibly the lockers could have been better maintained. Would definately stay there again.
We loved everything about this hotel; the room, the restaurant, the service, the pool, the location all worked for us however the IVY covering the walls all around the building may look nice to some but we hated it as it makes it impossible to open the windows properly and invite many CREEPY CRAWLEYS into the rooms. Would like to stay there again but the ivy creeping into the windows is a serious issue.
Booked this hotel in Bournemouth for a short break. Found this hotel to be clean professional and a lovely place to stay. All staff very polite, helpful and looked professional throughout the whole of our visit. Added bonus was that we had use of the free car, park swimming pool etc. Breakfast was included and that was waiter service. Very nice. The only down side was Bournemouth itself. I do not think I would visit again. The shopping centre was not great and somewhat tatty. Also not much to see and do on the promenade area - also looking scruffy now. We spend most of our time in the Poole town and harbour area - which was quaint, appealing to look at and had many old pubs and lovely restaurants in which to visit. We got a 48 hour tourist bus pass to Poole which was well worth the money. Apart from that I would recommend this hotel
