We stayed for a week on a very good offer. Clean 2 room apartment with side view at the sea. We did not have food included, so we could arrange this ourselves. But all the necessities were in the apartment. Kitchen with all supplies. Supermarket at the resort and the village just 20 minutes walking. We took the bus to town and taxi back, all affordable. The room was cleaned every day and the ladies were friendly. We enjoyed a good time for a week, sun sea beach swimming pool. We recommend this place and you can read the reviews here, but just read between the lines and experience it yourself. Because the opinions are individually and if you expect a decent apartment at a beach resort, this is the place to go.
The good bits : The hotel is situated outside of Obzor main town about a 10 minute walk. Location wise it benefits from being on a quieter stretch of the beach. There is a small supermarket in the complex and just outside. They operate a shuttle bus into the town during the day and evening which is well priced, free for kids and really handy. The quality of the hotel building and rooms is good, they are well maintained. The bad bits : We stayed as a family of 4. The room was nice, however the balcony where we want to spend the evening or eat out on as it had self catering was too small, at best only two of us could comfortably sit on the balcony and you would struggle to eat on it. The shower in the room had good pressure but the hot water never and I mean never lasted for us all to have a shower in the morning or evening. One of us always had a stone cold shower. Towels were a persistent issue, we only ever were given 2 towels for a family of four, I spent the first few days chasing down housekeeping or bugging reception but in the end got so fed up I gave up. One of our children spilt juice on the duvet so I asked for a clean duvet and covering, I got clean sheets but the duvet never materialised despite asking. I gave up and in the end they shared a duvet for the rest of the holiday. They only clean the room and change the linen every 4 days which for a beach hotel with sand etc in the room is not enough. I did complain about this and they did come in and sweep it daily half way through our stay Breakfast was not good, salads, cheeses, eggs all fine but the meat, croissant were really cheap processed like spam or stale. They obviously cut costs as much as they could on breakfast. Breakfast was a scrum for tables, ques and waiting where the breakfast area wasn't big enough. In the end we stopped going even though we were paying for it as it was getting us down. There is no management over the pool area so you have to get up at 7am in order to get a sun lounger there aren't enough and generally people put their stuff down and don't stay there so most days only 20% of loungers have people on them which is frustrating. Even though the hotel has its own beach you have to pay to use the sunloungers and brollies. They charged 16Lev for this or around £8 for 2 which is really really expensive for Bulgaria. The only good bit about it was you could get a lounger at the front. The lifeguards were switched on and attentive which was good but the sea was only green flag calm for a few days over the two weeks there. Most days amber rough so the kids had to be really supervised even in the surf. A couple of days you couldn't go in at all because it was very rough. In summary we paid a high premium for it being a four star, quality hotel and just felt it we had been ripped off with what we got for what we paid. We won't be returning.
Do not leave hotel, surroundng areas very uneven and run down, not disabled friendly. Food barely ok, very poor choice of food. If you have children beware of the so called lifeguard round the pool, uusure if he was a lifeguard as he was always inebriated and constantly lost contril of his bladder in his trousers. The rep named Barney hours of work were displayed however, he was never at the hotel. When i called with a problem i was told to sit and wait, after waiting 2 hrs i asked reception to call him to see where he was and i was told that Barney had decided not cone so tough. Entertainment was very poor , it is not a 41/2 star Hotel. If you want my advice do not go stay well clear spend your money elsewhere. Never again....
A nice place, the beach is good, no crowded. Cleaning must be better!Don't take the all inclusive services, you can eat better in town or cooking yourself. You have to pay for the sunbed 10 € per day if you want to stay on the beach, it is not a very modest amount. Enjoy the holidays 🌞🌊
I will start with positives - good location directly on nice beach and pools for babies (although the water could be a bit warmer). Rooms big enough. Shuttle service to Obzor town. Unfortunately that is it. Rooms dirty, smelly bathrooms and very poor cleaning service (they changed towels and folded our beds but no cleaning of the floor). Staff - not helpful with troubles understanding. For example - our friends asked for baby cot but after one night decided not to use it. They call reception to let them know to pick it up. The next day they called again. Nobody came. At the checkout they were asked to pay for whole week and were told that they should have brought it to reception (not very 4 star treatment). And food - do not even know what to say because it was disaster. We had all inclusive and literally it was the same for lunch and dinner all week long. And it was not tasteful at all. We tried hotels a la carte restaurant - very bad experience, pricey and we got our food after 1h 15m. Overall - could be a good resort but need to do major changes. Right now an average max 3 star hotel. Shame :(
I love this place! The complex is right on the beach, very convenient. Amazing view from the balcony. The only downside was the poor cleaning. There was hair and sand on the floor in our apartment. We had to clean by ourselves, there was vacuum cleaner. All kitchen equipment was with food stains - forks, spoons, cups. Shower was dirty.
We've stay for a week in the resort. We've enjoyed the pools and the beach which are well maintained. We loved our stay but would be best if the food could be improved. We didn't have the food included so we could go to the Obzor town to eat. Nice views from the terrace as we've stay at the 5th floor.
Our stay at Obzor Beach Resort was a great disappointment. The room was dirty (lint and dust all over the appartment, mold in the shower, stained walls). We asked them to change our room, they sent two cleaning ladies who, really annoyed asked us "What's the problem?!", They sprayed some dissinfectant în the bathroom floor and wiped it with a towel!! We asked again at the reception to give us another room because we couldn't wash our 10 months old babies in a shower cabin full of mold. The problem wasn't solved until we contacted our travel agency. When they contacted the hotel, they were told we haven't filed any complaints. Finally, after our travel agency insisted, they changed our room, the next afternoon. The food was terrible. We paid for a package including breakfast and dinner, but could hardly eat anything. Not only the food didn't taste good, but some of it was stale (watermelon that had gone sour, stale ham, stale fruits and vegetables). The staff was unhelpful. We asked for a clean sheet because one of our babies had been feeling sick and made one phone call and two visits at the reception to, finally, after 5 hours, get one clean sheet. It's too bad they have a great location and big and confortable appartments and such poor services.
Obzor combine both sea and mountain. The location of the hotel is perfect. The beach is wide. There are around 3 or 4 pools, 3 bars. The only thing I didn't like about the hotel is the food. Every day it was the same - greasy and untasted. As a Bulgarian I can tell that the food has nothing in common with the delicious Bulgarian cuisine.
Definitely not 4* hotel as advertisements states. Located on the beach approx 2km from city centre. Average apartments. 1 small bottle of shower gel per person per all stay. We stayed two weeks. Water in swimming pools are a bit too cold. Sunbeds are "reserved" with towels from very early morning till late afternoon. Most of the people are not coming to the pool for all day, just keep towels on the sunbeds. Hotel staff do not care about it at all. As well, noone is interested in children filling the pools with the sand from the beach or splashing water all arround on the people and their belongings. It's ok if children up to 15 years old are not wearing anything. But probably its not something hotel is responsible for. If you want to take a sunbed near the sea, you need to pay aditionally €10 a day for two sunbeds and umbrella. It doesn't matter that hotel is "BEACH RESORT" but the beach do not belong to the hotel. Food always the same. Its ok for couple of days but not for 2 weeks. Beach bars are closing very early and its nothing to do around the hotel after. You need to go 2 km to the centre of the city to find some evening attractions. No any entertainment or shows at hotel at all. Just regular apartments with the pools. You can sit and be jealous watching fireworks and hearing sounds of the shows from hotels in the neighborhood. Wouldn't go again.
