We rented a two bedroom apartment for a week so that we could visit Boston with friends. For us, as two couples, it was perfect to have two bedrooms and two bathrooms and also shared living space where we could spend time and relax together. The kitchen was a bit tired and the cooker and toaster were a bit temperamental, but it was adequate for breakfast and had all of the crockery and utensils we needed. Eating out was quite expensive in that neighbourhood so we had a Chinese takeaway one night and noodles from Wagamama in Quincy Market another night. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of storage space. The bathrooms were also a bit dated, but functional. Most of the time it was quiet and peaceful with no noise from surrounding apartments, but on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night we could hear very loud music with a heavy bass coming from somewhere nearby. It went on until past 2am which was quite antisocial and did disturb us all trying to sleep. Overall, we knew that there would be a compromise for the location, which was ideal for getting around to visit all of the sights we wanted to see. We had the Freedom Trail round the corner, T Stops for several lines to get to the museums in the south, Harvard to the north and the airport to the east. We also took a couple of boat trips from the Long Wharf which was a 5 minute walk away. For grocery shopping, it was a 5-10 minute walk to Downtown Crossing where there was an excellent supermarket called Roche. It had a huge choice of everything we could possibly need, including all food, wine, beer and spirits. In the other direction it was a 5 minute walk to Boston General Market which was a collection of food, grocery, produce and artisan outlets under one roof, together with even more produce stalls outside. Overall, I would recommend One India Street and would go back again. The concierges were particularly helpful and friendly. The only reason I haven’t given it 4 stars is because of the weekend noise.
We loved our stay at Oakwood. Virtually everywhere was within walking distance and the subway station is close by to get to everywhere else. The apartment was lovely. Two bedrooms, kitchen, spacious living area and free wifi. There was always a person at reception which gave a feeling of safety and security. There are a couple of 7-eleven stores close by but we found the walgreens on Washington street (opposite old south meeting house) best to get our supplies for breakfast etc. There is also Faneuil Hall 2 minutes walk away for a wide choice of food. If we come to Boston again we would definitely stay at Oakwood again.
Stayed at Oakwood for 10 days and enjoyed the close proximity to Faneuil Hall with lots of restaurants and shops. The area is in walking distance to downtown and provides a nice atmosphere for a vacation in the center of the city
I really enjoyed our stay at oakwood. Walking distance to the downtown area and Faneuil Hall. We stayed at a 2 bedroom apartment which was comfortable and spacious. The kitchen had everything we need including a full size fridge. The apartment and bathrooms were clean and modest. Everything we needed was there, including a fitness room. Check in was a breeze. A concierge was availabe during the day for questions, and other needs. Will certainly book again next time we're in Boston.
We booked this one bedroom apartment as we were struggling to find a nice hotel. In hindsight I am pleased as we were certainly not disappointed! The apartment was in a great location and it was nice and roomy. The lounge had a nice comfortable sofa with a tv and dining room table. The kitchen and bathroom are both a little dated but the main thing is the kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom had a good powerful shower and a nice bath. The bedroom was adequately sized with good wardrobe and cupboard space. Another plus for this apartment is that it is well equipped and has all the little things that you need. There is plenty of power plugs in all rooms, mirrors in the bedroom and bathroom, a hairdryer, iron, ironing board and all the crockery that you need, kettle, toasted etc, washing up liquid and a tea towel. There are also little extras to see you through your first day or so - a little washing powder, a couple of dishwasher tablets, a dish cloth, a toilet roll, kitchen towel, small bottle of shampoo and conditioner plus a bar of soap. Plus 2 small bottles of water in the fridge. It feels lovely and safe having a concierge too plus we were able to get a couple of parcels delivered which the concierges signed for. The apartment is right by the Aquarium tube station but if like us you are good walkers, we walked to most places. I would definitely opt for an apartment in future as we had a number of breakfast and a couple of evening meals in which helped the budget and the calorie count! It's also so nice having somewhere to sit down and put your feet up and make a cup of tea and just relax a little. As we were heading onto other locations it was great to make use of the washer and dryer too.
Family of 4 from the UK stayed in a 2 bed apartment on our recent trip to Boston, fabulous apartment well equipped and comfortable, great location with many of Boston’s fabulous sites within walking distance, a late check out was really helpful for a late flight home. Highly recommended.
The Apartments at 1 India St are perfect. We rented a one bedroom apartment for 4 nights. The apartment was very clean. It was very utilitarian. I believe the more expensive apartments were a bit fancier, but we chose the least expensive option. We enjoyed a fully supplied kitchen, a living room, a separate bedroom and a decent bathroom. The wifi was easy to access. The apartment also had its own mini washer and dryer. The lobby was always staffed by a helpful, friendly concierge. Within walking distance we found Faneuil Hall, the New England Aquarium, and little Italy. The neighborhood was upscale and had great food and drink choices.
We loved the location, very quiet at night, close to everything, we walked the length & breadth of the city and beyond ! We would definitely stay here again if in Boston! We had a two bedroom apartment, beautifully furnished, views towards the harbour and it was great to go ‘home’ at the end of the day. Comfy bed, great shower, great full kitchen! Added bonus was going across the road to the clock tower with views at the top, across the city! Great concierge staff everyday ~ thanks for having us Oakwood!
Rented a 2 bed 2 bath apartment for 6 nights. Great size for the three of us. Location superb. Bathrooms a bit tired but clean with plenty of towels. Handy having the washer and dryer. Concierge on Wednesday 10th Jan very helpful as he brought our delayed luggage up to our apartment when the courier delivered it. Concierge also helpful on Saturday morning (13th Jan) when trying to get a taxi. Would definitely recommend the apartments.
I have to say we have never rented an apartment before for our holidays but I can honestly say this will be our first option for ALL future holidays. The apartment we had at 1 India Street was stunning. Large, comfortable, well positioned, clean and friendly staff. We are coming back to Boston, and we will be staying here again
