2 Suite Condo, 2 Pools, Tranquil, "downtown" Book now for 2019/2020 Season
It is in the most convenient, yet quiet location in Borrego. This two suite, two-story condo sits off the main drive in Borrego Springs, but remains quiet and relaxing with only 28 units in the entire facility. This is a historic location in Borrego Springs, built in 1967 by the leading mid-century architect, Richard M. Zerbe. Construction is of slump block, giving great sound-proofing and lovely textured walls. This condo boasts plenty of period details, including unpainted oak woodwork, iconic light fixtures and MCM furniture but is still comfortable and homey; it's "Cowboy Modern"-- 1960s mid-century modern meets ranch style. The views are fantastic. From the North- suite you see Indian Head, the Angel of Coyote Mountain and the Santa Rosa Mountains. From the South suite you overlook one of the pools and across the desert to see "church row" and the Pinyon Mountains. Both suites are upstairs and each has its own private bath, sitting area, bedroom and deck with all new beds, linens (Portuguese flannel for winters, high thread count cotton for summer) and custom draperies. Each has a coffee maker in-room, so you don’t need to leave your private oasis in the morning to enjoy stunning views. "Poolside" Bedroom has a king size bed; "Indian Head" has a queen. Downstairs has a half-bath and is an open floor plan with a fully equipped kitchen, dining room and large living room that looks out on to the first floor patio. We are steps away from one of two pools, but far enough away to have peace and quiet on your patio and decks. The condo has covered parking for two cars and we have a secure storage area for your bikes or other larger items. This is a non-smoking condo. You will have a hard time deciding if you want to create your own fabulous meals (vintage cookbooks available to inspire, with a pantry full of gadgets to make cooking easy) and stay in for some HDTV watching (smartTV, + cable & wifi internet) or take a very short walk to some flavorful, local restaurants. There is plenty of shopping and night life to entertain you just a stroll away. You can walk to the wonderful Anza Borrego Visitor Center (1.6 miles), rent a bike and go off-road or drive out to see the Galleta Meadows Metal Sculptures by Ricardo Breceda or walk down the block to the Borrego Art Institute. Borrego Springs is a great place for those who love the outdoors, with hiking, biking, swimming, tennis, bird watching, star gazing and golf right in the area. You are a 30 minute drive to the Salton Sea and Ocotillo Wells Off-Road state park. We have games, books, DVDs, pool floats & towels and portable speakers so you can walk in, unpack your clothes and start having fun. Acquired and restored by in us August 2016, we are not only happy to share our home with you, but we want to share our ideas on how to make the most of your time in Borrego. We provide information on where we like to dine (and what menu items we love), best hikes, favorite golfing, things you must see and do and a schedule of local events you might want to check out. Of course the Villas at Borrego Springs is so tranquil that you may just decide to stay here and do nothing—Enjoy!
