We had been appointed by the Bridegroom to provide bar management for their wedding function in early April. I had been liaising with Amanda Kerr from start to finish. We have worked in many hotels and venues before, but the treatment we got from Amanda was above and beyond. She was absolutely fantastic, always replying to emails promptly, good sense of humour, she let us get on with what we had to do. its a dream for vendors to be working there. There is genuinely no criticism to give out. complete flawless service which is very rare in the wedding industry. Look forward working there again with Amanda and her team.

No one on reception.eventually someone came said we paid 1 night? For our prepaid 2 night b&b 1 eve meal package. Told to come bk in 10. Went to bar 2 barstaff walked off? I sent e mail complaint. Then bk to reception our reservation was amended. On arival to the room complimentry wine for lack of service v nice thankyou. Went to look for plug to charge phone totally shocked sticking out from just under the bed someones vibrator!!!!absolutly terrible.have they even serviced this room? Called reception, lady came removed item asked if we want diff room..YES! they put us in a nice big suite. Eve meal was 100% but checked before ordering if ours was capped on our package. Waitress checked at receotion & Told no. When we came to check out nxt day there was a bill for part of our meal? I refused as we checked b4 ordering. Luckilly the waitress came to reception on departure.. unnaceptable standards for a 4☆ hotel with that service?what a birthday escape that was......

Stayed here for a one night stopover in London. At the price of £68 for a king size double room, I was expecting something in the vain of cheap hotel chains. But git a very pleasant surprise. The hotel was much nicer and much higher class than its other chain rivals. At this price it's a real bargain. The staff are professional, the rooms are very nicely decorated, swimming, gym, car parking and WiFi are all included in the price. The only reason for my 4 star rating is the breakfast buffet which was not really any good. Otherwise a brilliant hotel to stay while on London.

My wife and I stayed here the night before going to see Strictly Come Dancing at the nearby BBC Elstree studios. The perceptive Receptionist spotted what we were staying for and, luckily, advised us to get there well before the 9am ticket validation time as many people queued from the early hours - more tickets are issued than the actual audience needed, so it's first come, first served..! Had a nice meal on the Friday night, left the Hotel at 5.30am on Saturday and back by 10am to enjoy a great Breakfast, followed by a power nap before returning to the Studios at 3.30pm. Slept well after that and another great Breakfast on Sunday morning before heading home. A good all round hotel with good food, helpful staff and a nice quiet and comfortable room - we'd stay again.

Arrived at 21:30 on a Sunday, to be told that the Restaurant does not open on Sunday and also Bar Food stops at 10:00. As an IHG member I had to ask for an upgrade (normally done automatically). If this was an upgrade then the rest of the hotel must be in really bad shape. In my "Executive Room", the paint was flaking off the pipes, the furniture, was scratched and tarnished, the carpets were very badly stained, some of the light did not work and the air conditioning was either full on or off. I ordered food from room service, which was reasonable. In the morning I got up to fine that the basics were missing from my room ( Toilet roll), I discussed my complaints with the Duty Manager, I felt that she must have heard it all before, as she went to investigate, but got the receptionist to call me back with an apology. Never did get the Toilet roll. A very, tired, and dowdy hotel in need of a serious makeover. Only stay here if you really have to be in the area, otherwise go further afield. Not one to rush back to.

Having stayed here a few years ago and thought it needed renovation at that time we thought we would try it again as it was so cheap. Well, there is a reason it's so cheap, the rooms are awful. Hole in carpet Bathroom mirror had rust on it Holes in bedsheets Bed base not attached to headboard so moves away from wall. Room smelled of stale smoke Wallpaper peeling off walls To cap it all, there were two of us but they only put ONE bath towel in the bathroom. After searching we found the other bath towel in the drawer under the TV. Why would you put it in there?. Common sense would say put it in the bathroom. Basically this place has not been touched in years, rely on old customers who don't care to come back and new customers who they don't seem to care if they come back or not. Considering it was a weekend there was only one person on reception and everyone had to wait to be served. Considering this is a holiday inn you are left wondering if they have stolen the signs and actually its privately owned. Either way we shall not be staying there again. Left felling dirty and smelly.

In truth, I've now stayed at this hotel in the past year and each time, I've become more impressed. The first time, I stayed with my Wife shortly after a Lumbar Decompression operation. The staff were unaware of my condition but seeing I was struggling, went out if their way, during our stay, to help in every way they could. Working in Kentish Town, there are many closer hotels and so it's taken a while to think about driving the 12 miles, to repay their kindness by giving the hotel my business again - and again, I enjoyed the same level of considerate service. This hotel 'stands out from the crowd' thanks to the staff, both behind the scene and front if house! Thank you ( a to be, regular guest, methinks!)

Stay at IHG hotels on a regular basis and this is the one I will not be returning to. The bedrooms need an urgent overhaul. Wallpaper peeling off, damp odour, net curtains that could do with a wash and black out curtains that have seen better days. Hairs in bathroom from previous occupant. Overall feeling of grubbiness. The positives were welcoming check in staff and good choice at breakfast. Breakfast staff were warm and friendly. Ate in the bar in the evening and food fine. Staff not warm or welcoming in comparison to reception & breakfast staff but hey they could have been having a bad day and we're all entitled to one of those now & again!

I stayed here for business reasons & checked in at midnight. It was a quick check in process but the reception failed to tell me anything about breakfast or checking out time and there is no documentation in the room about it. The air con in the room rattled all night and every noise from staff / house keeping / other guests could be heard from the corridor, every slam and bang and I hardly slept a wink because of it. The plugs are weirdly positioned, my kettle had to boil on the floor. Breakfast was ok, but a guest politely came over to the restaurant to ask a housekeeping question and every breakfast staff began shouting loudly in unison 'NO GO TO HOUSEKEEPING, THIS IS THE RESTAURANT' across the whole restaurant, not a very calming place. The coffee machine wasn't working either. I really don't think it is worth the money at all. Definitely time to up their game! Stay elsewhere if you can in Elstree.

We arrived on Friday evening for a two day stay while visiting London. The Hotel is easy to find and has a large and secure car park. Reception was efficient and polite and we were made welcome. The hotel has a pool and spa which we didn't use but many people were doing so. After a long trip, we unpacked and popped to the bar for a well earned drink and rest. What a mistake! Service was attrocious. We waited for several minutes for someone to appear then when he did they had no Boddingtons and a very poor alternative selection of beers. On going for a second round we waited even loner and I had to go to reception to ask if anyone was serving. Even the manageress could not find anyone to serve us and she had no key to the till so we sat for over 15 minutes waiting to be served. We didn't bother with any further drinks. The rooms were comfortable but in need of refurbishment. Breakfast was better and filling but some items took a while to replace so you were left to eat what was available. I have had a lot better breakfasts and Holiday Inn should have better service than this. The hotel is a five minute taxi ride to the station at a cost of just under a fiver. At weekends it is cheaper to leave your car at the station for £2:50 all day. Overall it is comfortable but lacks service and character. I would not stop here again.
