I loved this hotel. Customer focused from check in to check out (and beyond). All staff were helpful and efficient. My room was very comfortable. Location was excellent, near great shops and restaurants. And I enjoyed some "happy time" in the lobby each night with complementary wine and cheese, what a lovely idea. Would definitely return and highly recommend.
A friendly traditional French hotel . We really enjoyed our stay here this week. Our room was small but comfortable. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Breakfast was fine. Best of all was happy hour a t about 6 pm when wine and cheese was available for guests. A great way to relax an d meet fellow guests , sharing recommendations for Bordeaux. Bus number 1 takes you from the airport for €1.60 to the Gambetta area near the hotel. Beware this bus does not stop in Place Gambetta. Lots of cafes ,bistros and restaurants in the area. A good base to explore the beautiful city and do some shopping.
Hotel Continental is centrally located and just a few blocks from the light rail line, making it convenient to sites throughout the city. Pros: The staff was extremely helpful, and the wine and cheese in the afternoon was a welcoming touch. Cons: I wish the web site were more explicit about the convenient nearby parking. Our room was about the size one would expect in Paris -(very small), and the room layout wasted a lot of space; it seemed we were constantly opening or closing doors to get from the bedroom into the closet or bathroom. My main complaint is that there was mold in the shower. I didn't say anything to the management at the time because I thought mold was preferable to the strong cleaners that would be used to correct the problem.
The hotel was perfect located for exploration of the city. Almost everything within walking distance. Comfortable clean rooms with helpful staff. Best off all free wine and cheese in the small lobby around 6 pm as a nice start of the evening that really made you feel at home. A Nespresso machine was also available in the lobby
We stayed at the Hotel Continental for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms have all you need for a stay here and are comfortable and clean. The location is prefect to explore Bordeaux and the happy hour cheese and wine is a great way to relax after a day sightseeing before heading out for the evening. We got to meet a few of the people staying in the hotel as well. Breakfast was good, plenty of choices.
We stayed here as a family in two rooms for three nights in August 2017. We had a very good experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. It's location is great and what makes it superb is that it is completely quite. We were treated every night to wine and chested and free coffee. Great place highly recommended.
This was nice, close to the river and right downtown. I really liked the helpful staff who spoke English and helped us with our bags to store for the day. The wine tasting at night with cheese and bread was fantastic, they went all out. The lift broke as we hauled our bags up three flights of stairs but then got fixed the same day. Bummer. Very nice though.
lovely hotel, nice wine and cheese, nice friendly english spoken staff we had two rooms double. one should be single because is small. inside rooms no view. restuarent nice steak and sammon. good place to eat
The location is perfect. The price is reasonable. The breakfast is good. The staff is great. The only problems are the rooms (so small that even the mice are hunchbacked) and the beds (which were worn out and way too soft. I am not joking about the rooms being small; I am used to tiny hotel rooms, but this room redefined "tiny". Once again, the front counter staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Other support staff were pleasant, smiled at us and were busy keeping the place running. Breakfast was just OK. Overall, the hotel room did not please the significant other. She would have rather that we had spent a bit more for more comfort.
We stayed here for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Although we were some distance from the railway station, the hotel itself is a couple of minutes walk from all the shops and is close to tram stops. The room was clean and comfortable and had tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was good although at busy times we ran out of bread, croissants etc and had to ask for more. What was nice was the "happy hour" which we participated in each night, with free samples of cheese and bread and plenty of wine. It was nice to talk to other guests from around the world whilst sampling some very good wine. There was no restaurant for evening meals but our favourite restaurant was next door, serving lovely food at reasonable prices. Staff were lovely and very helpful. I would definitely stay here again if I visited Bordeaux again.
