I was with my "full family" and the front desk really like dogs! A very good buffet breakfast. Their own parking lot. WiFi worked well. And very close to old Bonn and Beethoven's birth house. The main trains station is also walking distance.
Booking by email went smoothly. We were received in a friendly way. The room was nice, with good airconditioning. The hotel is in the middle of the city centre. The city centre makes a shabby impression. In the small square in front of the hotel, groups of men were drinking and talking loudly until deep in the night.
My wife and I arrived in Bonn with our 5 year old Poodle, Bruno, with no reservations. After driving past the main station, we found a parking garage and stopped to look for a place to stay. The Hotel Consul was the first hotel we found online near the location we were standing when we started searching. We crossed the street and headed down the street. My first instinct was that this area did not appear safe; there were people standing around on the corners just hanging out. We checked the hotel and the rooms were nice, small, but very normal for hotels in Europe. And with breakfast, pet fee & parking, the price was still very reasonable. We ventured out, and once you cross the main road you are in the historic district. The guys on the street corner now appeared to just be hanging outside some of the local night clubs. There are several nice restaurants in the area, and only a few minutes walk away from the Bonn Munster and Beethoven's birth place. The parking at the hotel is cheaper than the nearby parking garage, and is secured next to the hotel. The hotel staff were friendly and even greeted our dog. The breakfast buffet even had scrambled eggs and bacon, not a normal dish for European breakfast buffets. Our stay in Bonn was short, but we will visit again, and we will likely stay at the Hotel Consul.
Its a good, clean hotel. Cleaned daily. Near to Rail and tram station. Accessibility is good. Breakfast is equally good, wish they add some variery. Staff is very courteous, made good friends as well.
This place was neat and tidy. It is very close to the center and the stuff was friendly. We arrived late and left early, so there is nothing more to say. We didn't book breakfast and didn't interact with the stuff too much. Just an OK place to spend the night while on business trip.
I already stayed at this hotel twice and both Times i was happy. The breakfast Buffet is really great and fresh. It is quiet and the people at the reception were very nice and friendly. The location ist very central the road is not particularly beautiful.. Its a corner street but who cares when you get out you are in the heart of downtown. I will be returning endlich of the year.
We only decided to drive to Germany for the xmas markets the week before our trip. We have stayed in Cologne and Dusseldorf before so tried to book hotels there, they were all fully booked .After checking the distances we decided on Bonn. I am so pleased we did, This hotel is lovely, and all the staff are so cheerful, helpful and understanding. First impressions were slightly intimidating. Pulling in off the main road the hotel is immediately on the left with a small car park for 9-10 cars, but on the right hand side at the top of a small square seems to be a hang out area for groups of people and we felt wary about leaving the car. But hotel staff assured us there was nothing to worry about. The whole time we were there we didn't encounter any problems. The hotel itself was warm and clean. Plenty of hot water and good wifi connection. BUT, I really did miss not having a safe in the room. I dare say if I had asked at reception they would have held on to our things. But its not the same as the convenience of having one in your own room. We always travel with our own kettle, so hot drinks were not a problem. The hotel is steps away from the Christmas Market, and it was a nice one too. The main shopping area is also moments away, with lots of choice, and plenty of eating choices as well. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, meat, cheese, bread, and also scrambled egg, sausage and bacon. Really everything you need to set you up for the day. One day all the sausages had gone so I asked the waitress, five minutes later freshly cooked ones appeared. Cannot fault that service at all. After our return home I thought I had left my glasses behind, I contacted the hotel, after checking they discovered I hadn't left those. But I had left an item of clothing which they offered to send back to me. The staff are all lovely and whenever a guest appeared they had a smile and a joke with them. If I ever come back to Bonn, this hotel is one I would definitely stay at again.
I stayed in Hotel Consul for 2 nights and can reccomend it. The staff is wonderful, friendly and ready to help. Breakfast was delicious, always a variety of tasty choices and hot drinks are being made directly for you. Room was nice and clean, with big TV a bar fridge, soft carpet and a welcome mini Haribo sweets. The only thing I didnt like during my short stay was the shower head which can be only moved up and down the bar, but I coudnt take it to hold in the hand. It was not so easy to shower, but on the other hand there was plenty of hot water. The last benefit I would like to mention is the suitability for disabled customers using wheelchairs - the room designed for disabled customers has a good equipped bath for special needs and the whole hotel is barrier-free.
This was my first trip to a foreign country. ADVANTAGES:-central location -The room was cleaned thoroughly every day -The Staff were all very friendly and helpful -Nonsmoking (for all rooms) DİSADVANTAGES: -for wireless, every day you have to enter the same password again (iş seyahatleri için yeterli ve uygun fiyatlı bir otel.Konakladığım süre zarfında hiç bir sorunla karşılaşmadım. Bonn'un merkezinde yer alması yeterince cazip)
The hotel is centrally located, a quick walk from the nearest tram stop. The staff were really very friendly and helpful. The rooms are big enough, but just a bit dated and tired. They were clean though. The shower is great. The WiFi was strong and reliable. I didn't have breakfast.
