We stayed 3 nights at Al Cappello Rossi . The room was very clean and the mattress was very comfortable. We had a street view and a little noise at night but with window closed it did not disturb us . The bathroom has a shower and tub . Good water pressure . Not a lot of drawer space but sufficient. The major benefit to this hotel is location, location , location . It is just off the main square and is close walking distance to shopping, attractions and restaurants. No need for car or public transportation. There is a very comfortable living room area in front and to the side of the reception desk . They have water , coffee and cappuccino maker available for guests . Just adjacent to the reception area is a cafe that serves a breakfast buffet including eggs , bacon , deli meats , pastries and cereals . A very good quality and value for 10 Euros . The staff was great to handle any request and I would highly recommend Al Cappello Rosso .
We were given a large apartment for our 5 night stay, it was clean and very comfortable and so quiet. It was a little chilly but the hotel turned the temperature up for us. The apartment was just round the corner from the hotel. There is a cafe next door but we ate breakfast at the hotel. It was 10 euros each and it was plenty and lovely pastries and coffee. Only negative was we had 3 TVs and no english language channels!
We recently spent a week travelling around Italy spending our first weekend in Bologna. This is a gem of a hotel perfectly situated seconds from Piazza Maggiore. Our room was in the loft and excellent. We like exploring cities and coming back to our room to use the bathroom or just rest worked well; there are limited bathrooms in Italy so the location of Al Capello Rosso could not be better. Also, if you visit Bologna in the winter or early spring it does rain, the arcades of Bologna are a dream as you don't get wet. The staff at the hotel are great and are more than happy to help if you need them. The bus drop from the airport is the first stop. Get off the bus and turn left then take the first right. Just keep walking straight for about 15 minutes and you end up in the Piazza Maggiore. Walk past the statue of Neptune and into another square the hotel is tucked away in the far right hand corner. This is a gem of hotel if you want a city break in a central location.
My husband and I stayed on one of the apartment units owned by the hotel and it was ideal for a longer stay. Clean, spacious apartment with two sleeping areas, a large living/dining area and separate kitchen. Great location, friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Rooms in his lovely albergo are small but well appointed. Great shower. Good bed with wide choice of pillows. Great concierge service from front desk. Breakfast was good but not great. Location is so close to historic centre of city. We enjoyed our stay.
The best thing about this hotel is its location, you can’t get much more central than this, and yet it is on a quiet side street and very quiet. The rooms are quite small but beds are super comfortable and with touches of luxury. Many good restaurants in the surrounding streets.
Smack in the middle of old town Bologna makes this hotel very attractive. Add to that spacious, charming bedrooms, spaciously equipped for your needs. We actually had a two-storey room with two separate bath- and cloakrooms.
This is a quirky boutique hotel in a great location on the corner of piazza maggoire. clean modern friendly and helpful staff Excellent breakfast and we ate in the restaurant one evening which was very good and reasonably priced frequented by locals - always a good sign!
I have used this hotel before and it just gets better and better. There were 3 couples who went to Bologna this year for a New Years eve short break. As usual, the service was excellent, the rooms are individual and somewhat quirky but that is part of the charm. The location is brilliant and we would not stay anywhere else if we could help it in Bologna........ But DON'T TELL EVERYONE about it!!
This is a good little boutique hotel situated a stones throw from Piazza Maggoire and many, many restaurants & cafes. It is a bit of a challenge if you are coming by car but they do have a parking garage very close by. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My room was quite a good size with a very comfortable bed.
