Street noise was loud inside the room due to inadequate glazing and walls paper thin so next door conversations heard loud and clear ! No tea and coffee-making facilities and sparks in the electric plugs which were ancient and loose-fitting to the wall. Staff were mostly great except one of the reception staff (male) who told me I should pay $11 for wifi (it was in fact free) and another who refused to give me a kettle when I requested one. Depite it supposedly being a high security hotel (with people on the main door), during the week I found doors wide open to the street where anyone could have entered in broad daylight. Breakfast was OK - but rather chaotic and on more than one morning there was no coffee for quite a long time (no coffee in Colombia?!).
- Would have given 2 out of 5 but staff were friendly and helpful so 3; room itself and bed comfortable - Took 10 minutes to be checked in (not including queue to be served) and I had to produce my passport a total of 3 times during stay - I appreciate can't change fact many rooms face the busy road so constantly noisy, but due to the glazing being poor when it rained there was a loud and annoying drip-drip-drip onto the ledge - could engineer that out - The wifi was inadequate; I often couldn't keep a decent connection - Small point but after 1st day my floor towel was taken and never replaced for remaining 3 days - Don't like how taxi costs more if the hotel call it for you - No water provided in room (nor tea/coffee facilities) - The breakfast was less than would expect - Single coffee dispenser very slow, only hot item provided is eggs and 2 out of 3 times even this was empty Regarding conference facilities: - For 120 delegates they provided one coffee station with one person serving, with slow-dispensing coffee and often the single milk jug run out, and if you wanted tea they would have to fetch you a tea bag - The screen and projection go right down to the floor, so the vast majority of delegates can only ever see the top half of the screen - Lunches and dinners: despite being told well in advance by the organisers, and during the conference, that there were a number of vegetarians, this was not catered to. Once after the server confirmed the vegetable soup had no meat, I began eating it to find there was chicken in it. Example of 4 x dinner options: 1. Red meat, 2. White meat, 3. Fish, 4. Rice with vegetables and meat in - they could have made the rice dish without meat at least, but no! There was a decent salad spread but once I had to pick out the squares of ham from this.
Facing the Uni, the street is annoyingly loud. Traffic, honking , yelling and a busker playing the xylophone! Could not get any sleep. Which is a shame because the bed is large clean and some good pillows. Internet was mediocre. It would be fast some times. And then completely go off. The worst part for me was the lack of vegan options during the breakfast. They seemed to get annoyed anytime I asked for a vegetable milk for the cereals. Honestly. Just 3 blocks away there is hotel that offers a menu full of vegan options, has a pool and a spa. 2 good qualities: The rooms are comfortable And the front desk is willing to help with almost anything. Super kudos.
The hotel was really clean, the staff is so friendly and helpful that make you feel like home. I spend two weeks there, they actually helped me in everything I needed, the staff is a always in top of everything, in the restaurant they even knew what kind of food I like and how do I drink my coffee so they had everything ready for me without even asking for it. The team at the front desk was always happy and laughing and the security is amazing there.
Great Hotel with very good service and breakfast included. Feels very welcoming being in Colombia. Perfect staf and cosy rooms. Perfect staying for business at a reasonable price. Restaurant is good mainly breakfast.
This hotel is just wow. A welcoming front desk and very clean rooms with very very comfortable beds. The breakfast is exquisite. Had a very comfortable stay to a very good view from the room. The hotel is very reasonable as well.
Good prices, delicious food, nice and gentle people. Nice bed, very clean room. Central location allowing to move easily in Bogota. We had a meeting with 250 people, every thing went perfect. Good coffee service, delicious juices and the food at the restaurant very well served. Dessert were fantastic. There is a bar at the top floor with nice view and music.
The Lobby of this Hotel had a nice clean scent to it. It was a very welcoming scent. The room was decent. The Mattress was hard, but I got used to it by the second day. Breakfast Buffet had many choices to name here, and it is an added value nonetheless. The front desk staff were always very helpful and courteous. The only drawback is this Hotel's location. Not close to any action, i.e. restaurant, shops, or anything!
Chosen by Gate 1 for our Colombia tour. Nice helpful people at the front desk. Nice restaurant for breakfast with cooked to order eggs. But our tour group dinner was quite disappointing(Maybe the fault of Gate 1 and not the hotel though). Be careful with the room description online; many amenities i.e. slippers, and robes, though listed for ‘all the rooms’ are only for club or executive floors. So bring your slippers! Our room was a good size, and modern. Good working bathroom with hairdryer. Beds are really hard though. Calle 73 does not have a lot going on and is pretty dead at night. There are just a handful of restaurants close by. The Zona Rosa or T zone is a long walk or a taxi ride, (taxis are not expensive) There’s also Zona G. Not sure how long a walk that is since we did take a taxi. The hotel can get taxis to go where you need to. If you arrange return pick up with the hotel you may get hit with a surcharge. Not worth the surcharge since any hotel or restaurant can get a cab to take you back to your hotel. Nice hotel if you’re in Bogota for a short visit. But we would recommend finding a hotel where restaurants, and shopping are closer.
This was the first hotel of our first visit to Colombia. Diana Medina at the front desk was extremely helpful. She efficiently resolved a number of significant issues in a most pleasant manner. The hotel is fortunate to have her as an employee. Good buffet breakfast with omelettes to order. Dinner for our tour group of 29 was most disappointing.
